Neck Pain, Back Pain & Headache Relief Clinic

I first met Dr. Jason Gestring at one of his wellness seminars, which was organized and held by my employer. At the time I was experiencing a wide variety of painful symptoms– low back pain, a dagger like pain in my left shoulder blade, numbness and shooting pain down my left arm along with pain from TMJ, I also had chronic migraine headaches as well as a stiff neck and shoulder pain. My consultation with Dr. Gestring showed that I had, not only issues in my neck and low back, but also in the center of my back which, he stated was probably related to some of my other health issue, that I was unaware of could be caused by these «subluxations» in my mid-​back, such as my difficulty swallowing and my chronic constipation issues to name a few. I immediately signed up for a treatment package with Dr. Gestring and his VERY friendly and experienced staff. I have been receiving adjustments 2x weekly since late September, and I am feeling REMARKABLY better! I have suffered with migraine headaches for 40 years and I can now say that my migraines are GONE!!! Also gone is numbness and shooting pain in my left arm. In fact, all of my pain is gone. For years I have suffered with chronic pain and headaches, and now I feel absolutely spectacular… I am sleeping better, I have more energy, and I feel that my overall health has improved greatly. I am giving Dr. Gestring and his staff 5 Stars, but they are deserving of 10 stars! When I 1^st went to see Gestring I liked the way he adjusted. He did try to get me to come more days a week then I wanted to, and I slowly backed off to a comfortable schedule that I preferred. I had been going to a long time Chiropractor for years but wanted something closer, only if the price was right. I did not want to buy a pricey package. Gestring broke down a package with pricing that was hard to pass up. He said insurance might cover some of this. He then mentioned to me weeks later that insurance was not covering any of my visits but that he would still honor my package deal. Then a couple weeks later he cut me off and said that I would have to start paying if I wanted to come again — even though I had 15 more visits in my package! I lost $ 500 in adjustments. I have found a new Chiropractor!

I have to admit that despite being in the medical field, I’m the kind of person that does not see themselves going to a chiropractor or even to a doctor for most problems. When I met Dr. Gestring about a year ago I had months of severe chronic neck, back and wrist pain from my work which I had been trying to ignore. I could not ignore that several of my coworkers had gone out on disability and I didn’t want to be next. Finally I scheduled an appointment for a consult in which he assessed my spine and mobility and took x-​rays. I brought my husband with me who works at a desk all day and has neck and shoulder pain. We both decided to try 6 months of therapy. The first few weeks my back was sore as muscles that has been contracted for months began to loosen up. Then I saw a big improvement. My wrist pain vanished. My neck and back pain eventually became just a memory. I saw improvement in my ability and speed at performing surgery at work. My husband complained a lot less about his neck and seemed to sleep better, which is good for both of us. After my 6 months therapy was up I decided I could not go back to the way things were prior to treatment. My husband and I have continued seeing Dr. G every 2 weeks or sometimes more often if needed. He has also been very helpful keeping me comfortable and healthy through my pregnancy. Dr G is professional, personable, and really cares about his patients. His office is busy (for good reason) but his staff are wonderful and he is always upbeat and attentive. At my most recent visit this week, I was not having a great morning but after my appointment I felt much brighter. I realized that Dr. Gestring’s role in my physical and mental health was instrumental. Thank you Dr. G and Neck and Back Pain staff for everything you do!

I came in with horrible migraines. That made me feel nauseated, moody and impaired my vision. I was missing work and time with my friends and family. After my first adjustments I started to feel an improvement.
After 3 months I have a 7.6 mm improvement in the curve of my lower back. I also went from 55% movement in my neck to 100% movement… best of all no more migraines!
Dr. Jason and office staff are fabulous. They are flexible with my busy schedule and make me feel comfortable.

There is so much I could say about Dr. Gestring and his staff but I suppose first and foremost I should start with THANK YOU! When my wife and I first started going to see Dr. Gestring I was experiencing some neck, shoulder and back pain which would radiate down my legs. I went for a few visits before the doctor recommended a full treatment therapy plan which would be 3 days a week for 3 months. I did not take his advice initially and one month later when the pain had gotten so bad that I couldn’t move my head I found through my xrays that I had gone from 2 subluxations in my neck to 5! My neck had no backward curve whatsoever but was a straight line up and down. I immediately entered into the treatment program as I figured it was worth a try. I was right. After nearly four months from being near permanent damage I am down to 0 subluxations and I have the curve back in my neck. I haven’t slept so well in a very long time and day to day life is much more comfortable. I owe it all to Dr. Jason Gestring and his wonderful staff! They honestly helped me and I am grateful.

I have been going to Dr. Gestring’s for about 6 months now and the service has been incredible. The whole staff is extremely friendly and right when you walk in the make you feel at home and make the experience a lot more personal. After six months my back has been feeling awesome and it is night and day on how much mobility and flexibility I have in my lower back now. Being heavily involved in Olympic weight lifting the treatment has helped out tremendously. My back now feels a lot stronger and over all much healthier. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gestrings to anyone in the north county area looking for an awesome chiropractor.

The first day I went to him was ok he took x-​rays and talked to me about what I wanted, how I wanted to feel and what my long time goals were. I came back the next day, we went over the results of the x-​rays and he explained everything to me, then here it comes all the extra money it was going to cost me, mind you I have insurance. He wanted a extra 21 hundred dollars. Needless to say i’m not going back to see him again. It total felt like he was trying to sell me a car, way to much pressure.

I was referred to Dr. Gestring by a friend after complaining of constant back pain. I went to Dr. Gestring and was feeling better after only a few treatments!!! Also, the staff is fantastic & the place is extremely clean!!! I also, love the soft music for relaxation! Good Job Dr. Gestring & staff.

Dr. Gestring and his office staff are great. They run a very busy yet super friendly office, have flexible hours and provide great care. Its easy to get in for appointments, even when they have lots of patients and still they ensure I get the attention for my appointment that I need. I have seen a lot of chiropractors over the years and highly recommend them. Dr. Gestring’s adjustment style is hands on and he tailors it to address whatever is hurting that day. He really gets you crackin’. Physical therapy and home care are included for a full care plan. I have seen him for many months and feel a lot better and also feel happy with the whole experience compared to others I have been treated by. This was a good choice for improving my health.

It takes a lot for me to write a review on Unilocal,but I was so disappointed by the way I was treated at this office. I have seen a few chiropractors now for the past 15+ years and they have all been effective in treating my need at the time, providing therapies to accelerate healing, and maintenance. For the past two years, I have not gotten chiropractic care but decided to find a chiropractor close to my home because I was beginning to stiffen up when I lift too much, which tends to get me in trouble. Dr. Gestring was friendly and respectful. He did x-​rays and an adjustment on my first visit. Then asked me to come back for a review and a treatment plan. That’s when everything changed.
We sat down and discussed my x-​rays in detail and he began to ask me how much my life would change if I had no more back pain, and if by the end of my treatment, I would never have to seek care again other than a monthly adjustment. He explained that my insurance company paid a very small percentage of the fees. He listed some therapies he would use in addition to the adjustments — all things I had done with other chiropractors but were included with the cost of an adjustment. I began to feel like I was buying a used car! I knew that this was setting up for a big commitment. The bottom line totaled more than $ 3,000!
The reason I went to him was because they are supposed to accept my insurance. I understand that insurance companies may not reimburse at a reasonable rate but is that the patient’s fault? I am in healthcare and understand the way it works. I am seeing a physical therapist who cautions against chiropractors anyway, but I have had results and wanted to couple chiropractic care with my PT. But when I mentioned that I have no way of affording a $ 3000 commitment and my intent was to use my insurance (no matter what the limitations), he immediately turned me off. I was escorted to the waiting room and told to fill out more insurance forms and that I would then receive an adjustment. I filled out the forms and was told «OK, you’re done, we will call you within 48 hours». After spending an hour there, I left without even an adjustment that day! I was shocked. And I was never called back.
I have since spoken with several chiropractors (one who has a busy 40+ year practice in La Jolla), PTs and physicians and I was warned to NEVER sign a contract or provide money up front to an allied health professional. I am disappointed that, after being in healthcare for 25 years, it has apparently become more about cost and less about healing.

I’ve been going here for over 3 years. I use to take over 10 motrins a day due to neck pain. I now only take a few a month. The adjustments have helped big time as I work on cars and looking up a lot can really take a beating on me. Jason is very educational. He will take x-​rays to see where he needs to target your problem. He’s not one of these guys who just crack you and send you on your way. Everyone needs to be treated differently. If I had photos of my back, before and after, I would post them. Seeing is believing. I would of never thought my back would effect my digestive system. I had digest problems quite a while before visiting him and now I am able to manage it a lot better with his adjustments and diet. I am far from perfect but I have come a long way since maintaining my back. I think everyone should become more educational on how to maintain themselves. My wife is a patient as well. Come check him out, you wont be disappointed.
