What a beautiful transformation shannon did for me. I feel and look amazing. This is true art. Thank you so much for an AWESOME job. The shampoo bowl was so relaxing .My scalp massage felt amazing. Great service, great atmosphere, great people !

I wish salons had a ‘viewing room’ like they have in teaching hospitals so interns can view a surgery in progress– it would sure make life simpler for many of us if we could watch a stylist in action to see how they do. You can read review after review and not know which are authentic and which are written by the establishment or friends. My experience with Sojourn was very disappointing, and very expensive $$$$.I had a color, bang trim and BB (my hair is very short) but obviously the price for these services is the same regardless of hair length, and a bang trim is the same price as a full hair cut.-there was no break down in cost of services rendered, so I can’t say what I paid for each service (my responsibility) I just know that I can drive a little further south, spend a lot less money, and leave very satisfied with a style that makes me happy. Not so at Sojourn

After deciding that it was time to cut my hair, I was afraid to just go anywhere. So after searching on Unilocal I came across Sojourn and reading the reviews I decided to call and make an appointment. I explained my concerns to the receptionist, she said no worries, I will book you with Shannon.
Upon my arrival I was greeted by Shannon, she was pleasant and made me feel at ease. She explained what she was going to do. Once she was done I was extremely happy. She is awesome! I have booked my next appointment with her.
Plus…I was able to get a Groupon for a haircut, conditioning and blow dry

I ve always be able to find the best of the best hair stylists ! … I found Natalie thur a friend of a friend. I have already have two of my friends going to her. Please allow me to be that person to point you in the right direction… I like her because she truly is Creative… comes so naturally for her. She manifests what u tell her. when u describe a hair cut or color… I Really-​really like the way she cuts my hair. Sincerely Lori

Thank you to Shannon for transforming me last evening. I was a new customer to the salon and only gave her minimal direction and she worked her magic on my hair. Everyone at work is raving about my hair and what a great job she did on the highlights. She was friendly and explained what a new shampoo would do for maintenance of my style. I met with Tianna for full highlights and a haircut today. Love the atmosphere and décor of the salon. Tianna had a very friendly and professional demeanor, took her time with me, gave me suggestions, and checked in with me frequently. Great service and love how my hair turned out. Highly recommended.

Had my hair done by Shannon a couple days ago and I LOVE it. I wanted to go a little lighter but still look natural and not too dramatic of a change. I showed her a picture of something I liked and she nailed it! She was so sweet and easy to talk to. She helped me decide what cut would look best on me. Everyone that worked there was so nice and the salon itself is super cute, clean, and cozy. I’ll definitely be back in the future! Love this place :)

Bought a groupon after searching for a new hair salon. Called in and spoke Sue and let her know I really needed a makeover. Haircut a spring color and she booked my appointment with Shannon, owner of the salon. She assured me that Shannon with her 25 years of experience would help me find the right look. I always feel bad for whoever does my hair because I have A LOT and it is thick. I was greeted warmly and offered something to drink while I waited for Shannon. After a quick consultation with Shannon we decided on cutting my hair and losing about 6″ and adding some warm ombré coloring. I also decided to get the Brazilian smoothing process to get rid of some frizz since my hair is naturally wavy. I expected to be here a few hours knowing I would have a lot done. My hair is the lightest I have had but I am happy with my new look! Thank you! Staff are friendly, fun, and upbeat!

I got my hair done by Shannon Levy (owner) 3 weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I found Sojourn by looking around on Groupon and Unilocal.The reviews were so top-​notch I knew I had to try it out. When I made the appointment, I knew fixing my hair was going to be a project and that Shannon was in for some work.
Last year (my first year in college) I got some box hair dye from the local CVS and dyed my hair black – something I’ve been told not to do numerous times as black is notorious for latching on to hair and never coming out. When I got tired of the upkeep from having black hair, I decided I was ready to go light again. When I went home, I met up with my aunt who previously worked in a salon and told her I’d like to go lighter. The problem was that part of my hair was black, and the rest was grown-​out roots (oh, and a bleached strand with pink residue left over from a previously purple experience). My aunt gave me highlights attempting to lighten my hair. This didn’t turn out the best, but I knew it would take some time until my hair would be lightened. Long story short, my aunt left town a couple months ago and again I was left with no one to tend to my mess of a mane.
When I showed up at Sojourn, I had highlighted black hair, highlighted natural hair, and non-​highlighted, grown-​out roots. Shannon took a look at me and I knew she was thinking what I already knew: This is gonna be a project! We talked about what I wanted and how we could realistically achieve it. She confirmed that this could take multiple visits in order to fix the damage that had been done, and I agreed that if that is what it would take then I’m all in.
What I liked about Shannon was that she didn’t just dive right in and give me highlights trying to make money off me while knowing that I would still be stuck in the same situation, but not wanting to deal with the time it would take to fix this. Shannon took her time and really thought about how to move forward, and even consulted with another stylist to perfect the process.
In the end, she ended up adding color to my hair in order to blend the black (so that there wasn’t such intense contrast like I had previously had), while also adding balyage highlights so that I wouldn’t walk out without getting a little of what I want (which was to go lighter). In other words, I walked out with lighter AND darker hair. Lighter because that’s what I requested, and Darker because that is what was necessary to correct the black color without actually going black.
All in all, I left extremely pleased and will definitely be back!
I’d also like to comment on the pleasantness of Shannon, the stylists, and staff at Sojourn. Every single person I talked to that was employed at Sojourn was extremely friendly and welcoming and it really felt like I was talking to family. This is a big deal because I’m the type of person who prefers to sit in silence at salons in order to avoid the awkward, inauthentic small talk, but these ladies really made me feel at home.
I would 100% recommend Sojourn for your next visit. Give it a try!

Shannon did such a great job on my hair. She listened to exactly what I wanted, and did the best blonde highlights I’ve ever had and perfect cut. She really took her time to perfect it. She is definitely my new hair girl in Ventura!

I love coming to sojourn for a sweet escape. The ambience is very relaxing, modern, and clean. I always go to Ashly she took me from my natural dark brown to a metallic tone, best of all it’s still healthy. I couldn’t ask for better service. I would recommend her to anyone. I love this salon. Shannon is great. She is very knowledgable and makes your hair look and feel amazing! Everyone is so nice and easy to talk to. They use great products too. I had been looking for a new salon for quite a while before finding this gem.
