Sentara Urgent Care

Unfortunately my experience was not so great. I selected this location basing my decision on the website which has you believe there is minimal wait. I arrived early, had my paperwork completed and got to the room fairly quickly. Then the wait was 45 minutes before a PA walked in!

Everyone was super nice and helpful. I like the new online check in that makes your wait not as long.

I wish I had treated Sentara Urgent Care as my first choice and not a second opinion. I would have saved myself time, money, nerves, and a sinus infection.
I love the system they have in there. You sign in and wait until your name comes to the top of the television they have mounted on the wall. I’ve never seen that before. It was kinda fun seeing names being added and whatnot. Kinda made me feel special. The staff is really, really nice. The women working the front desk kind of felt like family. They had that old southern lady air about them.
The nurse who took my vitals didn’t screw up my weight or height. Thank goodness, I’m tired of people telling me I’m taller or skinner than I actually am. My doctor was great. She actually listened to what I had to say and didn’t shoot me up with needles as soon as I walked in. I’m pretty sure she could tell I was in pain. I spent a whole week with a sinus infection misdiagnosed as seasonal allergies and I was miserable. Don’t ever ride a plane like that. I couldn’t pop my ears for nothing and was in pure agony for two hours. Gum and yawning did nothing but worsen it.
She fixed me right up and sent me on my way with an affordable antibiotic. It’s a bit out of the way for me compared to Patient First, but next time I’ll gladly take the drive. Anything is better than how I was suffering.

I had to go in for stitches today (dog dragged me down the street on a walk) and was so pleased by the staff at this location. Everyone was really nice and professional and efficient. Couldn’t have had a better experience, thank you so much!

I usually go to the clinic in Norfolk, Little Creek which has a ridiculously long wait. I figured out I’d try one of their clinic in VA Beach and I went to this one. Overall, I spent 2 hours in the clinic including check in, getting called, the check up and the results. The staffs are all friendly and nice. I could say, that I’d definitely be back here if I need to. I highly recommend this place. All the staff, the nurses and the doctor are really helpful also.

I am so conflicted with leaving 2 stars vs. 3 stars, and here’s why:
1^st — This is an urgent care facility but there is nothing urgent about it. I arrived at 9:55 am and the parking lot already had plenty of cars in it. I thought this place opened at 10:00 am (which it does) but apparently you can get in the door sooner than 10 am and sign up to see someone. Here I thought i was getting a jump on the game by showing up «kinda» early. I was wrong, there were already 10+ people ahead of me. I can obviously only speak of today’s experience because urgent care facilities are hit or miss when it comes to your wait time. After having checked in and waiting for about an hour the receptionist told us that one of the nurses had called in and another one was on her way. Ok, so this is why it’s so backed up! I overheard another patient on the phone saying when she checked in it would be a 3 hour wait!!! HOLY MOLY! Guess I’m glad I didn’t have to wait 3 hours, but then again from my start to finish — it was 2.5 hours.
2^nd — The only saving grace and reason why I would venture to push it to 3 stars is because the doctor working today was super friendly.
Unfortunately, I believe all doctors should be friendly and an urgent care facility shouldn’t have a 3 hour wait — hence my 2 stars.
