Massage Envy Spa

The past couple of weeks have been super stressful, so I made an appointment to get a massage. I was paired up with Anna and she did wonders on my neck, shoulders and lower back! In fact, almost four days later, my lower back is still feeling pretty good! (The shoulders… eh… not so much.) Between the stress of planning a wedding and drama at work, you can believe I will be in more often!

My girlfriend and I were out doing some shopping in this area.
We went from shopping, to Starbucks, and then decided that we would go get a massage.
All we wanted was a massage after a long day on our feet.
We walk in and the counter-​culture juveniles behind the counter started hitting me up to buy memberships. No matter what we said, everything came back to a membership. I was then told… we’ll give you and introductory massage at a special rate, but next time we go back, the massage will be this really high amount (I forget what she said) if we don’t buy a membership.
Fine. At that point, I had already made up my mind I won’t be back. Not only that, I didn’t realize this place was an employment factory for lesbians. It made my girlfriend uncomfortable. They were looking at her all googly eyed and she felt they were flirting with her.
Our massages were only middle of the road.
It’s something where if we were in the area, we would of maybe tried again. However, the pressure to buy memberships and the counter-​culture front desk staff turned us off so much, we will never step foot in that establishment again.
Sorry, it’s about the massage and not about extracting money from the customer and flirting. We both agreed we should of just stayed in the Starbucks

I’ve been a member here for over 3 years. I’ve had numerous masseuses work on me and it’s hard to find someone that knows where I need to be worked in the right way. (I’m not meaning that to sound dirty) I have shoulder and hip issues and each employee has their own routine. If you don’t like something, feel free to tell them. I’ve had times in this place that I said that I’d never come back and I’ve had times that I immediately wanted to do another session.
The tranquility room seats have a lot of give by the way. You’ll feel like you’re about to sit on the floor if you’re not ready for it. They are soft though!
Something that could be a help is a small water fountain for noise over the people playing on their phones or rustling the newspaper/​magazine. And an added bonus, it would make you think about hitting the restroom before your session so you’re not in agony half way through your time of tenderizing.
I had my first hot stone massage the other day. It was amazing! ;)

I finally gave in tonight and did the 2 hour massage with Kerri and signed up for the membership. Kerri got all the knots out of my back, half of them I did not even know about at all. I made a third appointment with Kerri again before I go on vacation to Ireland. I can not wait until my next session with her again! She truly has magical hands!

Started getting my prenatal massages there from Alex and she was great hope she’s enjoying her maternity leave.
Now my massage therapist is Ana and she is just so enjoyable to talk to. I enjoyed my first massage so much I got a membership.

New to the area this location was near where I work. The price I was quoted for membership was more then fair. The facility was very clean and relaxing… And the staff very friendly… However as with many of the other reviews I have read, the person that did my massage simply didn’t listen. She asked if the pressure was ok and when I said no, I wanted her to lighten up she did, but only briefly. My main issue is my lower back, but in 90 mins less then 10 mins was spent there. And while I don’t want to be rude, I do NOT want to talk during it. Even though I liked the price of the membership I am looking to get out of it.

Very clean location and relaxing environment. Friendly staff. Great massage therapist. A little pricey if you aren’t a member. Difficult to schedule prenatal massage, but well worth the wait. I would definitely recommend them. Very professional.

I’m a member, but I’ve only gone to this location 3 times. Masseuses can be hit or miss, I booked a 90 min a couple of weeks ago and wanted a good stretch. That appointment was disappointing, I got a decent back rub but she didn’t do much with my legs and gave me a stretch that I could have stayed home for. All turned around today though, I booked a 60 min but I wish I would have done 90 instead.
Bee Jay specializes in sports therapy and I’ve heard nothing but good things about her. She killed my hips and I felt completely loose. Gave me some home stretching tips to look up as well. I tried to book my husband with her but she was pretty booked for the rest of the month. However, I will be back next month to see her. Great job, I highly recommend her.

I haven’t had a massage in about 6 years and after moving, my husband and I decided to get a massage together. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to make an appointment. I probably would have given 5 stars but my massage therapist completely skipped my lower back which I told him at the beginning was where I was having the most pain. Other than that the massage was great, but he obviously didn’t pay attention to what I told him in the beginning. My husband’s massage therapist was great though. I think I would consider going back, but to a different therapist.

More of a 3.5. It’s been a year since I’ve received a massage. I’ve gotten massages at a few privately owned places (thanks to groupon/​living social) some were a hit and miss, but still haven’t found a place that was consistent. Which is why I felt that going to a chain would lead a more promising experience for me.
I went spontaneously and out of curiosity (around 5 on a Thursday) to make an appointment. If it’s your first time, they give you the «membership» price which is 50% the regular. I decided to do an 1.5 hour session which is about $ 70. The lady at the front desk named Kiera (if I remember correctly) was very nice and helpful.
I’ve received Swedish massage and hot stone therapy in the past. The hot stone worked wonders for me, on the contrary, the Swedish left me feeling the same. Every time I tell my therapist to use deep pressure, they never do! I don’t know if it’s because I’m small and they don’t want to break me or whatever but I am tenser than a brick wall. I NEED TO BE WORKED ON PEOPLE.
I have a lot of stress and pain in my upper back area, shoulders, and neck. I run regularly and mix in a bit of cross fit. I am also a waitress and student so I’m constantly carrying stuff and always on the go. I specifically told my therapist Jae, to work on those areas.
The massage rooms are clean and well kept. What I liked about massage envy were the heated massage tables. Jae told to let her know when I needed more pressure or not. She did some work in my neck, but couldn’t get all of it because it was coming from my back. My back hardly got worked on and that’s where I needed it the most :(In the beginning she hardly used any pressure on me, then in the middle I told her to use more and she did. When my appointment wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. Overall I left feeling half relaxed and half tense. Not sure if I would ever come back, especially being that price would issue be an issue for me. (sigh) If only I could drop $ 60 a month for unlimited massages. I think for now I’ll stick to those privately owned.

I’m in town for a few months and this is my spot for massages. I usually schedule one every two weeks for an hour or hour and a half sessions. I can usually call the day before and make an appointment as I am usally flexible with the time and massage therapist.
The ambience is relaxing. Low lights and soothing sounds help you to unwind. Every therapist I’ve had has been fantastic and truly professional.
They will target areas that are causing you pain so be sure to communicate as the massage goes on, it is quite easy to fall asleep.
It’s a bit price but it is worth it in my opinion. Definitely worth a try.

I am a member and pay $ 59.99 a month, however I transfer it to my husband every 6 months so he can get a good massage. Today is our anniversary and booked an appointment for him but everything went downhill. He got home and I asked him how was it and gave me a faint answer of «It was ok». Knowing my husband he doesn’t like to be rude. But since I am the one who is a member he told me that the massage he was asking for wasn’t the one that they concentrated on. Instead they concentrated on his extremities versus points of stress which he addresses when asked during interview. I was disappointed but got more furious upon talking to the guy manager. He basically just said that he can’t compensate my husband for one hour massage but would give him 30 mins since we said «it was ok» (coz we are trying not to be rude). All I want is to redo everything and make my payment worth it but he won’t budge. I understand if it was a freebie one hour but it wasn’t it was damn paid and deserve to get what is worth for. I will never renew my contract with them. The Manager need to be trained for proper customer service coz instead of calming us he escalated the issue.

I’d give this place 5 stars only because of Mandy’s great massage and customer service, but my only complaint is that their bathroom water supply sucked. Their water was running sooooo slowly that I was stuck trying to flush their toilet for about five minutes. Their sink barely had water too. The inner waiting room was small but warm-​looking and cozy. Mandy is one of the best massage therapists I have ever met at a Massage Envy location.

Wasn’t feeling a lot of «envy» for members of this business after going a «relaxation» massage this weekend. I really don’t think their membership deal is much of a «deal» at all. $ 60.00/hour is pretty much the going rate around here, so their membership rate of $ 59.99/month is no draw for me. Their deal is $ 39.99 for the first time you go. If you ever go back again, without becoming a «member», you will be charged a minimum of $ 79.99/hour.
The environment has your typical average massage spa feng shui. Nothing in particular that moved my Qi. The rooms are pretty bare. The massage beds are heated and everything seems to be very clean, which is a big plus.
However, let’s get to the massage. I realize this is an individual experience, but let me tell you about mine. I went in telling the therapist that I was looking for a relaxing experiencing, just an overall de-​stress relaxation massage. What I got was an hour of trigger point massage (which I looked up on their website to figure out what it was she was doing). This must be a fairly new trend in massage therapy, since this is the second massage (first one at a different spa) that did this type of massage. In replaying my conversation with the therapist, I recall her saying, «You’re in IT, so you use these muscles (demonstrating arms and neck). You probably have a lot of stress in these areas.» I assume she decided I needed trigger point massage over the relaxation massage that I requested.

I paid for an annual membership and about 6 months into the membership I stopped going because of my back problems. I was afraid of tweaking something in my back again. I was informed that after the annual membership, the membership would automatically expire. That was not the case. The membership turns into a month to month membership. I proceeded to cancel my membership, thinking I would still have the remaining 6 massages to use at my own leasure. However, I was sadly mistaken. Once you cancel you have 30 days to use any remaining massages. There was no way I was going to use that many massages within 30 days and not tweak my back again. I argued with the manager and she gave me a courtesy 90 days to use all remaining massages. I guess I didn’t read all the fine print in my contract. I don’t think anyone ever does until they are in a certain situation. As convenient as using any Massage Envy location sounds, don’t forget that they will charge you $ 10 to transfer that massage over. A few times I’ve had the receptionist charge my card instead of my husband’s card when he is clearly handing her his credit card to add gratuity. My last gripe would have to be not getting the full time for your massage. They are always running 10 – 15 minutes behind and they end the session about 10 – 15 minutes early. You are not getting what you pay for. Even membership prices are pretty expensive. The massages are amazing, but I’ll find another company that isn’t trying to overcharge and give you misleading information.

Used to be a member here for a couple 6 month terms. It is certainly pricy, even for membership, but convenient near my home. However, the main reason I quit was because of the amount of times my massages were shorted. I’d come in my scheduled time and they would start 5 – 10 minutes late and end the massage 5 – 10 mins early at times. It varied from massage to massage, but in the end I was losing 10 – 15 minutes per paid massage. This has never happened to me at another massage place and the reason I no longer go here. If I pay for an hour, I should get a whole hour. Not 45 – 50 mins. This happened to my wife there too.

I’ve never had a massage before and I had no idea what to expect. When I first walked, I was instantly greeted by both employees working the front desk. They were both friendly in helping me get situated. I think they kept smiles on their faces the whole time, which was good because it helped set a happy mood.
There’s a small waiting area close to the front desk where you fill out your forms, and I found that those seats were pretty comfy. Then they took me to the back to wait in the room that had a more relaxing vibe to it (I forgot what it’s called). The seats were leather and cushiony and quite comfortable as well. I didn’t have to wait long before getting called back.
I don’t know what I was expecting to see when I walked into the room. It was dark, small, and pretty ordinary. I didn’t mind at all. It helped me relax a bit more. Anyway, so the massage went well. I think towards the end I actually fell asleep.
Anyway, so if it weren’t for the cost. I think I’d come back every month for a massage.

Just the BLUF, I’m going back.
I’ve had massages all over the mundo, good, bad and indifferent, this was the best sports deep massage I’ve ever had. Stretching and a lot of locate and destroy on knots in my hams and my really tight calves, whoa!

I’ve been going to Massage Envy for a year now. The therapists are hit or miss and you definitely have to try a bunch out before finding one (s) that are a good fit for you.
Me…my shoulder & neck muscles are somehow petrified from accumulated stress. So, I need someone who can pay really good attention to those areas.
My recs for great sports massages and/​or shoulder/​neck/​scalp tension… Emily or Tasha. You can’t go wrong with either of these ladies. Emily is fab and totally listens to you. I don’t know how many therapists I’ve seen and said that my shoulders need a lot of attention only to walk out with the same tension. Tasha gives a great sports massage and I have fallen asleep (I woke up once… to my SNORING)…and this even AFTER all the various contortions she puts me through. There is one more therapist who I would love to recommend but the last time I saw her she totally talked my ear off and I could barely concentrate on my massage.
