I would give them a 4 star, but they gave my pizza away tonight, and reluctantly gave me a sub-par replacement pizza. It took almost an hour for the replacement. If you are desperate, their meatball and philly sandwiches are pretty good. I recommend the place down at Oxnard Shores.

Ordered here while on vacation. The prices are awesome and I asked if they had any specials for the night(Saturday) and they did! The delivery charge was only $ 1.50. We ordered a lrg 2 topping, garlic cheesy rolls(which were so so good) and a 2 liter soda and it was only $ 21.99! Awesome deal! The pizza was really good and the garlic cheesy rolls were different and really good, came with marinara. They gave us paper plates, napkins, Parmesan and peppers and cups! All without asking, which was nice considering most of the times they’re forgotten.

Always get delivery. Usually love their gluten free pizza. Got the veggie pesto but they must have changed the green olives. Now they have pimentos and are way too briney and salty for the pizza. bummer. Will still order other options.

Awesome! The décor and dine in experience is not really there, so if you’re looking for a romantic night out, this isnt your place. But the grub is fantastic. We love our wings and calzones(we’re regulars!) Also, they DO use cheese and sauce on their pizza, but admittedly they don’t smother the food in it. and I wonder if a negative reviewer simply had a mosunderstanding over the phone: the woman who works there ia always accommodating and kind. I cannot envision her sabotaging anyone’s meal! Try the wings, love em!

Pizza pizza pizza! Cordellos Pizza! They have the best Gluten Free Pizza in the world! No I mean really! Our groups favorite is the Margarita pizza… it’s PERFECT! Fresh garlic, fresh basil and the right amount of cheese and fresh tomatoes to make you smile and go hmmmmmmm with every bite! Hey people that aren’t gluten intolerant love this one too! Be warned however… if you’re taking it home put it in the trunk because it’s guaranteed if you don’t do that you will arrive home with an empty pizza box. Really! They have subs and pastas too! Their eggplant parm sandwich is amazing too! Mangia!

I’ve lived in ventura for over a year now and this is the only pizza we ever order. Don’t be fooled by the location! The fettuccine Alfredo pasta is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. They are pretty reasonable with price. Every time we have company this is what we order. Delicious and friendly.

I wish I could give a no star rating because I just had the worst experience with this pIace tonight. I have an Entertainment coupon book, and used the 50% off one regular pizza to order the extra large cordello special. I told them I was using the coupon and that it was for pick up. When my husband came home with the pizza he walked in the door and said this is the nastiest pizza he ever tasted and he hoped I wouldn’t be too upset with it. I thought he was joking… until I tasted it. The pizza had no sauce and no cheese. I picked up a couple of other slices and looked to see if it was just that piece, no it was the whole pizza. Not to mention some other weird stuff going on with this pizza. There were cold soggy parts near the the crust, yet there were hot spots in it too. WTF! I was pissed. I called them and told them the pizza had no sauce and no cheese. The lady said they don’t use a lot of sauce on there pizzas unless someone requests it. I said I understand but this pizza had none. I waited for her to respond, but she was just quiet. Then I asked her if it was because I used a coupon. She said yes. Then we were both quiet. Then she asked if I wanted another one. I said no, but I’m going to write about this on Unilocal and we wont be back. The pizza is still sitting on the table and even my 9 year old daughter who loves pizza hasn’t touched it. Im afraid of it too. Who knows how else they sabotaged this pizza. Why did they do this? Were they trying to save money on sauce and cheese cause we used a big coupon? Why do places offer coupons if they don’t want people to use them? Im going to talk to The Entertainment Coupon Book customer service too. They should know this merchant is doing this to customers who use their coupons.

I’ll have to say, we’ve driven by, scootered by, rode our bike by this strip mall several times and I’ve seen Cordello’s but was a bit turned off by the run down center and edgy people in the area… well tonight my son wanted pizza and pasta so I decided to give it a try,… Gal who answered the phone was very friendly and took our order effortlessly, she said she would deliver in about 30 – 40 minutes… I thought«you» are going to deliver? And she did in 30 minutes, the food was hot and I must say we were happy with everything… a med cheese pizza, real pizza like crust, Bambino spaghetti and meatballs, yum, meatball was good and pasta was al dente, and it came with bread! Thanks for the good food and service!

I felt like I should write«Will work for food» on this pizza and give it to a homeless person to use. At least that way it would serve a purposeNot to mention it is grossly overpriced. Never again.

I love this place. They use fresh ingrediants and cook their Italian food with love. And the prices are very reasonable. A friend and I had lunch for $ 15…for the two of us… and it was delicious. The Pizza and pasta are all made with homemade sauce and dough. Best Italian food in Ventura and probably the least expensive

Our neighbor hosted a party celebrating the start of the 2011 college football season. In addition to providing beer, wine, and cocktails, he ordered large pizzas including the Margarita($ 17), Meat Lover($ 17), and the Greek($ 18). The first two pizzas were hits with the hungry group even though the crust could have benefited from more oven time. The Greek pizza, however, was not as well liked. It’s primary flaw was the overpowering richness of the feta cheese. I’d skip this pie unless you pretty much just want to taste feta cheese. Our neighbor gets the 5 star«Woohoo! As good as it gets!» rating. Cordello’s gets the 3 star«A-OK» rating.

Craving some pizza, didn’t feel like making it, did some research online, came across Cordello’s, sounded good, thought we’d try it out — were IMPRESSED! Decided on a large mushroom & garlic. And they delivered! FRESH mushrooms, FRESH garlic! Crust: crispy on bottom, could have thinner, but overall it was satisfying. Forgot to order it as «thin». Next time! Sauce: was OK. Little skimpy, not too much flavor, but not bad. Cheese: standard bland pizza cheese. Not a fan. Next time might order with ricotta or fresh mozz. Toppings: A+ Price: Can’t complain at all. Great deal. Two topping Large was under $ 10. Took a while to get the order, but was dinner time on a Sunday. No worries. It was hot and tasty! Great you have a gluten-free crust, how about offering vegan cheese or veggie meat option? Just a thought. Overall it hit the spot. B+ pizza with an A+ price. We’ll be back!

Cordello’s has the best pizza in Ventura(and I’m a HUGE fan of Topper’s, Ameci’s and Round Table) and until September 2011 they’re having a summer sale — $ 5 for any large pizza every day, all day. You can’t beat that! They use real mozzarella so the pizza is wonderfully greasy(as it should be), real herbs in the sauce(lots of oregano) and the crust is slightly sourdough-ish and chewy. Their salads, pasta and sandwiches/subs are excellent as well; my favorite is the eggplant parmigiana sub. Service is friendly, this is a real mom & pop establishment where you will be greeted warmly; I’ve been going for over 4 years and have always had a great experience.

Pizza here is VERY good! Priced reasonably… More of a take out joint, the seating is kinda primative. But they do have seats if you choose to eat here… We enjoy the Cordello’s Special pizza(meats and veggies)… The other pie’s we’ve had from here are pretty good as well! I agree with a previous reviewer that the calzones are so so. The ricotta has no seasoning, and is just about overbearing on the entire calzone. We’ve also gotten the lasagne and penne pasta here and were very pleased!

This place is great absolutely one of my favorites. You can’t beat the lunch special; Slice, Salad and drink for $ 5.00+tax. They’re pizza is fuck’n delicious and the owner is really nice, he always remembers me and my Fiancé. Beyond the pizza they also have many classic pizzeria dishes; calzones, pasta, subs etc. Thus far I have only branched out once from the pizza and tried a pepperoni calzone. Here at Cordello’s the pizza is the star, great flavor as the sauce and dough are made from scratch(the sauce has the perfect hint of basil) and it fills you up every time

Hmm what can I say? The service was excellent but unfortunately the calzones weren’t. The ricotta cheese they use doesn’t have much flavor and to top it off the veggies they use taste bland. Ok so the marinara just taste’s like regular tomato sause with salt. Wish the calzone would had match the great customer service, so for that I am only giving them 3 stars. The man there was very courteous and kept offering us free drinks, napkins and asked us how we were doing. Excellent service though.

I came to this place after reading Unilocal reviews to see if it really deserves the 4 – 5 starts everyone else has been giving. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and it was delicious. Generous amount of sauce, good amount of chicken, red onions, and other trimmings. The crust was very good overall. For, now, I think this place deserves a 3, because although it is a good place overall, it just doesn’t stand out from the rest. On top of that, it took over 30 minutes to get my pizza. The price is that of a typical mom and pop pizza place. The Bottom line: above average pizza, decent price, but I’m sorry, it doesn’t scream 4 – 5 stars, plus the wait was long.

I would not go to Cordello’s to eat in. The seating is bare minimum, and the selection of beverages is uninspiring. Having said that however, I will totally go back, any time I can, when take-out is an option. We went on a visit to Ventura, intending to order a pizza and eat it there, but ended up taking it back to our hotel to eat. We got an extra large with mushrooms, pepperoni and olives. The pizza looked and smelled so delicious that we didn’t get it back to our room without eating a slice as we drove. Toppings were generous, crust was tasty and had a good texture. It was me and my two teenage sons eating, and we couldn’t finish the whole thing. But boy, it made great leftovers!

My husband and I have been coming here/ordering delivery since we moved downtown a year ago. I keep meaning to try other things on the menu but the pizza is so good that I have to order it every time. It has a nice thick crust and the flavors are perfect and homemade tasting. I’m so happy we got coupons from them on our front door when we moved here or we may have never known they existed! Definitely a hidden gem.

You know, pizza is as American as a sushi bar or taqueria joint. We’re so used to pizza people stuffing crusts full of cheese or ladling pasta over bread nothing is surprising, is it? That’s why it came as such a shock to me when one day I decided to take a flyer on the, um, flyer sitting on my kitchen table… for yet another pizza joint in town, Cordello’s Pizza. The pizza was delivered promptly, hot and bubbling. And guess what? It didn’t taste like the cardboard it was housed in! NO, this is not food merely to chew on like cud. Amazing pizza! So that’s what crust is supposed to taste like! It’s not supposed to be as bland as foam. No, this is terrific bread which supports well-seasoned pizza. You don’t throw pepper flakes on perfection! Try the generous antipasti salad, the garden salad as well… and if you want a taste that will stay with you, the cheese calzone with ricotta & mozzarella is awesome. The cravings may haunt you, you’ve been warned! Cordello’s is independent, brother-run little business with guys who trained with some fine chefs. I hope one day they can have a space worthy of their pie. But for now – for the most part – it is a take-out, or delivery establishment, yet they are very very nice. They’ll most likely remember you and throw in extras unlike the chains… what a joy it is to find people who do something passionately and so well! All I can say is Mangia!
