As long as I’ve lived in VA Beach, I can’t believe I have ignored this place until this year. I may have visited here 2x last week because the ice cream is sooo good. Nice and creamy, I love mixing the Peanut Butter Icecream with Vanilla, and to top it off like the chubby kid I am, with rainbow sprinkles. The staff is so nice and the ice cream hits the spot every time. If you are feeling real froggy, get your favorite ice cream in a chocolate dipped cone. again with sprinkles and you’ll thank me later :)

Amazing ice cream, my husband and I frequent this place every time we come here on vacation! The only con is the high price but it’s the beach so you expect the prices to be higher

Usually I visit the location in Point Pleasant, NJ but I was in Virginia Beach for training so I thought I’d compare this location to NJ. There seemed to be one on every other block but I only visited the one location. I got my usual, an orange/vanilla twist, which tasted just like it came from the Jersey shore.

Good but so much ice cream my dip cone melted fast and the chocolate fell off lol. Still very tasty and would recommend! I got the regular size, maybe get a small so I can eat it fast enough next time!

Friendly, efficient service and good frozen custard. Multiple locations at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Good way to cool off on a hot day.

There are many ice cream places to chose from on a hot day in Virginia Beach, I will be the first to admit that. Yet I was drawn toward This place, perhaps it was the classic soft serve machines and the easily accessible entry. I was satisfied by this decision the moment I had my first taste. Creamy and flavorful custard… on the level with Culvers! There are a handful of flavors, some swirls, and toppings. I had the mint/chocolate swirl, and another person in my group had peanut butter/chocolate. Refreshing that’s for sure!

Not Honey Hut but when it’s 95 degrees… Any port in a storm, it’s machine soft serve, kind of like what you get at Dairy Queen… Little pricey but it hit the spot! They’ve been around since like 1912… But you’d think they’d offer more of a high end product… But no…

It’s like vanilla and chocolate cool whip on a waffle cone. I’m getting a dipped cone next time. Not much to choose from, but definitely worth a try.

We got waffle cones — I had peanut butter and vanilla. Peanut butter was ahhhmazing and the vanilla was ok. Just get ready for a lot of custard — we had to toss our cone 2⁄3 of the way through because we just couldn’t eat anymore.

I scream, You scream, we all scream for … frozen custard. That’s pretty much how we feel on a humid, Saturday evening along Virginia Beach. I didn’t get the history lesson like Marc A., but if you have an extended stay at Virgina Beach, you might as well taste a little bit of history. Kohr’s offers a variety of interesting frozen custard flavors(including mint/chocolate swirl or strawberry/banana swirl) or you can stick with the classic vanilla/orange sherbet swirl. I would agree that the frozen custard(not sure how much it differs from soft-serve ice-cream) is alright at best and only slightly better than Dairy Queen. But frozen custard is frozen custard and nobody turns down a frozen treat at 11pm. Bottom Line: Go for it, be a kid, you won’t regret it. [Original Visit: September 5, 2009]

I guess I’m just not a custard fan. I had peanut butter it was weak. My wife had a waffle cone that was dipped in chocolate and had nuts on it with peanut butter and chocolate, The thing had a greasy taste if you ask me, my wife liked it but the thing cost over 7 bucks. Could of had a V8

What can I say? It’s a half decent ice cream place located on Virginia Beach. The ice cream is alright and the prices are pretty reasonable. It’s basically a nicer dairy queen. It won’t rock your socks off but if you need your ice cream, this is a pretty good place to spend your dough at. However, the staff here is pretty funny. The guy who served my small group kept talking about Kohrs, how it was better than dairy queen. They use Grade A milk, the company was started by a school teacher, it was made famous in 1919, they’ve been around forever, etc etc. The guy would not shut up about how great the company was. He even showed us brochures about the different locations and everything else. Personally, I think he was lonely. The off season at Virginia Beach can be heart breaking it seems.
