Fantastic service, great food and a diverse beer list. Lauren and Dannika were amazing, and the Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic reduction was delicious.

Highest price beer in town & 10.00 for a small bowl of macaroni & cheese which was not much better than Craft macaroni & cheese. Will not be returning to this place. Victoria Pub is a lot better and you get your monies worth. The location is the only thing they have going for them.

Been coming here since the very beginning never had a bad experience with over 200 times coming here. Christa is my normal server and always is amazing always accommodating and very pleasant to deal with. There is a sexy ass security guard named Daniel who does a great job at keeping the place in order, he is always cleaning tables and taking dirty dishes back when needed.

Amazing place great food good drinks reasonable prices and always someone to talk to. Fun! Thank U James for being a great bartender. You treated us like family. We will be back.

Came here for dinner tonight, and it was pretty good. The staff was courteous, accommodating, and attentive. The atmosphere was very throughout the building and the outside patio, but the lighting on the right side is a bit bright if you’re just getting dinner. There was nothing bad about the food — their brussel sprouts with bacon were great — but there wasn’t much to set it apart. I’m sure that it’s a great bar to go to on the weekend so well. I’d come here again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for dinner.

Stopped in here today for lunch. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Ordered 5 tacos (2 for me and 3 for my boyfriend) and a bowl of chili. All 5 tacos came out cold. I ordered a chicken and a fried fish– both had zero flavor. My boyfriend ordered carnitas, beef short rib and grilled fish tacos. I complained that mine were cold and they took them back and about 15 minutes later, they reserved me my order. It was still terrible, but at least it was warm… They told us when I was reserved that they comped us on my tacos. When we received the bill, they gave me 50% off of my order — not comped.
The atmosphere is cramped at best. The tables were so close together that you could have intimate conversations with the tables next to you, and had to shimmy to get around anywhere. If you are disabled, you will not be able to get around with a wheelchair or a walker, and it is my feeling that no one on staff will try and make any accommodations to help. I watched a man on crutches struggle to shimmy to a table with no help from anyone but his friend.
We never could figure out who our server was since we started with one who took our order and was to never be seen again. Then another waitress finally came and asked about refilling our empty beverages. The hostess reserved me my tacos and we could not get anyone to return to our table. I had to get up and find some sugar for my boyfriends tea, which I snagged from a table that had just been vacated, as we could not get anyone’s attention to bring us some. A while later, another server came by and asked if I wanted a refill, I said yes, and she walked away and left me with an empty glass. Finally my boyfriend got up and went to the bar to get it refilled for me.
Overall, the food was not good and the service was horrid! Had to flag down yet another server to get our bill. Only time in my life I have left a .22 cent tip but that was because we didn’t want to wait any longer to get change.
Every table near us had some sort of problem. One table was given a bill before they even received their food, and another table sent their salad back. We kept hearing the excuse, I’m sorry, your server went on break and I am covering for her. These tables had a different server than we had, so not quite sure where our server (or whoever took our order was) had gone. We weren’t offered any excuse about our server but had about 4 different people help us during our visit, none of which were attentive or particularly helpful. They all seemed to be hanging out around the bar socializing with each other.
We left quite disappointed and still hungry. My boyfriend actually stopped on the way home to get something hot to eat. He spent $ 6.49 at Arby’s and got hot food and commented that it was better then the $ 28 we had just wasted at Social Tap. That is pretty sad!
Nevertheless, we will not be returning…

Love this place ! Went with 3 other people, ahi tacos outstanding! Southwest burgerfish & chips nice selection of beers. Looking forward to going back soon real soon.

Had dinner here on Saturday night. Great atmosphere, awesome beer selection and wide range of menu options. We had the truffle fries to start. So good! For my entrée, I had the Ahi Tacos and would definitely order them again! If you like food with a kick, you’ll love these. Can’t wait to go back.

Came here on a Saturday night, and ordered a beer and bread pudding. The tap list blows, so I ordered the bread pudding, and when it came out it was fucking burnt. I told the server and they took it off my bill but still the simple fact that why did they serve burnt bread pudding to a fucking customer? That’s just horrible customer service. Not even an apology or anything.
Don’t expect friendly service either, the employees are too busy socializing with each other to pay attention to the customers.

Well I’m pretty bummed, I always said that this place was the best bar grub in Ventura and have been a frequent customer for the past three years I’ve lived in Ventura., but apparently they have trivia night on Wednesdays for a few months now and still don’t have there act together. I’m not saying the customer service is bad but it took over an hour for me and my one friend to get a burger and they where both cold and dry and quit disgusting. We asked to speak with management and explained to her we are frequent customers and we notice your more busy than usual so we know it may take some time to get food but they let me down with the quality this time. She comped our drinks and still charged us for the food. The beers where just fine the food was crap, so I’d rather pay for the beer and would appreciate the food comped, but since she didn’t know the right thing to do I will not be returning to this establishment. Truly there loss since I’m a local and I bring all my clients there when they visit me in Ventura.
They used to have a good kitchen staff because I know some friends who worked there but not anymore, so again to bad for them I’m pretty bummed out

Food was mediocre. Atmosphere was nice.
Sweet Chili wings and Jamaican Jerk wings — 2 stars. Unfortunately, this doesn’t even come close to Pizza Hut wings or Wingstop wings which is kind of sad. Don’t order them.
Nachos — 3 stars. Mediocre, nothing special but large portion and chips appear crunchy.
Truffle fries — 3.5 stars. The fries were the best of the meal yesterday. Even then, they were a bit better than your average truffle fries. Could be more fresh and crispy for sure.
Atmosphere — 4 stars. Nice and clean. Right next to the beach. Open porch seating. Cute lighting. Bar environment.

I came here with two other friends on Sunday to watch the Broncos game. I’ve come a lot and have always had great service and great food, but this time our server (Dani) was the best server I’ve ever had there. And she didn’t seem agitated that we stayed so long.
Dani, if you’re reading this, I was sitting with two extreme lesbians and I want to set the record straight that I am totally straight. They told me because I asked your name, you probably thought I was gay because of how they looked and my «super lesbo flannel.»
Anyways, I’ve always loved this place and come every time I’m in Ventura.

I really love this place! The food is good, and it’s super fun hanging out both inside and outside. It feels like you’re hanging out at someone’s house having a drink, the seating and whole feel of the place is super comfortable and welcoming! And it definitely helps that all the servers are nice/​knowledgable and everything is prepared quickly. Definitely going to keep coming here.

Great bar if you are looking for a raucus, loud sports bar type of place. The cavernous interior has multiple huge screen TVs showing all sorts of sports. The echos of all the fans trying to talk over each other make non-​shouted conversation impracticall… If you want more quiet, they have a great outside covered patio that only has 1 huge screen TV.
The food is great, and the happy hour deals are worth checking out. When the weather is good (Ventura, when isn’t it!) they have windows that open, giving a row of bar seats that face Seaward Avenue an unobstructed view and interaction with the street.

This place is popular and seems like a good location to relax, grab a drink, and hang out with friends. I thought that the appetizers were just okay, not too elaborate and a little bit basic, not that flavorful but average.

I am not a sports bar person, but I am a beach person that likes outdoor tables and nachos. Our out of town friends wanted to see a football game, and you can do that easily here with four different games going on all the various screens. What you can’t do is hear when the place is packed.
My friend and I, our ears ringing, retreated to the empty outdoor tables, had prompt pleasant service and nachos, plus their good happy hour wine and a Moscow Mule before the game ended and the rest of our happy group joined us (their team won). Service continued to be good, with the heaters turned on promptly as the ocean breeze popped up and our truffle fries arrived. Our out of town friends strolled to the beach after enjoying this nice addition to the Seaward scene.

The décor is fun, the service is acceptable, the food good. The location is near the beach. Parking is adequate. The crowd, eclectically mixed. And there are no negative points. But, over all, it is a pretty average place to grab a beer and a burger.
Which seems like a crappy thing to say, but there just wasn’t a stand out reason why I’d go back.

Social Tap is a fun local sports bar with an awesome trivia night and good vibes. I think the food’s pretty good, the service is almost always great and the atmosphere is real chill. They’ve got some great beers on tap and the chef and owner obviously care about their restaurant.
My prior review of Social Tap was limited to, what I believe to be was, an anomaly with their service, which you can see below.
Shortly after posting, I received a message from the owner, who apparently reads and takes to heart these reviews. He and the chef were more than upset and embarrassed by the anomaly and have since made things right. I’m really pleased with this because I love this place. I actually don’t get why it’s not rated higher.

I’m giving an extra star because the owner was nice enough to contact me privately and extend his apologies and reassure me that they are working to remedy the situation… I appreciate the honesty of his message and this clearly indicates to me as a customer, that he cares about his business and his clientele. I look forward to returning to Social Tap in the future.
My cousin and I ventured down to the beach an early Sunday afternoon in search of good food and conversation … Enter Social Tap a hubbub of activity ages twenty something and on… We were greeted right away and decided we wanted to take in the outdoor scenery so the hostess grabbed the menus and led the way… While I’ve walked through plenty of restaurants, I definitely felt on display here, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing for a single lady.
Once seated our waitress introduced herself and took our drink order, while the initial ordering of drinks and food didn’t take long. The length of waiting time between ordering and being served is another story. I’ve read quite a few complaints regarding the wait service, it may not be the waitresses fault in the long run, it could be the kitchen … Just a little food for thought.
Our waitress at one point approached us after an almost 30 minute wait time and said she was going to check with the kitchen on our order. I seriously wasn’t in any hurry that day, my cousin and I were playing catch up but once the waitress mentioned it we did question just what was taking so long.
I had ordered the Ranchero omelet which basically consisted of an Omelet with a chile inside and a small amount of cheese melted on top and a drizzle of ranchero sauce and a side of tortilla chips, and my cousin opted for the short stack with scrambled eggs and sausage. Now if the cook was waiting for the hens to lay the eggs I can understand the length it took to make the meal… Otherwise?
My cousin liked her breakfast, one thing I can commend them on is once they cooked the eggs they came out quite well.
Don’t get me wrong I plan to try Social Tap again, because I enjoyed the sunshine and the all around vibe of the atmosphere, and we had good service, I just may not order breakfast again.
The cost of our breakfast was average to similar restaurants in the vicinity.
