This is based of Brett and solely Brett. This man was supposed to do my tattoo today after waiting about two months so I was very excited. When o walked in he had just started the tracing and it looked like complete garbage. He was literally waiting until the last minute when during our meetup he said he would send me an email or text of how his design is coming. Needless to say he threw a baby fit when I told him I didn’t want it and I said I would get something else. He refused and said he would not tattoo me. Don’t go to Brett he sucks. However in terms of shop and the rest of the people I give it a five star.

I can not stress enough on how amazing this place is. I went in this place less than 24 hour ago and I am extremely happy with my outcome. I was welcomed by the hot receptionist (inside joke) and she was simply the best. At first we thought my tattoo was almost not going to happen but she made it work. She photo shopped it and did all she needed to do to make it work for me. She was fun to talk to and made everything at home for you. The place is spotless and open. My tattooist who I can’t remember his name was also amazing. He knew I was nervous because I was getting the tattoo under my arm and he made me relax some. He worked fast, he talked to me while doing the tattoo and made sure I was doing alright. I am in love with my tattoo and I couldn’t be happier. I will be coming to this place from now on and if you are looking for a sharp and awesome tattoo, come here!

This is the BEST place I have ever been. Me and three friends dropped in on a Thursday night and had an idea about matching tats. (We’ve been friends for 30 years) Truth be told, we visited another place first and the guy there said we were cliché and what we wanted ‘had been played out’. When we came in, Allie at the front desk could not have been nicer or cuter. She said that she understood and that no one should tell us what is important to us. She even sketched our idea and texted it to our Artist, Matthew Clarke. He agreed to take us on in the morning.
Matt (who is very easy on the eyes, ladies) took us under his wing and took the time to understand the meaning and reasons for our tattoo. He took our two tattoo ‘Virgins’ first, and set them at ease. He handled us with his instrument and he did satisfy ALL FOUR of US! Matt is the man. Megan was behind the desk on Friday and she was super fun and kept us in line.
The shop is meticulously clean, well run and everyone was friendly. Matthew Clarke is a traditional tattoo expert… he went ahead and did our simple tattoos and didn’t judge. I HIGHLY recommend this shop and personally recommend Matt. Charming and talented. I’ve already passed his card to one of my friends to come see him!

My lame bff and I decided to get some really cliché friends tattoo. And usually this kind of crap is scoffed at. We were treated very nicely by the front counter girl, who was super hot! We loved the art work and décor in the studio. Especially the painting of Matt Damon over the counter jkjk
The studio was SUPER clean which is always a serious plus and our artist, Brett (? I think was his name) was VERY accommodating, laughed at our stupid jokes, dealt with all our nonsense, helped to figure out exactly what we wanted without that whole tattoo artist assholery that I have previously experienced, and did a great job on the tattoos.
Thanks again red 5, you will DEFINITELY be seeing our silly selves again soon. (They’re probably thinking oh god again??)

Thank you Carl for the awesome half sleeve! Went in to work after getting the tattoo and it’s incredible how many people fell in love with the great job you did! Couldn’t be happier!

Went in last night to get my first half sleeve with Carl. Holy shit, it was so worth it. I came in with a picture of a Wolf I wanted done and while he thought it was a great picture, he was able to use his creativity and experience to decide to change up the picture. It ended up being 1000x better than I could have ever imagined. The shop itself is very clean and has a extremely professional feel to it. While getting the actual tattoo I was able to take breaks, was offered beverages, and even got to watch a movie. It made me feel comfortable which made the tattoo such an easy process. The end result was amazing. Thank you to Carl and everyone over at Red5 for a piece of art I’ll appreciate for the rest of my life.

This place was awesome! The girl working up front was so nice and more than helpful. She helped me figure out all the little details and was so nice. This place is super clean and affordable. My tattoo artist was Lorin and he was nothing but professional. I would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely be back when I need any future work done.

Lorin was awesome! Very professional and a true gentleman. I live in Richmond, but will drive to VA Beach for him to do any future tattoo.
