Julie’s Pooch Pad provides a personalized, unique boarding service that will ensure that your pet is relaxed, happy, and well cared for while you travel. Your dog can stay in a loving cage-​free home with a big fenced in yard to play in, with a minimum of two walks per day and lots of love and playtime in between. Only a small number of pre-​screened, small-​sized dogs are boarded at a time and are supervised 24 – 7 to ensure a comfortable and friendly environment for your pet. The dogs are boarded a real home, with no concrete floors, cages, or crates, and they can even sleep in Julie’s bed! When you’re away, your dog is able to have a little vacation of their own here at Julie’s Pooch Pad.

History

Established in 1995.

The idea for the Pooch Pad came from Julie’s personal experience trying to find care for her own small dog. She encountered the same issues all dog owners face: no available options where a small, sensitive dog could relax and enjoy companionship in a stress-​free environment. There was clearly a need in the pet care industry where small dogs could be cage-​free, among a small group of same size dogs and pampered/​supervised ²⁴⁄₇ by a pet professional in a home environment. Thus, Julie’s Pooch Pad was born.

Julie has over 20 years of experience in private dog boarding in the Washington D.C. area, and has extensive expertise in dog psychology, pack dynamics, obedience training, nutrition, health issues, etc. She is certified in in Pet CPR and First Aid, dispensing medications and injections, and is certified as a «dog expert» by Ask​.com. Julie is the recipient of the Angie’s List Super Service Provider Award, and her business was voted the «Best Boarding Business» in Vienna, VA. She has been listed in the Who’s Who in Female Owned Businesses nearly every year since establishing her business, and has impeccable ratings and reviews on almost every online listing site.

All dog care is personally completed by Julie, who is able to provide «hands-​on» care to meet any of your pet’s’ special needs, and provide constant supervision of all of the dogs. Julie’s passion is making sure that your furry friends are happy, pampered, and cared for in a safe and cozy environment.
