B & R Appliance Service Inc

My husband and I own a myriad of properties in the Hampton Roads area as well as a business. Over the years we have utilized B & R Appliance numerous times. We were very happy with their service until they services my washer in my business. They charged me to move the washer over to the left but they did not actually do the labor. I personally went into their office and spoke with them regarding the oversight. They did remove the charge as I sat in their office until we worked out that they charged me for labor that they did not perform! This event occurred January 2015.
Three weeks ago, I had an issue with my washer so I called B & R Appliance. The office manager answered the phone. I spoke with her about the washer. She hesitated and stated that there was a labor issue. I stated that I had spoke with her about the issue and it had been resolved. She placed me on hold and never returned. When I called back, she picked up and hung up!
The overcharge on the labor was resolved. They were going to get more business because we worked out the repair. NOW, we will be using At Your Door Appliance 757−471−0275. Joshua Johnson was very helpful! B& R Appliance’s staff is rude and Larry specifically is not an honest person! B & R Appliance thinks they lost just one customer but they lost ALL of our rental properties! Good Riddance!

Had this company come out for a repair and asked to be called while the technician was there to find out what the problem was and if I wanted it repaired by him. I actually got a call from the technician telling me what time he would be out there and reiterated to please call me once he found the problem. I never received a call. Now, I get the bill and not only am I charged $ 59.95 for a diagnostic fee but another $ 70 in labor to unclog a drain line. When I called the office, the lady was rude to me and not apologetic at all for the repairman not calling me prior to fixing it. Her comment was «Well, since it was a quick fix and under $ 150 he didn’t need to call you or maybe he was very busy that day.» $ 130 is a lot of money to most people (probably including her if she had to pay it out of her own pocket) so making a rude comment like that to a customer is just unacceptable. I will be looking for another appliance repair person in Virginia Beach for my rental units and suggest others heed my warning and read the second review on here about the company. They overcharge and are sneaky about it. Plus, being rude to customers on the phone seems to be a track record with them as well.
