Never had a problem with Alvis. My family has done business with these guys for years…
(to other review– If you don’t know anything about sound/​audio, then you shouldn’t rent equipment to dj. If your going to bitch about $ 50 then go pick it up yourself!)
Alvis Music has been supportive of local musicians and DJ’s for as long as I can remember. I would not hesitate to go there for any need, big or small…

Another reviewer can provide a more balanced review of store and staff, as admittedly we were «just passing through,» but we didn’t get what we paid for here and were greatly inconvenienced by this on our wedding day. We paid for delivery and setup but equipment was left in a pile on the lawn due to concerns it would rain (how does leaving it on the lawn make that better?). Setup is not that hard but not what the groom wants to do the morning of his wedding. Cables weren’t what were required, requiring a return trip to the store anyway. Owner would not make good on refund of delivery/​setup charge, as «the money was for gas» for the delivery/​setup person whom he already paid. No 15 minute drive uses $ 50 in gas, so this charge is obviously inflated, especially considering they delivered the wrong cables and set up nothing. Buyer may be well-​served, but renter beware.
