Established in 2005.

Garrett Law Group, PLC was founded in 2005 by two new law school graduates. Beginning with a focus on traffic tickets and uncontested divorces, the firm has grown into a full service family law and criminal defense law practice.

Our divorce and child custody attorneys have had success in handling simple uncontested divorces, to complex litigation involving large estates, real property, and creative child custody arrangements.

The criminal defense lawyers of our firm have represented individuals in cases of small traffic infractions to major felony cases such as robbery, sexual assault and homicide.

Business Owner

James Garrett was born and raised in Virginia. After an 8-​year enlistment in the U.S. Army, he attended and graduated law school at UNLV in Las Vegas NV. After graduating law school in 2005, he was the founder and managing partner of Barnes & Garrett, LLC in Virginia Beach. In 2012, he established Garrett Law Group, PLC.

Mr. Garrett practices exclusively in criminal defense law, including traffic and DUI defense.
