Pinpoint Leak Detection

We hired Pinpoint to «detect a leak in the slab «(hence the name… Pinpoint Leak Detection?) and mentioned when the appointment was booked that we had found roots in the toilet when they were changed out. Technician they sent to appointment was nice and when he was here I was talking to him and showed him the damage to the walls, the slab and how we thought there was a leak under the house making the soil unstable. He was here for an hour and a half. I kept asking him. did you find a leak? Is that where there’s leak? Figured he knew what he was doing there. (Pinpoint Leak Detection???) He sent his report to us and I forwarded on to plumber/​contractor. Guess what? They didn’t look for a leak in the slab at all! They sent a camera in the sewer line to tell us we had roots where we told them we had roots! So I call and let them know there was a serious miscommunication and words cannot adequately describe the woman I had to deal with on the phone. Customer service is horrible, she was defensive and wanted to charge us an additional $ 275.00 on top of the $ 250.00 we had already paid to come out and see if we have a leak in the slab. Really. Methinks not. Stay away.

Called this company on recommendation from our plumber, as we have had multiple sewer back up problems. I set the appointment and told them we had been having a lot of issues with toilets and showers backing up etc. they sent a nice guy out with the camera apparatus, but when he put it into the clean out he said «well, you’ve got water in your pipes, and I can’t see anything!» «That will be 250.00, and I’ll only charge you a discounted rate of 150.00 to come back after your plumber snakes the line.» WHAAT? I tried for 20 minutes to get my plumber to come out right away, but he couldn’t, so I was stuck paying 250.00 for nothing! I called to complain, and try to at least get the second visit for free, but the woman on the phone said it was MY job to tell HER if my line was backed up or not! It wasn’t exhibiting symptoms, so HOW WOULD I KNOW? It should be a standard question they ask when people call, and they should WARN you that their cameras don’t work under water, and they don’t offer snaking services. How stupid! They could have charged me another hundred for the snake, and I would have paid it gladly. I asked the woman to have the owner call me back, but he never did. My husband also called the next day and had the same conversation with her, also asking her to have the owner call. Never heard from them! Thinking about calling my credit card company to reverse the charges. What a rip-​off! I’ll repost when I find a company that can do the job «whatever it takes».

DO NOT use this company. They will stall around, make excuses, then give you a bill for 3 times the amount they quoted you. They say they are experts in finding leaks, but they don’t tell you it will take three days and a lot of BS to find it. We still don’t know where the leak is for sure. It is not a FLAT RATE. They start with that and then add hourly. But do not tell you that.
Poor management and business ethics.

Had a plumber come out, they thought the leak was a slab leak under kitchen sink. They advised calling Pinpoint to be sure. Jason & Steven found the leak by the stairs under the slab. The put an «X» on the tile so the plumber could dig there. This was EXACTLY the spot! Great job Pinpoint!

I had a slab leak in my house, which went undetected the first time Pinpoint came out. After calling them back a week later, Dan came out and was able to find where the leak was. They were kind enough to not charge me for the second visit, since it was only a week after the first visit. Thank you for a diligent job!

At the time of service, I was living in an upstairs Condo unit. My neighbor below complained that he was receiving water through his ceiling from my unit. I initially called a plumber but the source of leak could not be found. I was beginning to stress when I decided the contact Pinpoint.
The Pinpoint technician arrived punctually and did a thorough inspection. He was able to find leak. He even sketched out a diagram of issue and patiently explained problem to my neighbor and me. We were able to get leak fixed based on the technician’s analysis.

omg! he left snot piles on my floor!!! this was the grossest experience i have ever had with a plumber/​contractor. the man who came to find the leak literally dripped snot profusely and left piles of snot on my floor, i kid you not!!! it was so gross, i can barely write about it. i had to bleach my floor and clean up piles of gooey snot this man left — omg! seriously omg!!! he also did a check for leaks, the water came from shower into the closets then he just left the water for me to clean up! but the snot thing — that was unbelievable. i mean buckets of drooling snot were oozing out of this man’s face and he left piles of it on my floor. take heed. this was beyond gross.

I own a Plumbing company and come across slab leaks and gas leaks all the time and my reputation is based on finding the leak and fixing it as fast as possible and the only company I would recommend is Pin Point with Rob and his team of professionals that make the art of finding leaks look easy.

I have used Pinpoint Leak Detection for over 15 years to locate leaks and sewer lines. They are professional and courteous. They are always on top of the latest technology and are always very helpful at answering questions. They will always be my preferred vendor!

When I called to schedule appointment I was never advised that there is a minimum $ 265.00 fee. The serviceman arrived and also never provided a quote, Strike1.
He said in order to locate leak he needed to cut a hole in my ceiling however he came unprepared and did not have any protection for my floors so he asked If I had something he could use. I gave him a sheet and when he was done cutting sections of my ceiling he left the entire mess for me to clean up. Strike 2.
When he was done, and did I mention that he DID NOT FIND THE LEAK, he handed me a bill for $ 265. When I questioned the high amount considering he did not find the leak his response was, «Don’t worry, your insurance will cover it». Strike 3.
I reached out to contact the owner by phone later the same day to discuss my experience and he never had the courtesy to call me back. This company is unprofessional and I would not recommend. Stay away.

Very professional, found my slab leak in under an hour and offered suggestion on how to fix it without having to pull up my entire kitchen and living room. Great company!

After a promise «we can find any leak, any kind, anywhere», after $ 265 –and 3 hrs, they had no clue! Plenty of excuses about plastic pipes, interference from this and that… never an issue up front.
