Lovely. The perfect birthday dinner venue for my significant other, who smiled ear to ear throughout the meal. Extremely reasonable prices considering the food – they have a fixed price menu for $ 18. I had a perfect house salad(including a homemade dressing, some sort of crumbled cheese, cranberries, and walnuts), a unique chicken spaghetti dish with a basil cream sauce, and out of this world crème brule. The chocolate mousse was also very good, but the crème brule… I wlll dream about it. I almost forgot! The wine — a Carminiere — best glass of wine I’ve had in a very long time. Also perfect. More perfect than the salad and the crème brule.

I was taken to Blue Brick for my Birthday a few nights ago. I’ve been hearing about this place for some time, but for whatever reason never made a serious effort to check it out. A shame, I only live about 20 minutes away. In general, Villa Rica is fairly disappointing when it comes to the grub scene. Please, no «Gabe’s» references… if that place blows your mind you need to work on your palette. For the price range($ 20-$ 25 entrees), Blue Brick is top notch in its class. I would even recommend this to my friends in the Atl. Actually, this is probably the ONLY place I would recommend in the VR area. Basically, here is the deal. It’s in a really strange location. It appears to be a house with two levels and everything at ground level is dedicated to the restaurant while only part of the upper level is for dining. From the outside, you’re not going to be impressed; when you walk in though, you will be quite surprised. The menu, while limited in scope, should have something for everyone. Steak, chicken, seafood, soup, salads, etc. They happened to be serving pheasant as one of the two specials(the other was haddock) and I ended up going with French Onion soup and the Pheasant. My brother went with the duck and dad the haddock. We also ordered some pastry dish that had a creamy seafood sauce with very tasty/fresh scallops and crawfish. I can’t say enough about how great the meal was. Top notch! Everything was cooked absolutely to perfection and presented nicely. Nothing too fancy, but not exactly«simple» either. I tried everything and EVERYTHING was delicious. By far, the French Onion soup was the best I’ve ever eaten. The pheasant was amazing. There was some kind of «pole» beans as a side that had a delicious garlic glaze. Honestly, I can’t fault anything at all about the food. The service was actually really good. I guess the only thing that got on my nerves was a couple of «regulars» carried a mega-snooty attitude around the place. Highly recommend this place!

While the food is awesome and atmosphere great, the staff is less than pleasant. I’ve been here three times and the third was unfortunately my last. The sign said they opened at 5:30pm, so my husband and I arrived at 5:40pm and found the door to be locked. The lady came out and said(very rudely) that they don’t open until their first reservation, which happened to be at 6pm, but sarcastically said she«guessed she could go ahead and let us in». So sorry to have bothered you and made you open your restaurant and then dropped $ 110. If you’re by reservation only, then say so. And don’t be rude to customers who spend a nice chunk on dinner. You lost a great customer.

Tucked away off a street is a restaurant no bigger than a house. Look for the mailbox with«215 Blue Brick» on it, turn in, and smile as the world disappears. Whatever the hustle and bustle of the outside world, enter this small establishment and feel the laid back calm of the place take you over. The menu says they encourage lingering, which is great if you are with a group or with someone with whom you’re trying to connect. The menu is small and seasonal, with specials that change daily. Don’t let the size of the menu discourage you. They do each menu item very well, and it has the essentials you are craving. The hors d’oeuvres are nicely priced at $ 6.00 and come with an astonishing amount of food. While we’ve heard great things about the Mussels, we ordered the Pomme De Terre(potatoes with truffle oil and Parmesan) instead. What I had expected was perhaps 10 steak french fries drizzled with oil and cheese. Silly me, I should have expected much more! Instead, a large bowl of what reminded me of shaved hash browns mixed with scallions, with hints of salt and Parmesan arrived. Two of us ate until we were nearly full, our lips glistening with truffle oil, and we had only cleared the mound on top away. It was as if the bowl had just been placed before us. The Hangar steak comes with a frivolous steak knife, as the steak is so tender a knife is not needed. His Croque Monsieur is a thing of beauty. A hot ham and cheese sandwich sounds simple enough, but nothing here is what is expected. Put away those visions of mom’s white wonder bread sandwich with lunch meat from the cafeteria. No, this is much, so much better than that. And the salads? Homemade balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing, with ingredients such as dried cranberries, walnuts, and feta cheese over spring mixed greens. Or, if you’re a fan of bleu cheese dressing, try the Bleu, which has the sharpest, loudest bleu cheese dressing I’ve ever tasted poured over crunchy romaine lettuce and garnished with sweet blueberries. The atmosphere is nice, the server is genuine, and the chef seems to enjoy his job. They say a good meal involves love, and if you watch carefully, you may see the server and the chef kissing. It seems this restaurant embraces everything French.
