Farhoumand Dentistry

For most of my life I hated and dreaded going to the dentist, but then I found Drs. Farah and Foad. They are incredibly kind and make me feel like a member of the extended Farhoumand family! I’ve had everything from deep cleaning to fillings and root canals — and everything in between — and have found them to be consistently compassionate and competent. They are the best!

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Farah Farhoumand for many, many years and have never been anything but completely happy with her and her compassionate and talented staff. We have had everything from routine cleanings to fillings to cavities and have always been pleased with the process and end result. The office is very modern, clean and professional. More importantly, Dr. Farah herself is such a sweet and sensitive dentist that no one need fear any pain or stress — she cares more than you will if you are in pain! We love her and her staff and will continue to go there for as long as she practices — eventually bringing our children in as well.

Dr. Farah is gentle in her demeanor and truly cares about her patients. She has fixed two cavities for me, both of which she numbed without any bruising afterwards –a huge plus in my book! I appreciate John’s contagious smile and light small talk. The office itself is clean, with large picture windows and televisions if you prefer that.

Excellent doctor. I was in town for a few days and had an emergency. They were able to get me in and took good care of me.

Avoid this place. I have been going just out of convenience. Location and technology are about the only redemptive qualities this place has to offer. Every time I go, Farah Farhoumand and her staff are always trying to grab my money. She is either finding a new cavity, suggesting teeth whitening, or running an expensive x-​ray without explaining the details of why and without providing enough information for informed consent. I don’t doubt that she has good technology. They also have a great location and view. Trusting my dentist is just more important to me than both of those things. Even if you are uncomfortable with the procedure and don’t want it, she will try to persuade you into it anyway instead of giving you all the options and letting you make an informed decision you’re comfortable with. Instead, she will try to direct your attention away from the procedures by insisting small talk. Then all of sudden the bill shows up in the mail. There was one time where I really did not want to engage in small talk, I wanted to hear more about the procedures, but they wouldn’t quit asking me small talk type of questions until I said something. Seriously? Why not just back off if someone is not in the mood? In addition to small talk, whenever she visits me in the chair, she always places her hands on my arm or shoulder (I guess to add a personal touch), but makes me feel exceedingly uncomfortable given that I am a male and she is a female. Her response was just simply that’s the way she does business. On top of that, she has also distastefuly used profanity in front of me before, which threw up a red flag for me to make sure I never bring kids to this place. And all of this is not even to mention the fact that I’ve had a complicated tooth fracture for the past 5 years that she hasn’t even tried to fix or address. In fact she has instead recommended that I visit an Oral Surgeon instead of attempting it herself, whereas every OS I’ve visited has suggested that I just use a general dentist.
I’ve never been treated this unprofessionally by a dentist before. Please save yourself the hassle and headache and just find someone else.

Thank you so much to Dr. Farah and his staff for helping me out with my TMJ disorder. The office is very clean and nice and has top notch equipment. The staff answered all of my questions and I feel very comfortable when I am there. I also was able to pin point exactly what symptoms I had and what was causing it. Overall a great experience and I’m looking forward to my upcoming treatment. Treatment is done and I feel so much better. Thank you

This is a couple of months late feedback for Dr Fuad. He performed a very successful filling on my tooth, for which other dentists had said crown job would be needed. He has a great team as well working with him at his Tysons office.

After Dr. Farhoumand fixed a cavity I went back a few months later for a regular checkup. I was told that because they had not done the first filling correctly it would have to be redone and a new small cavity had formed next to it as a result.
After initially being told that this was not a result of my own actions but rather a bad filling, I was sent a bill in the mail for over $ 200. After calling and asking why I was being charged it took 5 additional calls to get a response. I finally received a discounted bill in the mail with no explanation as to exactly what was going on.
The absolute lack of service and complete disregard for the customer was astounding. I will never be returning to Farhoumand Dental and would recommend against using it.

Perfect experience. A class staff. Professional team and the amazing part is they make sure u leave the office with a bright smile.

I highly recommend this place for everyone. The doctors are really nice and kind. They create a fun environment so you are not stressed. The office is so clean and has a great view that helps the patient to calm down and relax.

I found out about Farhoumand Dental through Unilocal.I am new to the area. I was looking for a good dentist that I can trust. On my first visit, I got my cleaning done by John, very gentle hygiene, and for my exam I was seen by Dr. Farah very sweet, caring and Intelligence dentist. She spend enough time to do my exam and I also had free ortho consultation with Dr. foad who is the brother of Dr. Farah. The front desks were so friendly and professional. My insurance was verified already and their treatment plan coordinator walked me through my dental treatment and my insurance. They also valet the parking token which is $ 3. I absolutely recommend Dr. Farah and Dr. Foad Farhoumand. Thanks to Farhoumand Dental team ;)

I needed a dentist right away. Fortunately i found Dr. Foad. He is caring and skilled dentist. I am lucky to have a found such a gentle dentist. He made me feel Comfortable b/​c i do not like pain and very Nervous around dentist.

I have been going to Farhoumand Dental since 2005. Before, going to the dentist was a torture, but now I don’t think twice about it. Dr. Farah is very knowledgeable, experienced, but most importantly attentive to your needs and sincerely cares for her patients. Anytime I have an emergency, she can see me right away and that is very comforting. The staff is also very friendly and rather accommodating. I suggest Farhoumand Dental to all of my friends. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

I’ve hard a hard time finding a good dentist in the area. Within the first few minutes here, I already had a good feeling. The office is modern, the staff is professional, and they’re very detail oriented. I saw Dr. Farah, and she was not only courteous, but took note right away of a potential problem in my mouth that no previous dentist had even noticed. It was a subtle thing she saw on the xray, but she took the time to look, which was lucky, because when she got in there to fix it, it was a lot worse than it looked on the xray. She caught something that nobody else saw that would have turned into a big problem for me; I appreciate that level of attention to detail. She really cared about making me feel comfortable and doing the job with care, and her staff is all great. Nothing was ever rushed, either. Needless to say, I’ll be going back.

This is a first class practice in a state of the art office (Tysons). Everyone is professional and very friendly.

Farhoumand Dental is the best dental practice around. If you are in the metro DC area and looking for a dentist — go there now. Plus, he’s very responsive to the needs of busy/​often gone Foreign Service Officers!
I have only been twice so far for regular cleanings and my visits were spaced a year apart. Even with that, the whole staff remembered me! Everyone is super friendly, and the environment is just comfortable — none of that cold, children-​screaming effect you can find at other dental offices.
As others have said, the technology here is state of the art. You can watch TV while your exam is going on, and X-​rays are super easy with the help of nice computers. Both of my appointments have been very comfortable and totally painless as well.
Best of all, the doctors and the staff EXPLAIN everything they are doing, how it will affect you, and what you can do to take care of your teeth in the future. For example, I was impressed because at my last appointment, a small procedure needed to be done that my insurance didnt cover. This was explained to me as well as the cost, and it was totally my decision if I wanted it or not — no pressure. I’ve had dentists in the past who just do whatever they like and then, when my insurance doesnt cover it, I pay out of pocket.
In summary, Farhoumand Dental is an incredible family practice. Everyone is intelligent, polite, and caring. You will be very happy that you chose them.

Truly enjoyed my experience with Farshad Farhoumand. The office was just remodeled and they have updated technology. The office staff was very professional and kind. The views of Tyson’s Corner are amazing! The hygienist was thorough and personable. I was very impressed. I have not had a cleaning or seen a dentist in a few years and feared that I would be lectured, but they were understanding and helpful. I would recommend the Farhoumand Family Dental practice to anyone. I have never had a better experience at the dentist! As others mentioned, it costs $ 3 to park in the garage.

I’ve been to my share of dentists as I was hit by a car on my way to work and had lots of dental work ahead of me. After a terrible exprience with my former oral surgeon (Dr. Michael Gocke) and dentist (Dr. Negar Tehrani), Dr. Farah received me with arms wide open and willing to help me in any way she could. She is such a caring person and doctor — a rarity today. She even would stay after hours to finish my treatments. I really cannot speak highly enough about her and she is a perfectionist so you will get the absolute best results possible!
I highly highly recommend her as well as her brothers. Incredible experience overall.

I have moved quite a few times. And my insurance has changed a lot as well. So I can safely say that I’ve been to my share of dentists. I found this office by picking them out of my insurance book which was a rather random process considering there were no descriptions for each entry other than the address. Upon my first visit, I found that I had to pay $ 3 for parking which didn’t set the stage well. However later I found that if you combine your visit with a lunch from New York Deli, they will give you a token for the lot. They are in the same building and their sandwiches are pretty good. The choices of dentists are brother and sister, Dr. Foad and Dr. Farah.
The office is stocked with the latest technology. Each office has a computer in the room with the current patient’s x-​ray of their complete set of teeth always visible for the doctor to refer to. The view is a breathtaking panorama of Tyson’s Corner. Dr. Foad is the most hospitable dentist I’ve ever been to in my life. He always makes everyone feel comfortable and he talks to you on your level. When in my mouth, he tells me about what he’s been learning on the Discovery Channel. So everytime I go there, not only is my mouth given the best care, but I am learning something interesting. Maybe to some that is auxilary but to me that is one of the reasons he is the best.
But to get back to what some may consider more important. There’s never any pain. He uses needles that are thinner than the standard variety so you hardly feel it enter. For wisdom teeth woes, unless it’s come in crooked or some other anomaly has occurred, he can remove it without the patient having to go to an oral surgeon. All of my procedures have been hassle-​free. There was even a time where I went to another dentist due to my insurance switching on me, and while this dentist has received numerous accolades, he didn’t feel comfortable doing routine tasks that Dr. Foad does routinely. I’ve had people tell me how bad getting wisdom teeth pulled is and that the patient should always be put under and I’ve had all 4 taken out while awake. Additonally, he’s answered every question I’ve asked in such a comprehensible way that I even ask him non-​dental questions to glean his wisdom.
All in all, there’s really nothing bad I can say about Farhoumand Family Dental. They are even open on Saturdays. I will continue to use this practice for all of my dental needs until I leave the area. I never knew how good a dentist could be but now that I know, I don’t want anything less.
