We are proud to utilize SureSmile, which uses 3-D technology to move your teeth more efficiently and directly to the proper place. Wires are robotically bent based on Dr. Burkey’s specifications. SureSmile reduces treatment times by 30% or more, saving you an average of 8 months in treatment! We offer Clear or Metal self-ligating braces, Invisalign, and Lingual (invisible behind the teeth) braces. We are here to exceed your expectations!

Dr. Paul S. Burkey has been an orthodontic specialist in Vernon Hills, IL since 1985. In 1994, he relocated to his current, homelike yet high tech and patient friendly office, also in Vernon Hills. For continuity of care, you will always see the same orthodontist for every appointment. As Dr. Burkey is in solo practice, you can count on his personal attention. He is available 24 hours a day in case of emergency. Dr. Burkey has been committed to a single office location to best serve his patients.

Dr. Paul Burkey graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School as co-valedictorian & attended Loyola University Chicago, where he received a Bachelor of Science in biology, graduating magna cum laude. He is a graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry, finishing as valedictorian in 1983. Dr. Burkey pursued specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Iowa, completing a Master of Science degree with thesis and earning a Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics. Dr. Burkey is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Only a small minority of orthodontists have completed the rigorous, optional certification and examination process to become board certified. Dr. Burkey has published professional articles in both the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and The Angle Orthodontist, and he co-authored a chapter in Textbook of Orthodontics, published in 2001.
