Walmart Neighborhood Market

The people at the deli are always too busy to help. After just standing behind the counter hoping we would go away, the lady working at the counter finally came to take our order. All of this with a huge attitude. When my wife asked for the meat to be sliced a little thinner, the worker went off on a tirade ensuring we knew «they don’t slice it that way». In general, customer service is not important. I’d rather drive the extra ½ mile to farm fresh where I’m not a problem to the workers and they can continue to rob the store of regular customers.

CHECK THE EXPIRATION ON ITEMS YOU BUY HERE!
Purchased a salad that expired 2 days prior. Baking supplies that expires a few months prior.
Help your body and your family and do the job these people are obviously not doing and CHECK EXPIRATIONS!

I don’t like going to Walmart but since I was on the hunt for these Patti Labelle pie and Walmart is the only store that sells them I had to go… Argh! So, I decided just to do the Marketplace thing to help relieve some of my Walmart anxiety. See, going to Walmart is like going to get your tooth pulled without numbing it first… It’s Just bad!
Needless to say, I didn’t find the pie but at least this store was decent. The layout like all other Marketplaces is simple and smaller than the big store. It has your basic products but from what I saw the vegetables and fruits looked fresh.
It Had plenty of Christmas desserts so I will keep that in mind for that quick run. But overall, it’s a Walmart so what can you expect? Really?

Organized. Clean. Great prices. Convenient. Always a quick in and out at this location. Products are usually in stock. On my most recent visit I had trouble scanning a discounted product at the self checkout. I thought self-​checkout would be quick because I was in a rush-​it wasnt. I looked left and right looking for help, I didn’t want to walk too far away from my already scanned groceries. I found a worker sweeping and she was able to help me. I’m re-​thinking this bagging my own groceries option, but I only do it when I have just a few items.

I really like the concept of the Walmart Marketplace… you get the convenience of the Walmart prices without the hassle of going into a full-​service Walmart. With that said, I have shopped at this particular location quite frequently. The employees there are very helpful. I asked a woman who worked there where I could find formula and she stopped what she was doing and took me to that particular aisle. The customer service staff is also very helpful.
I took off a couple of stars because I did not have a good experience with the pharmacy department. The pharmacy manager was pretty rude to me. I had an issue with my insurance card and instead of trying to help me figure out what was going on with it, he flat out told me that he couldn’t fill my prescription. No customer service skills at all. (By the way… Went to the Walgreens down the street after that… They had NO problems with my insurance card).

Just a grocery… not a WALMART … no clothes or stuff. We came down, unprepared to stay. We got a hotel room at the last minute and aren’t from this area. We needed underware and a change of clothes. The grocery part is great! Just like a regular grocery store. Prices were good.

While I absolutely love the convenience of having this brand new store across the street from my neighborhood, with everything being new and fresh… the new and fresh did not last long.
Wasn’t going to post anything about Wal-​Mart, well, because it’s Wal-​Mart and can expect as such… BUT because of what I saw last time I was in there, I HAD to post and hopefully something will be done about it. I still do buy a lot of my groceries from there, but REFUSE TO BY PRODUCE because its either gone bad in a day after getting it, OR this last time I walked in there, some produce was already ROTTING ON THE SHELF! WHO IS YOUR PRODUCE EMPLOYEE? They don’t need to be fired… MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO BE FIRED for not taking responsibility for this (literally gross) negligence! Ok, enough of my rant. I still will not buy PRODUCE from there, but for the sake of others who will dare to, please change your game plan with this area of your store!

Better prices than the adjacent Food Lion… which I guess goes without saying since it’s Wal-​Mart. They should probably do something about remedying their long lines though. If you don’t get there bright and early to beat the rush expect a wait.
