Worthy of an update!
I found Bonpastry at the Carlsbad farmers market on Wednesday afternoons and found out they are at the one in Solana beach on Sundays as well.
The owner is lovely and makes some amazing desserts!
I was able to try the champagne cake which was absolutely one of the best cakes I have ever had!
Macarons, chocolate ganache, black forest cake, simply everything was pure perfection!
Prices and cake slices are fair, quality is great, the tarts were great as well, everything is made from scratch with love and you can really taste that in every bite!
I hope they open a real storefront soon, so everyone can enjoy their delicious desserts anytime!

By far the best French pastry in San Diego. Just delicious fresh ingredients and a great attention to the French tradition.

BonPastry creates sweet masterpieces. We found them at the Farmers Market in Solana Beach and will definitely keep BonPastry in mind for the future.

I really need to visit the store. I’ve now come across Bonpastry at 3 Unilocal events: the flower fields event where I fell in LOVE with the champagne cake (seriously one of the BEST cakes I have had in SD); the Unilocal FIT Event where they had the champagne cake again and some chocolate bite (the champagne cake. moans), and this most recent time at the Unilocal North County Dia de los Muertos event in Escondido. The chef had these AMAZING french pastries. a cookie that was dark. not that sweet. I can’t tell what flavor it was but it had a spread of nutella on top… DELICIOUS.
I will definitely be by the bakery just for feeding my face. but I can imagine using them for any special occasion parties. Baby shower? Bridal shower? Seriously the desserts are to die for and I can’t wait to try what else they have.
Definitely recommend. I am writing this temporary review just based off the three brief moments to sample their goods. and I intend to review when I buy from the bakery itself. YUM!

This review is not on the desserts themselves, but notice that the location of the business has moved. My husband and I drove there and were really disappointed to find the location had changed. I wanted everyone to be aware moving forward.

I got to try Bonpastry when they came out to Unilocal Elite’s FIT Club event. I’m always skeptical about pastry samples because sometimes they are a hit or miss. But Bonpastry kept me coming back for more and more! I hope the workers weren’t too annoyed that I kept going back for more.
We got to try the:
–Champagne Cake
–Belgian chocolate ganache (something along that lines)
The staff was nice, and though they didn’t speak much but I can tell they knew that their cakes were amazing! (Proud smiles, anyone?)
AMAZING. I LOVE the champagne cake! You don’t really notice the champagne but you immediately realize how soft, and spongey the cake is. The sweetest is perfect, and the almond shavings make the perfect top.
The ganache was a bit rich, but it would have probably tasted better if I took smaller bites. Decadent and yummy! Definitely yummy at any party, or just for an afternoon tea dessert. I bet it will be delicious with coffee!
I can’t wait to check out their actual storefront and try their other cakes. I’m already considering getting a cake here in the future for someone’s birthday!

I highly recommend using this place for any dessert needs! I met the co-​owner who is passionate about his desserts and quite knowledgeable. Most of their ingredients are organic and lower in sugar in order to have the optimal flavor. Even someone with a huge sweet tooth, like me, enjoyed the desserts with lower sugar content. Their chocolate ganache macaroon is the best macaroon I have ever tasted and the other desserts were amazing as well.

This is the real deal. Not just pretty but also taste out of this world. We pick up her cookies, cakes and Napoleon at Solana Beach FM and they are incredible. Anyone disappointed with the pretty but boring Extraordinary Desserts or their copycats will love this purveyor in delightful sin. Not overly sweet just criminally delicious.

These are hands down the best pastries I have tasted in years. I live in Los Angeles and drive all the way down to Carlsbad to get my pastry from here. We discovered Bonpastry at the Solana Beach Farmer’s Market and we haven’t been able to go anywhere else since. I highly recommend their pastries to anybody looking for authentic French and middle eastern pastries. Can’t wait to get my hands on them again!

Saw Bonpastry at the Unilocal Farm Flowers Festival on 4÷19÷15 and sampled the vanilla champagne cake and was surprised how good it was. A lot of times cake looks good but when you taste it, it is bland or tastes like cardboard. I went back for a second sample and took their card. Will definitely try them out the next time I need a dessert.

This place is amazing! I ordered the apple clafoutis cake for someone I work with and it was delivered to our office in a box with a gold bow within 2.5 hours, still warm! Everyone absolutely loved it. Thank you to Angelo for delivering this lovely confection on time and even better than expected!

The BEST French desserts! We thankfully discovered Bonpastry at the Carlsbad Farmer’s Market over a year ago. They let us sample a few of the desserts and we’ve been hooked ever since! You can’t go wrong with anything they bake! Everything is decadent!
I ordered a vanilla champagne cake for my mom’s birthday this week and she was overjoyed! It was delicious! I called Tuesday afternoon and they had it ready and delivered to me by 11:00 am Thursday. Angelo kept me informed on timing of delivery and was prompt. It was wrapped beautifully with a red bow. Wonderful family owned business.
We will definitely continue business for years to come!

The Ganache is to die for and the service is excellent! I called in very very last minute for a work birthday party and they delivered the Ganache to the restaurant we were eating at 45 minutes later! Angelo and his wife are both very sweet. The Ganache is rich and decadent, and came wrapped beautifully with raspberries on top! Thank you so much for your wonderful service and I wish you continued success!

We needed a decadent desert cake for our monthly foodie dinner party, on fairly short notice. After doing some searching and research on the interwebs, we came across Bön Pastry. I called and left them a voice mail, letting them know that we were interested in some macaroons and one of either their Ganache flour-​less cakes or a Tiramisu (they have a nice website with photos of their baked gods). They called me back quickly and based on the pairings for the rest of our dinner extravaganza, they recommended we go with the Ganache, and perhaps some mocha/​kahlua macaroons. I met them at the Solana Beach farmers’ market (which happens to be our local farmer’s market and is absolutely awesome, btw [every Sunday 1−5pm on Cedros Ave]). They let me try a bite from a slice of their Ganache… dude, UNREAL! No joke, these cats don’t mess around. One of the better chocolate cakes I’ve tried in years, and I’m what you might call a connoisseur of chocolate deserts. They had packaged the cake and macaroons in nice containers, with ribbons! Totally rad. I also tried a few of their other deserts, absolutely everything is unreal. I won’t be buying deserts from a single other bakery as long as I’m in San Diego, they’re the best I’ve found, hands down.
I would continue to patronize them, even if they we’re impolite, or difficult to deal with, but this could not be further from the truth. They were extremely helpful, kind, and fun to speak with. Christiane has clearly been baking for a very long time, and is not only tremendously talented, but seems to have found her passion and enjoys talking about the process. The fellow (whose name I cannot recall) there helping her was the one who spoke to me over the phone re the suggested pairings and was both knowledgeable and very friendly.
What a joy, I cannot wait to surprise my friends with these beautiful, delicious deserts tonight. Bravo, Bön Pastry, you guys are a gem. We will most certainly be back.

I’m not a huge baked goods fanatic in general, but after trying Bön Pastry the other day, I think I found my new addiction! This bakery isn’t like your everyday bakery; Bön Pastry is more unique and elegant. I’d recommend getting the sable cookies and the ganache cake! Those are the only things I’ve tried so far and they seriously tasted like Heaven in my mouth. The cookies are a perfect consistency (not too crunchy, not too soft), buttery and they have powdered sugar on top. They’re so addicting! I think I tried every flavor, but the raspberry ones are my favorite. Also, if you really like chocolate like moi, I’m positive you’ll like the ganache cake. It’s super rich and tastes more like a brownie than a cake to me (which is exactly what I prefer). Oh and as you can see in the pics, the sable cookies and the ganache cakes are all heart-​shaped, which I personally think would be perfect to give your loved one for Valentine’s Day!
I’m so happy I found Bön Patsry! Their desserts are the perfect little treats to bring to a luncheon, dinner or even to surprise a loved one with for a birthday or special occasion!
*NOTE: You have to pre-​order via their website and either choose to pick up your order or you can have your order shipped to you! Another option (which is how I heard of Bön Pastry) is by going to the Solana Beach Farmer’s Market (that occurs every Sunday). They have a booth set up and you can see all the delicious desserts they have!

Rich, decadent, luxurious.. .
After a taste of Chrisitane’s Ganache at the Solana Beach Farmer’s Market, I ordered one for my daughter’s birthday. Not a big fan of the on-​line shopping cart process, I first tried calling, but got voicemail and the message that the box was full.
After I received an acknowledgement and confirmation that it would be ready for pick up at the market, I almost stopped worrying.. .maybe a SFP, but when I arrived, learned she hadn’t received the message and didn’t have a 10″ for me. Thankfully she did have two 7″ for me :)
A flourless concoction of Belgium chocolate, eggs, French Cognac, heavy cream and sugar. Handmade with the freshest of ingredients, all agreed the ganache was heavenly.
However, I am afraid I have to take back a star.. .

A secret find — I needed tiramisu for a birthday party and ordered this the day before, it was excellent! The owner met all my needs — did it quickly and everyone loved the dessert. It’s great to find a place that does custom work and uses such high quality ingredients…
