Every time I have been here it’s been nothing less than amazing. The food is spectacular as well as the service. This is definitely my favorite place to eat after the Japanese steak house I went to as a kid closed down. I would highly recommend going here

Went here with a group for a birthday and the staff was so unbelievably cold and rude, I’m almost tempted to recommend this place because it was so over the top it became funny. But in the end, a cold hostess and chef and glaring waitresses really aren’t ok. Food was fine.

. They never seem to answer the phone during lunch for me. Nonetheless the food is great. Place is clean. Staff is nice and helpful. They have good lunch specials. Done in 15 minutes if need be. Great place for company lunches or date for two.

We came here the night before Mother’s Day for a celebratory hibachi dinner. We brought out 6-month baby girl and we had a great time. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the food delicious, and the atmosphere great for people in our situation(the boisterous atmosphere and noise was helpful because we didn’t worry about baby’s whimpering or crying or anything like that). Totally recommend it!

I’ve got to say compared to my other Unilocaler friends; I had a much different experience than y’all did. I actually quite enjoyed myself and also enjoyed the food. My friend and I split a bottle of sake and had delicious sushi that I will remember to return to. Service is excellent and she was very attentive to her needs. We didn’t have many demands, but nonetheless, she still was there when we needed her and right on point. Too bad that I don’t remember her name because she’s worthy of a shout out on here. This place is actually very large on the inside. From out looking in, it’s very deceiving to think this place can be small. It’s opens up to the dining room where sushi lovers can gather along with bar seating and sushi bar seating. When you go in the back; you come into the hibachi tables where they have several of them. Come here for your next birthday or family dinner.

Great for lunch with the kids because it was empty! The chef was great with us and the kids. Food was good and they were good about not using too much teriyaki or soy sauce. Better than most hibachi places I’ve been to in the past!

Generally, if you’ve seen the hibachi show… you’ve seen them all. There are a few differences with this Sakura than say the one in Fair Lakes(which isn’t as good). First, the space is much bigger inside with some room to move around. If your wait is a bit longer than normal, there is a full bar. That alone, makes life much easier for me and makes this rating an easy 4 stars. The service at this location is pretty good. You’re attended to(either given a wait time or seated right away) in a courteous manner. There are plenty of tables in the back but you’ll notice the first part of the restaurant is a sushi area, which is nice to break it up a bit. The food is really good here. Everything is seasoned nicely, and they bring out PLENTY of rice. I can appreciate making sure everyone leaves nice and full. The chefs engage everyone and they also are pretty good at recognizing if you’re just there to relax and don’t NAG you about participating in the activities for the kids. I’m sorry, sometimes it’s just nice to be asked once if you want to participate and if you say give more attention to the kids, all the better for me. Great restaurant and this the location we’ll go to if we’re really looking for hibachi or have a craving — and this does happen at times.

Still my favorite restaurant in the DMV area. The staff provides excellent customer service, whether it’s at the Bar, Sushi area or the Hibachi section. It feels like the bar, where everybody knows your name. This is more than just a restaurant to me, it’s like home! With Hibachi to me it’s all about the seasoning and of course the sauce. Can you say Yum Yum sauce!!! I have traveled to a lot of places and hands down this is the best restaurant for Hibachi. The seasonsing, fried rice, shrimp and chicken are the BEST!

We’ve been here several times now and they are wonderful. I had different chefs each time and they are all wonderful. All of them are engaged and entertaining. Food is good as well. I ordered mamasan and it was light and tasty. We will continue to come here as we can. :)

I have been coming here since they were open in 2006⁄7 and never been disappointed. You can consider me as a regular here and knew some of the chefs by name. I always order the filet mignon with fried rice(comes with salad and onion soup). Since the portion is huge, i always share it with my husband. They also offer seafood and vegetarian options. While I am no longer amused with the volcano or other tricks, it is always more entertaining to watch them cook in front of you. Food can be slow if your table is still empty and they try to wait for people to fill the table, just like any other hibachi place.

I love their liver; been there multiple times, the last was a disappointment; was not as entertaining, food was little burnt; and the yummy sauce was not so yummy for the first time :’( The service was less friendly this time, maybe we got there in the wrong time. Worth the try if you’re into Japanese food, piece of advice try the liver

Sakura is conveniently located a block from the silver line metro in Tyson’s Corner. You probably have a spot near your office where you’d go if you were craving sushi. Sakura is that spot. And it’s pretty good. The lunch specials are the right amount of food for you to eat and not want to nap under your desk. You can either order off of the sushi menu, hibachi(in the back of the restaurant, buy pull probably want to nap after) or their lunch menu. The chicken teriyaki lunch gives you chicken, rice, 3 pieces of nagiri and 1 Cali roll, a potato(?) breaded something(?), miso soup, and ginger dressing salad. $ 11. I’d have it again Sakura is standard. I’m not sure how else to describe that, but it’s like any sushi/hibachi spot you’ve been to and been like yeah — that was fine.

We went to Sakura for dinner tonight and it was great. When we arrived, we did have to wait about 15 minutes to be seated because they wanted to have enough people to fill the entire hibachi table. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The chef was hilarious and everything tasted great. I got the chicken and shrimp. I also got the mushroom appetizer. All was very good. My boyfriend got the filet and shrimp and it was cooked to the correct temperature. Everything is served with fried rice and veggies that are perfectly seasoned. Overall great experience.

Always a great time whenever we visit. My toddler loves this place of course and loves the show. It’s not cheap either but the quality of the food is always better than Benihanna(sp). The Hibachi chefs are also more skilled and entertaining. Nothing else to say but… DOUBLEFRIEDRICE! ;)

Sakura is always a 10, hands down. The benefit of going to a Japanese steakhouse where they cook in front of you is 1. You know exactly what is going into the food you’re eating 2. You see how it is prepared and 3. You never have to second guess if they might have a bad night in the kitchen or lack on their cooking cause you’re there to physically see it. I love coming to this Sakura for lunch as I work in the tysons area. You get the same great experience but for a lower cost, and it’s a super fun atmosphere to have a social lunch with coworkers. I always get the filet mignon(treat yourself) with fried rice and 2(which ends up becoming 3 or 4) yum yum sauces. The lunch portion does not come with soup or an appetizer but does also include the salad and the same show you normally see with the dinner crowd. Plus it’s very relaxed and casual, not bustling like it usually is at night. Definitely recommend to come any time of day but especially lunch since you get the same great meal for a deal!

Wait, what just happened? This was definitely a last minute«ooooo, let’s try that place» the outside of the restaurant is pretty cool, the door frame is shaped like a Japanese door but the rest of it is… Ehhh! When you walk through the double and heavy doors you’re welcomed by a bar on the left and some sushi on the right. Honestly, I almost left because I thought it was a sit down Japanese restaurant. The hostess explained that the front was for sushi only and the hibachi was towards the back. It’s a very big restaurant but SUPER dirty :( Their bathrooms were very dirty and sticky from the door to well, you can picture the rest.(Double yuck)! The hibachi grills were very dirty and didn’t seemed that they were cleaned properly(which I figured out later why). The waitress came out in their cute traditional outfits which was nice and exciting but that’s where our excitement ended. The soup was good, salad good, then the main course began and it was very sloppy. Not the worst but also not the best Hibachi I’ve been to. The chef had rice flying all over the place, the meals were made out of place and he didn’t even bother cleaning the area that well. I was so lost by everything that was happening that I don’t even remember my night! I’m not going to suggest for anyone to either go or not go here only because I know you can find better but they’re also not the worst. Hope your experience is better than mine :)

Fresh sushi and great for a reasonably-timed sitdown lunch. On weekdays, they have a lunch special of $ 11 for two rolls(6 pieces per order). The proportion is not overly heavy on the rice too, which I applaud them for. Whether or not they have a lunch special, I like to do the sashimi appetizer(6 pieces total of yellowtail, tuna, and salmon) for $ 7.50 with a $ 5 – 6 roll. This leaves me satisfied but not overly full. Fish is fresh and perfectly cut! Spicy rolls are not the leftover fish crud either! I’ve also had the rainbow roll and salmon skin rolls before. Thin slices but nice in terms of fish coverage; also, they got overly generous with the kani(fake crab) stuffing which overpowers the delicate taste of the fish. Salmon skin is crunchy and medium-large size. I’m not a teppanyaki fan and wasn’t overly impressed by theirs. So I’ll stick with the sushiiii
