I recently had to go into this store to purchase a new business phone because my phone had stopped working(screen went blank). I was currently a verizon customer(family plan) & using the original blackberry storm. So I asked to see a technician to see if I could get the phone fixed vs buying.(I really hate buying new phones). Of course they said I needed a new phone. Reluctantly I went for the new iPhone 4. The good part about this whole experience was that 1 of our lines had a $ 100 credit and one other was eligible for an upgrade. The bad part of this whole thing was that the two associates that were both trying to help me at the same time, were clueless. Every question that I asked they didn’t know the answer about the phone. And I’m sorry, but if your associates don’t know basic information about your newest and most popular phone(the IPhone 4) then they shouldn’t be there. I did end up purchasing the Iphone right then(I didn’t have a choice, couldn’t be without a business phone) but was left feeling very reluctant and like I had totally made the wrong decision. Especially because I wasn’t reassured that the phone would even do what I needed it to do. I think I learned more off of the comercials than from the people that worked there. Only good thing was that I could supposedly return it if I wasn’t happy. God only knows if that was really true.

I went with a friend to the Verizon Wireless place located in Virginia Beach on Columbus Street. She was looking to get a new phone – either the Motorola Droid X or the HTC Droid Incredible. The location is gigantic and must serve as some other function than a storefront for Verizon. However, the storefront section was open, so we went. A lady came up and offered to help us and soon my friend was discussing her account with her. Initially, the women told her that she would have to wait until she was eligible for an upgrade, but upon telling her that she was in fact eligible online, the woman placed a call and was able to help. We spent some time looking at the two phones side-by-side. No one really offered to help or explain anything, but fortunately we had looked at reviews online that day, so we kind of knew what to look for. Ultimately she went with the Droid Incredible. Again, there was a little confusion over the renewal, but my friend explained that she could simply order the phone online, but would prefer to be able to walk out of the store that day with it. The woman set up the whole deal. Then, right at the end, she said that she was actually out of stock and they would have to order it for her. It would be there in a few days. But… why did she go through with all that trouble if she would just have to order it anyways, the same as ordering it online? Commission? We were confused and it left a bad impression on us.
