The salon owner is very nice. The salon is clean and very well kept. They offer you coffee, water, cookies and a cheese plate. They are very accommodating. I got a pedicure from Hector. It was one of the best Pedi’s I ever got. I also had my hair done by Christina. She is one of the veteran stylists. She did a fantastic job!

From the moment I walked in the door my first time at Freddie B, I was treated like family. The positive, welcoming atmosphere cultivated here is top notch.
Having curly hair, I’m always worried about trying out a new place but Holly is an amazing hair stylist!
I also recommend trying their facial services. Hector is super knowledgeable about skin care and created a relaxing, yet invigorating, experience. Come one now, try a little self care… you know you want to!

Wow I brought in a picture of Alec Baldwin so Freddie could imitate the cut on my fiancé and wow can we say doppelgänger!!! He did a fantastic job and even covered up a bald spot. I’m in love. Everyone here knows what they’re doing and what they talking about. True professionals! And classy

What a fabulous place! The people are knowledge and friendly. Hector made excellent recommendations on my facial and customized it for my needs. Freddie made me feel welcome and treated me like a long lost friend. I will definitely be visiting this place whenever I visit Ventura! I am a total spa junkie and I would recommend this place to my friends.

After a disastrous haircut last June at a different salon, I swore off letting anyone touch my hair until a dear friend recommended Freddie b’s salon to me. I’m so grateful! The booking process online was super convenient. They followed up professionally to confirm the appointment. I was greeted politely and with a selection of tea or coffee (or water). I arrived unexpectedly early, but they called Val, my stylist, to let her know I was there and she immediately headed to the appointment. I explained my highly painful experience at the other salon and why my hair was in such awful shape. She understood and followed my wishes for a new cut that will let my hair grow out, but still be lovely. In fact, somehow, she managed to make it seem like my hair is longer than it is. Miraculous! She was up front on what could be done and that the growing out after the disastrous cut will take time to transition into what my goal hairstyle is, but what she did as the in between stage is beautiful and makes me feel like I don’t need to hide behind hats, hair clips, and bobby pins anymore. THANK YOU VAL! And I paid the same price as I paid for the horrible hairdo at the other place, so the pricing is reasonable — not snob salon pricing that working people can’t afford. Everyone was laid back. The salon is very clean and stylish in a retro building, and no one tried to upsell me into a thousand things I don’t need. Guess what? That means I’ll happily keep coming back… and will book more services like facials in the near future. If you don’t know where to go for your style, go here. You won’t be disappointed.

Freddie is very very kind and I’m sure most of the people who work there are skilled, but the girl I got completely ruined my hair. I never leave bad reviews or return things, I just live with my decision and move on, but I feel like I need to give this feedback. She looked young and hip, and had glasses and a bunch of tattoos, and all I wanted was my hair trimmed and thinned out a bit, with long layers. I wanted her to just follow the great cut that I had, just trim it a bit and thin it. She cut off like SIX inches, straight across my back with absolutely no shape, maybe layered the absolute bottom half-​inch of my hair and never brought out the thinning shears once. So now I am $ 70 down, and no matter how I style it, it looks awful. I have naturally wavy hair, which looks great when layered properly, but somehow she managed cut it in a way that killed all the natural body and bounce. It is like a poofy shapeless plain jane housewife cut that would be cool if I lived in Nebraska in 1992. She said she used to work reception, so I’m wondering if she even has her license or knows what she is doing? Thinning out hair is very simple. I just cut my hair on my own today because I can’t afford another $ 70 hair cut this month. :(
Give them your business, just go for a seasoned veteran. And I feel like I will have bad karma for giving a bad review, but I just don’t want anyone else to go through this. It took me years to grow my hair out and now it will take me another 2 years to get to where I was. :(:(:(:(

Drove 2 hours to get my roots blended and left with 3 huge copper stripes on either side of my part for $ 125. Never again. Freddie is very friendly but I think the person that worked on my hair didn’t take the time to really fix my problem and just made it worse. I wish I was as happy about my hair as everyone else here.

I just moved here from Venice. As any woman (and some men) know, finding the right stylist is almost as important as finding the right significant other, so I did a lot of research. I contacted many places, but got the best response from Freddie, who answered the phone himself and spent the time to answer my questions, even though I could tell they were busy. They also have a great website, which led me here initially. Had my first appointment with Azure today and she nailed it. I am totally grey on top and brunette on sides and back, colored to a bright, light blonde… not easy. She is definitely my new stylist. The shampoo bowls are the most comfortable ever. Everyone that works here is friendly and laid back, no one tries to push products or extra services. Prices are totally reasonable and ambiance is elegant yet casual.

Love love love everything about it! From the layout to the staff! Love how friendly, helpful, and fun Freddie is nice to see the owner interacting with all customers. Cucumber water is delicious as well! Val is a professional, everywhere I go I get complimented on my hair.

I’m new to ventura and had to find a new salon/​stylist. I chose Freddie B’s based off the Unilocal reviews and I’m so happy I did. Freddie, the owner booked my appointment with Holly since she’s experienced with balayage/​ombré. She took time going over photos I liked off Pinterest and she was very quick once she started. Freddie and his partner both offered me water, tea or coffee. I brought my own bottle of water so Freddie brought me a glass of ice and a lemon then offered to pour it for me! These guys are awesome! Customer service if huge for me and they rocked it here! Ok back to my hair… Holly is really great at her craft. I will definitely be coming back for Holly to continue doing my cut and color. She did exactly what I asked and I’m a very happy girl! Oh and I’m still thinking about the scalp massage! Thank you Freddie B crew, you all deserve 10 stars!

After recently moving from West Hollywood to Ventura-​I needed a new stylist and didn’t know where to turn. I had the same stylist for several years and did not know who to trust. I saw Freddie’s while driving by and loved the vibe. I went inside to explore.
I was treated like a queen. Everyone there is friendly and unpretentious. They bend over backwards to make you feel pampered. I received one of the best cuts of my life from Van. I have now found my new place for my monthly haircut.

My heart is breaking a little bit that we are moving out of state and my visits to Freddie B and my most excellent colorist Shante, will be over. sigh.
I moved back to Ventura County last year and getting my hair done just right was a HUGE deal for me. I have this wacky ultra fine, curly sorta frizzy hair that I want bright orangey red– (what can I say? It’s my signature color). NO I don’t want to come out looking like a soccer mom, no I don’t want my hair to look «muddy» or pink or blond or flat, or fade in a week or have the color bleed all over my pillow case and towels– and yes all of the above has happened over the past 10 years. enter Freddie b and my beloved gal, Shante! My first visit I swear she took an hour JUST going over my color, strategizing with me, discussing, planning ’cause that is what it takes people, to get my turning grey hair into something I like. She NAILED it! WOW what a great job, she really knows her stuff, because face it, my hair is like a terrible chemistry exam, every. single. time! She is most excellent. she ended up doing a three step process, foils, base, and glaze. then she did a fabulous cut. I have never walked out of there unsatisfied!!! I am seriously thinking about flying back every 5 weeks just to get my hair done. That is how great this stylist is. oh and Freddie b the place? Gorgeous, such nice people, Freddie is a doll, and everyone that works there makes you feel like a queen from he moment you walk in. I found the prices to be in line with what I paid elsewhere, not cheap, but I am a 3 hour ticket when I walk through the door. it takes that long to get my hair right. It’s worth every penny and I am dreading having to find a new place. so long Freddie and Co, you guys rock!

The booking process at Freddie’s is easy as pie. You can find appointments online, or book by calling. I booked online most recently, and it was amazing seeing my time options and days.
When you arrive, Freddie, Hector, or Destinee will greet you with open arms! Tea, cucumber water, or coffee is offered every time. I feel like a long lost family member.
My stylist is Christine Coultas, and I couldn’t see myself with anyone else ever. Once you find your person… You stick with her! Christine is sweet, professional, HILARIOUS, but most importantly she makes my hair look fantastic every time. I have long, fine hair. This summer, she highlighted my hair using baliage, and while I looked like a goofball with cotton and Saran Wrap in my hair, it ended up looking FANTASTIC. To this day, I haven’t re colored my hair, and it’s grown out natural looking and subtle, yet noticeably bright.
My haircuts seem effortless on her end, she snips away and laughs with me like I joke about depressed clients, weirdos with bad hair, and Ventura «nightlife.» We have a blast together. I’m so happy with my haircut, I truly can’t imagine going to anyone else. To further my point, I will mention my ex of 4 years works here, and I am totally willing to risk a run in for the beautiful haircuts Christine constructs.

So much more than just a haircut and shampoo. They treat me so nice, the place is always super clean, and they offer a lot of services. I’ve had cuts, colors, Brazilian blowouts, and all turned out well. I’ve been to other salons in this town and this is the best.
Love the online appointments and text confirmations. And Freddie sends an email every six weeks or so to remind me it’s time to re-​book. Sometimes I forget to because my hair continues to look so good long after a visit.

I came to this spa last year bc of the great Unilocal reviews. I’m glad that I did, I adore Brooke B. and have seen her three times since! The manager is also a very nice guy and their service is superb.

I’ve been going for years and Freddy and Co are always super friendly and do everything right. It’s the little things, like a smile and the offer of water or coffee (real glass or ceramic cups too!). I actually look forward to going to Freddy B to de-​stress for a few minutes and break up the day.

Ahhhhhhh… this is everything a salon and spa should be. I first came here to treat myself to a spa pedicure because let’s face it nail salons aren’t really that relaxing. Destinee did my pedicure and she was so sweet. The pedi was perfect and one of the longest-​lasting I’ve had. I mentioned to Destinee that I had been thinking about lightening my dark hair (a scary prospect).
The owner came by while I was getting my pedi to look at my hair and make some suggestions and recommend a stylist. Caitlyn, the recommended stylist, came by, grabbed an iPad and showed me some pics of what she thought would work. I set up an appt. with her and came back later for the cut and color.
Caitlyn was lovely and I was very happy with the cut and color that she did. it was a long appt., and she always made sure I was comfortable and had something to read and to drink.
A few other notes about why I like this place.
1. Appt. booking online!!! Sometimes it is easier than calling.
2. Beautiful salon and friendly staff. It is really relaxing to come here.
3. Text reminders of appts. Again, sometimes it is easier than calling.

New to the area, I found this place on Unilocal and made an appointment with Brooke for base color touch up and partial highlight. She is fabulous! My hair looks terrific and I had a ball visiting with her and learning about the area. I cannot wait for my next appointment. I will probably take advantage of the other services soon, as well. I need a brow wax like yesterday!
