The first time I came here I kind of liked it; came back now(maybe 2 years later?) and I don’t know if the prices were slightly raised but everything felt like it was priced 10−15% more than I would’ve paid. Given the back bookstore(where I mostly browsed) was a dusty mess, it felt overpriced. And it was very weird to see so many CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes(!) at fairly high prices — are these collectibles now somehow? Who buys them? Charging $ 4 for a VHS tape is just bizarre; they’re barely worth anything.

Stopped by last weekend after deciding to avoid the trip to my usual consignment shop in South Windsor. After consigning some items, I decided to take a look around. One Stop Thrift has a vast collection of things. From men’s women’s and children’s clothing, to antiques and collectibles there’s all sorts of things you can find here. I found home goods, furniture, kitchenware, linens, and even memorabilia. I really enjoyed looking through their books, music, movies, and records section. Lots to look at and reasonably priced, One Stop Thrift is well-organized and maintained. There’s not much of a men’s selection. I had no luck trying to find vintage stuff. Much of the store however is stocked with a great inventory of women’s attire. They have a size-able collection of plus size, maternity, and scrubs as well as a a decent amount of jewelry and accessories. Compared to other consignment businesses, One Stop Thrift does not provide print-outs or receipts which is an inconvenience if like me, you would like to keep track of what sells and for how much. And, regardless of the brand — consignor’s receive only 40% of the base selling price, which is less compared to other payouts of other shops. And lastly, all items must be left in the store for 50 days. Pick-ups are allowed only between the 50−59th day. So keep track of what and when you drop-off. Refer to their website or facebook page for regarding their policy. You can score an instant 20% off coupon by joining their online mailing list.
