Meet the Business Owner
Deena W.
Business Owner
Chef Deena’s culinary life began in high school, with a trip to Singapore. Back home, she longed to eat the curry chicken of the food venders. Other foodie adventures led her to China, Europe, and Spain. She lived in Encinitas, California, worked in a Vietnamese restaurant and a local surfer hang-out and Cuban café, called Papa Gus.
Deena went to Humboldt State, where she enjoyed picking edible mushrooms, farmers markets, and experimenting on her roommates’ taste buds.
Deena married and moved to Del mar, California, where she started her family and chef career, preparing meals for busy families. She completed her Culinary Arts degree at The San Diego Culinary Institute and interned with Waters catering.
For over 15 years, she has built her patrons, through word of mouth and «just doing it», the On Fire Food way.
