Our mission is to inspire and enable all kids ages 6 – 18, but especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as responsible and productive citizens. We keep our Club membership fees affordable at just $ 50 a year and help to families in need.

We specialize in youth development with a focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development for all kids ages 6 – 18.

History

Established in 1963.

The Boys & Girls Club of Vista celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2013. The Boys & Girls Club of Vista’s vision is to reach out and maximize potential of our children, to inspire them through motivated staff, exciting programs, supported by an involved community.

Dues are intentionally kept very low at $ 50 a year so that any boy or girl can be part of the Club. The Club offers daily academic enrichment, fitness, leadership and art programs as well as sports programs at five sites in Vista and Oceanside.

Since 2010, the Club’s membership has increased 50% to over 1400 Club members. In 2012, the Boys & Girls Club of Vista was awarded a Gateway to Impact Award from Boys & Girls Clubs of America in recognition of exceptional increases in average daily attendance. The Club was recognized as one of the top 4 Clubs out of 950+ Boys & Girls Clubs in the Pacific Region.

Matt K.

Business Owner

Matt Koumaras received his Masters in Education from National University and B.A. from University of California Santa Cruz in English Literature. He joined the Boys & Girls Club of Vista in 2007 previously serving as the Executive Director with the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Vista and a 2013 Association of California School Administrators Region 18 Administrator of the Year award recipient.
