On the rainiest Vero Beach night of the year, I tried Hua Xing take-out for the first time ever. Having no menu, I dropped in while making a Walmart run. Off the menu, I ordered the Pu Pu Platter($ 9.90), a quart of house special fried rice($ 7.10), an order of honey chicken($ 9.45), an order of Kam Pao Shrimp($ 10.50), and a quart of Wonton soup — free with order. Busy little place and staff speak little to no English. As Chinese is not my second language, I had difficulty in communicating with them. They advised that the order would be ready in ten minutes. A quick run to Walmart and I returned in about ten minutes. Order was ready to go as promised. Upon arrival home, I quickly determined that my order was missing the Kam Pao Shrimp, various sauces, and fortune cookies. I called Hua Xing to tell them my order was short only to be told that I should have checked it before leaving. I was also advised that if I wanted fortune cookies, I should have asked for them. Pu Pu Platter was disgusting and had none of the various sauces that typically come with the item. House special fried rice was nothing to write home about. It was heavy on the onion, and light on everything else. Only two small shrimp in the entire quart. No duck sauce came with the rice. Wonton soup was chicken broth and five noodles with scattered scallions. Had a weird taste, but maybe that’s just me. Honey chicken was dry and very bready. It was chicken, but where was the honey? Kam Pao Shrimp was totally missing, but like staff said — I should have checked the bag before leaving the store. First and last visit to Hua Xing restaurant in Vero Beach, Florida. You get one-star and are lucky to get that. Unilocal won’t allow contributors to leave no stars. /s/William E. Lewis Jr.

Possibly the worst«chinese» food I have ever ordered. Additionally, none of the employees wear gloves or hairnets. Give this one a BIG pass.

The fried rice is bland, and when I say bland I mean, t tastes like nothing. I end up putting 3 soy packets and some garlic powder if I eat at home. Other than that, they’re fast! Especially at night before closing, I mean, my food was ready in 5 minutes! They’re an ok option but I go at least 2x a month since they’re about one half mile from my house. The boneless ribs are great, get those.

Not a bad place to get traditional Americanized Chinese food. Call ahead to avoid the wait.

This was without a doubt the worst food I have ever had. !! Two bites and in the garbage it went! Thought the egg rolls would give me something but they were just as bad! 23 bucks in the trash. Lesson learned!

Quick, easy, and tasty! I was craving some crispy egg-roll goodness and my mom told me HX was pretty delicious… and she was right! HX is located right next door to Publix and it doesn’t seem to get too crowded. It’s spacious enough to take incoming orders and has enough seating if you want to wait for your food. It’s very clean on the inside and the building is kept up nicely. The menu is your typical Chinese take out and very inexpensive which is the icing on the cake. I ordered a couple pork egg rolls togo during my visit. $ 2.13 !! The staff is super friendly and they get your order out quick. Their egg rolls were fresh which implies they change their oil frequently. Being as I used to work fast food in high school I can appreciate the courtesy. I’m only in town for a couple of days so I won’t be able to check out much of the menu but I highly recommend this spot if you are looking to satisfy your taste for Chinese!

For me, a 1-star is less than acceptable. A 2-star is average, 3-star is above average and so on. That said, when it comes to restaurants close enough for me to frequent, I will give them 3 chances, before I write a review. First trip in, I’ll get something I tend to order at other restaurants of the same type, to gauge something I’m likely to enjoy. Second, I’ll order something I usually do not like, to see if they can change my opinion on that dish. Last, I’ll order something they recommend, to get exposure to something they’re proud of and see if I can taste a difference. In order to keep this short, I’ll average my findings and not mention specific entrees. Their pork dishes tend to be quite fatty, which leaves me wondering what I’m paying for. Their chicken dishes tend to be either dry, or overly-oily. The beef tends to be thin and a bit chewy. I haven’t had any fish or vegetarian dishes, so I cant remark on those. The flavors are not the best, but are within the realm of acceptance. Thankfully, nothing I sampled, was drowning in sauce, or garnish. Buying better quality cuts of meat, would do much, for this place. I’ll avoid discussing service and environment, because this is not one of those places. It’s really more of a take-out only place. All in all, you will leave this place neither terribly impressed, nor terribly disappointed. It is acceptable and average in nearly, every way.

This place was satisfactory until we found a better place(Szechuan Palace), but it definitely is convenient. Food is average, but the last 2 times I ordered, something was forgotten in my order. The Lemon Chicken is fabulous but I really would have liked a larger portion. Reasonable prices for the area.

Fast, friendly and authentic. I was very happy to see the employees and management eating the same food they were serving me. I ate in, but the delivery orders seemed quick and efficient.

Usually i come here for orange chicken but i Had honey wings and fries. The honey wasn’t really honey at all but had a sweet taste. The wings were on the«mini» side but were nice and crispy. The fries were awesome. The price was average. $ 7 and some change for 8 wings and fries. Overall I really enjoyed the food.

Good food cooked fresh. No 5 star cause the fried rice was a bit bland. But crispy veggies in yummy sauce gets a 4 from me.

Don’t have high expectations of a strip mall Chinese food take out joint, but the food I ordered here was so bad, I could not finish it. Also made me fell slightly ill the rest fo the day. I don’t usually feel compelled to give bad reviews of anything, but the food here was so bad, I had to say something this time.

Really nice family that runs the place, always throwing in a free soup or sodas if we order a lot. They have very generous portions and do not mind if I ask for no veggies in the lo mein. Take out place.
