Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto & Air

My wife and i both called and talked to roger about our cars cooling system issues. Was told we HAD to put it on diagnostic machine so we could know everything wrong with it. When we took it in the girl at the front counter says itll be 149 to do that and we stated no roger said 49.99. We asked him numerous times over the phone because we don’t have extra money right now. And he said yes. Only 49.99. She said ill ask roger. Well 2.5 hours later she calls back and said the 3 problems (all cooling system issues) would cost us 290 to just get diagnosed. Not counting fixing them. They lie to you to get you there and hope you’ll take their shenanigans. I told them do not touch and we will pick it up. Took it to mechanic up the street and getting it fixed without diagnostic machine. Will NEVER take a car here again. If the cant tell the truth in the beginning what else will they do?

My dying «original» alternator needed to be replaced in my ’99 Ford Ranger. Thanked Roger once again for the kind and professional service I received… as always!
It’s much appreciated when the owner himself (like Roger) comes out to the lobby to speak with you other than just the employees, to me that shows courtesy, respect, and professionalism toward the customer, old-​fashioned values I was taught by my own father.
Already drove nearly 100 miles in it already since Friday and no issues, of course!
And, much appreciated for placing my American Flag back on the truck window after it was washed! I don’t think I’ve ever seen my own truck «that» clean before! Nice job! I did a double take when I saw how clean my truck was wondering if it was mine, lol. Years ago a previous mechanic that worked on my truck in L.A. claims he «lost» my flag but found out later he was a non-​patriotic «tree hugging» SOB! He ended up paying for my flag after I made a big stink of it! Don’t mess with my Flag!
If you appreciate old-​fashioned professional service like me, Roger is the man to go to!

DON’T EVEN THINK OF COMING HERE. I just called to ask for an estimate to fix my a/​c. Roger doesn’t even let you talk. I was looking for another place to have my car a/​c fixed. The dealer costs a lot. I just have a loose connection. I tried to tell Roger what the problem was but he insists that I pay him for inspection before he tells me how much it will cost! He wont even let you finish talking! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

My dad had a great experience at Roger Vogt’s. So great that he sent this email to everyone in his GMC group and his friends & family. I suggested he review them on Unilocal,as that can really help a good, honest small business. I guess that signing up for an account was just too much for him, so he asked me to post it for him… It sounds like he works there, but I swear it’s totally unsolicited & legit. Here you go:
We had the absolute good fortune of being towed to Roger Vogt’s shop in Visalia, CA. This place should definitely be added to the GMC vendors list, for anyone traveling through central California, as they were thoroughly competent in dealing with GMC-​engine-​related issues.
Roger Vogt /​Performance Auto and Air is a total «PERSONAL SERVICE» operation. As we arrived, Roger came out to our coach, introduced himself, and assured us that we would be treated as a priority. They did, extraordinarily! Also thanks to John and Barbara, in the office, and Jacob, our «courtesy chauffeur».
To those of you who know me, you know how un-​mechanical I am. From what I can read on the box, they installed a new HEI «Flame-​Thrower» distributor (black cap). It started easily and ran sweetly from Visalia to the Bakersfield RV Resort where we will spend tonight (pool, jacuzzi, and to-​the-​coach dinner delivery).
Our service with Roger Vogt’s shop could not have been better (including free courtesy service to our hotel). My thanks to all of them, and to all of you you for your suggestions, comments, and support.
