The Belvedere Beach Resort has been family-​owned for over forty years with five generations of Sams & Willis family members sharing the experience of a Belvedere vacation. Our family has expanded as we’ve built a loyal following of guests that return with their families year after year.

Virginia Beach is well known as a family destination and the Belvedere sits right in the middle of the quiet North End of the Beach. Every one of our 50 rooms offers a private balcony with a spectacular view of the beach.

We are conveniently located by the Virginia Beach Convention Center, the Virginia Aquarium, the Norfolk International Airport and a wide variety of local shopping and dining. We are within walking distance of many attractions.

We offer complimentary use of our adult bicycles with direct access to the boardwalk and bike path along the beach. The Wave Trolley picks you up right in front of our hotel and will take you anywhere along the oceanfront you would like to go!

Meet the Business Owner

David and Leigh W.

Business Owner

Leigh is the oldest daughter of Bill and Betty Sams. Her folks built The Belvedere in 1969 along with a reputation that is hard to match. She and her husband, David, are the second generation in the family to oversee the hotel and restaurant. Five generations of the Sams and Willis family have stayed at The Belvedere over the years.
