Sams Saticoy Liquor & Delivery Service

A couple weeks ago I stopped by Sam’s to just pick up a quick bottle of cognac. Wasn’t looking for anything special just maybe some Hennessy. Sky was enthusiastic and appreciated my business. He recommend a bottle of what he said was one of the best cognacs he’s had. The bottle was Frapin V.S.O.P. I wasn’t familiar with the bottle and was discouraged by the price. $ 150. I said «why not try it before I judge.» Sky told me to let him know how the bottle was when I got home.
When I got home I was disappointed in the cognac. For the price I was expecting something more. It was smooth but no more than other cognacs I’ve had. I held back from posting a negative review and just said «I’m never going back there again.
However, I just got off the phone with Sky and he noticed the mistake and tracked me down to apologize. He then proceeded to make it up to me and offered me either another bottle or a refund. Luckily I signed up for his rewards program and followed him on Instagram. The fact that this store manager/​owner went through the trouble of looking for me to resolve an error is by far above excellent customer service. I don’t care who you are. That’s how a business should be ran. Even a liquor store. He could have just said «who cares I made money and he’s just another customer.» Instead he decided to ensure that a simple patronage became a customer for life. My hat off to you Sky.

Love this liquor store. They have a great selection of snacks an even better the have a good selection of beer and a large selection of liquor. I always stop by for a snack or a cold drink when I’m in the area. The cashier is always nice and friendly.

This store has a good selection of Tequilas, Whiskey and Vodkas. They have good everyday pricing and specials that rock. Another cool thing is they offer delivery service just in case you have already had a few or want some more added convenience.

A man of the people, with forward thinking and the drive to accomplish anything he sets his mind to. I have been going to Sam’s liquor since it was half the size it is now and was attached to a run-​down donut shop. I am so proud to see how much progress the store has made and continues to make.
Especially if you are an avid consumer of alcoholic beverages! Sam’s always has an eclectic stock that includes super typical brands you need as well as some curious companies you should be brave enough to try. did I forget to mention, delivery service! and a knowledgeable staff that can help with all your questions…

This place is not a place I can go to on a regular basis but if you’re in Ventura you gotta check them out.
I happened to be close by for work and decided to peek in. Not only did I manage to get some nice cold brews, I was also able to snag a barrel aged Rasputin!
I wished they had more fridges for beer but that goes with just about any liquor or big box store. Great customer service with great interaction on social media to let you know when the goodies have landed.
Highly recommend if you live in the area. Salud!

Sams is by far the best place in Ventura to buy craft beer. Biggest selection and rare bottles to choose from. Also Sky knows his beer and will help you find the beer you are looking for. Stout and porters please. Also if you are looking for the liquor, they have quite the collection of that. Also keep posted on their social media sites to keep up with specials.

We just used Saticoy liquor for our wedding and it was great working with Sky. He was professional and helpful and reliable. Beer kegs and ice arrived on time. Very happy with their service.

I love Sam’s! Everyone in there is always super friendly, including the other customers. They have a great selection and the prices are great. It’s definitely worth it to follow them on Instagram for their specials, plus Sky is very entertaining. On top of all this they deliver! A liquor store that delivers??? Heck yes!

Great beer selection, I can stay in there forever just trying to decide on which one, or usually ones, I want. The delivery service is great as well. The person complaining he couldn’t use the restroom with his wife (Ryan) that’s a stupid reason for a bad review. Most places are not going to let you go in together and if I was waiting to use the restroom I’d be grossed out thinking about what you did in there, wait until you get home or at least back in the car and I know you don’t dress better than me. Now I want to go get some new beer to try

Great beer selection, Sky always makes great recommendations, and he doesn’t try to over sell you. I’ve been there countless times and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about SSL.

This is one of the best convenience stores in the area. An amazing selection of wine and spirits and definitely the place to go for an assortment of tequila. Prices are great too!

We stopped on our way home to Santa Barbara for a few snacks and a glance at their beer selection. The selection seemed great but after our experience with a female clerk while using the restroom we decided to leave without making a purchase.
My fiancé and I both entered the restroom to continue a conversation we were having while waiting in line. The female clerk in question asked us not to because of their single person in bathroom policy (?) so we politely complied. I proceed to wait by the door for my turn and was then scolded for waiting near the door. She then proceeded to point to the end of the hallway where I should wait. I haven’t been scolded and talked down to like this since primary school. What could have been a good experience and a purchase of some tasty beer turned into us leaving immediately never to return.
The gentleman behind the cash registry was very nice and polite and greeted us when we walked in. Perhaps, this lady was having a bad day? We were coming from a funeral so perhaps we were dressed too nicely for their establishment?
UPDATE: After posting this review I’ve received two angry messages from two employees. Perhaps, address the problem instead of shooting the messenger.

Since moving to Ventura, I have been looking for a locally owned liquor store that has a good craft beer selection. Saticoy liquor is definitely that, but I was put off by a couple things. 1) Dusty bottles. I would imagine that having the front door open next to a major road leads to a lot of dust on everything, but it gives the impression that the beers have been sitting for a while and might be skunky. 2) Cluttered aisles. I could barely walk down the beer aisle because there were a bunch of boxes of unstocked beer. I don’t know if this was a temporary thing but I couldn’t see a good portion of the beers with all the boxes in the way. How can I buy what I can’t see?
I eventually came away with a limited release Speakeasy and a couple loosies of other beers I haven’t tried. All in all, they have a great beer selection, but the place was a little messy.

I am still in shock about the level of customer service I received from Sam’s. They were fantastic! I live out of state and called to order a gift for a friend. I decided to give them a try based on the other Unilocal reviews I read. When I called to inquire about their delivery areas they said technically they didn’t deliver where I wanted them to go, but they would be happy to accommodate. The gentlemen I was working with then proceeded to help me select each and every beer individually for the basket I wanted to put together and said he would personally deliver it for me within a one hour time frame the next day for me (a Sunday no less). Needless to say, if this was the end of my experience it would have been a fantastic one.
But then, the next day during the delivery window I got a call from my friend at Sam’s to say that the address I gave him was incorrect. I couldn’t get ahold of my friend to clarify the address either. I was quite stressed. Instead of calling it quits because of my error (which would have been completely appropriate given the situation), he stayed in contact with me for over an hour while I tried to get the correct address and in the end went door to door through the neighborhood until he found the right address for me. WOW! I would definitely recommend these guys and will be using them again in the future!

This is THE place to go to for craft/​micro brews. Two to three years ago, I’d probably opt to go to a BevMo or Total Wine instead. I remember when this place just had only two fridges dedicated for them. Today, there’s the fridges, plus back to back aisles with shelves fully stocked. Sky has done an amazing job with the expansion of craft beers in this store.

I came in to get my Ojo Rojo michelada fix i had been hearing about. I wasn’t disappointed! It hit the spot. The staff was extremely helpful and outgoing. I will definitely be returning in the near future.

Called Sam’s based on the Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed.
I phoned in from out of state to have a delivery made to a friend of mine that was home alone after having surgery a few days ago. The girl was in pretty desperate need of assistance… «Doctor! The wine, burrito and ice cream, STAT!»
Fortunately, the nice lady that assisted me wandered around the store, found a couple decent bottles of wine at a reasonable price, and even offered a sale recommendation unasked!
They provided service from Saticoy to Pierpont in under an hour, including my rather drawn out, dithering phone call.
Bottom line, faster delivery than flowers, and I believe my friend would say, much more well-​received! :-)

Boo Who, the residents at Archstone Vinoni Ranch apartments aren’t supposed to be charged a delivery fee!
Sam’s Saticoy Liquor is Awesome. They are Honest and Trustworthy and they are there to make you happy. I have never had a problem with them however, I can’t say that I have ever ordered three packs of cigarette’s ($ 18.00), one pint of ice cream ($ 3.00), two fudgsicles ($ 2.00) and one bag of chips ($ 3.00) with Sales Tax ($ 2.00) and door to door service ($ 2.00) for a total of $ 30.00.
If you want door to door delivery service than I would expect that you should have to pay for it. Otherwise get your lazy butt off the coach save the Two Bucks and pick up the items yourself.
I’m not sure why SSL would offer the Archstone Vinoni Ranch apartments free delivery anyway. Did the residents of the Archstone Vinoni Ranch apartments offer Sam’s Saticoy Liquor anything in return? Did the residents sign something when they leased their apartments stating that they would only buy their Liquor from Sam’s Saticoy Liquor? I don’t think so. I think that Sam was nice enough to do so for as long as he did.
