Bayside Tramission and Auto Repair

The owner here is so kind. I’ve been to this shop twice to have my car looked at. The first time he filled my power steering fluid for free and the second time he fixed my AC and told me I didn’t owe him anything and that it was a «gift to baby» (I’m 20 weeks pregnant) I almost hugged him. I trust what he says and really appreciate that he takes the time to explain what’s wrong with my car and how he fixed it.

I received a quote for radiator replacement directly from the owner/​manager just 3 days ago. He kept urging me to «Bring it on in!». Then today I brought it in first thing in the morning and dropped it off. He called me an hour later and said he couldn’t do the same repair at that price. He did not seem at all bothered by the fact that he was not honoring a quote that he provided me. BOGUS

There are few consumer experiences more frustrating than the feeling that you’re getting screwed by an auto repair shop.
Bayside Transmission, just off the Northampton ramp on Shore Drive, was recommended to me by a friend a while back and now I will not take my car anywhere else if I have a series issue.
The owner/​manager is this Middle Eastern guy named Chilebi. He’s honest, he’s efficient and he’s reasonably priced. Scratch that… he’s cheap, but not so cheap that you doubt you’re getting what you’re paying for.
When my last car needed what I knew for a fact was at least a $ 1,200 repair, he said he could do it for a little less than I’d been quoted elsewhere but that if it were his car he wouldn’t waste his money (at that point my car wasn’t worth that much). I didn’t. I bought a new (used) car and donated the old one to a charity.
He has never steered me wrong and he does great work.
