Magic of Art Studio is Hampton Road’s premier provider of adult and children’s art classes and workshops, private and group art lessons, and a unique Summer Art Camp. The professional and entertaining classes are available to anyone ages 7 – 107! Our mission is to develop the natural artistic abilities of each student using professional technique and materials, while nourishing his or her unique imagination.

Without disturbing the students’ unique vision of the world, Magic of Art teaches the classic basics of drawing and painting. The small classes (never more than eight people) allow the instructor to focus on the individual needs of each student.

Many Magic of Art students move on to specialized art schools and win national art competitions. Several of our older students have been also accepted to prestigious art academies nationwide. Please visit our website for more information!

Established in 2007.

Magic of Art Studio was founded in the summer of 2007 after artist Tatiana Retter realized the area’s need for a specialized, focused and professional art school.

Meet the Business Owner

Tatiana R.

Business Owner

Tatiana Retter has a Masters Degree in Art and Graphics. She graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, and has worked as a painter and book illustrator, including illustrating children’s books. Tatiana loves working with children and established the Magic of Art curriculum based on a very individualized and personal approach centralized on each child’s individual needs and interests.

If your child loves to draw, color, or work with modeling clay, he/​she will have tons of fun working with Tatiana. Students use a variety of real art materials to learn the basic skills of drawing, painting and craftsmanship. An exciting journey into the magical world of art awaits your child!
