We specialize in early childhood child care. We take children from infants until age 5 (before they go to kindergarten). We are a play-​based, child-​led, adult-​guided child care program which focuses on the development of the whole child.

History

Established in 2010.

While looking for child care for my own daughter I, Marina, couldn’t find what I was looking for in a child care setting. I was searching for a balance of an educational program with play-​based activities in a child care home atmosphere. When I couldn’t find what I was looking for I decided that I would create the atmosphere that I was searching for in my own home and opened up my own family child care business.

I Was introduced to the child care field when I was 15 years old when I began babysitting neighbor’s children and the children of my parent’s colleagues. I had fun with the children that I babysat and they enjoyed their time with me. Through word of mouth I quickly became very busy and babysat regularly on weekends and school breaks until I graduated high school in 2000.

After high school graduation I worked as a nanny for several years while working other part-​time jobs. I continued to work as a nanny and babysitter until 2004 when my daughter was born. For 2 – 3 years I was employed as an apartment manager where I could work and have my daughter with me. When that opportunity ended I found work in retail and found some very nice family child care providers and although I liked them and my daughter was happy, I was looking for something more than was I was being offered.

With the support of my family child care provider at the time and my family I started my own daycare.
