Poise Hair Salon and Spa

Let me start by saying that the hairdresser who highlighted my hair did a phenomenal job. Great low lights. Best I have ever had. But, that same hairdresser could not cut hair as competently. I left with a messy sudo bob. What in reality, turns out, the left side of my hair cut was longer than the right side of my haircut. Which has not happened since my dad cut it when I was eight. So there’s that. Just be mindful that the hairdresser that is blonde with tattoos rocks color, but should not cut your hair.

My first time at Poise and it won’t be my last. Allan cut and colored my hair. I discovered that he is not only naturally, crazy talented but is involved in teaching other stylists on how to perfect their art. In addition to receiving a tremendously fresh look, I appreciated the kind staff at Poise and noticed how different it felt than other stuffy, gossipy type of places. Kudos to Poise and Allan. Worth every dollar.

I frequent downtown Vista and happened to be walking by. Stefanie, the owner, was able to take me in that day as a walk-​in. I don’t get my haircut regularly so this was a really big deal for me. I told her to make some suggestions on what styles would look good on me. I ended up cutting off a few inches and she gave me layers. It turned out perfect and I’ve since then returned to get my hair cut again. It is a full service salon where you can get a manicure or pedicure, eyelash extensions and more. The ladies that work there are very nice and it is a spacious and beautiful salon located next to the bars, movie theaters and more. Their prices are competitive and they usually have specials for new clients. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED — SEE STEFANIE

One of the best experiences I have ever had at a hair salon! Candice, took her time doing my hair. She was very gentle, no tugging, no pulling, she knew what she was doing. Not only that I had so much fun! Such a great personality. The salon is very very cute and cozy she told me all about how it’s not owned by corporate and that a very nice lady runs the place. I cannot remember her name but Candice seemed so happy to work there. She loves what she does and that’s important to me. They’re usually closed on a Sunday but it was the only day I have off and she her time from her day off to do this for me! & I appreciate it so much! I went from dark hair to gorgeous caramel bayalage. It’s just perfect! Not only that she did everything in her power not to damage it too much. She recommended shampoo and products I can use to keep my hair healthy! It was a long drive but one that was worth it! I will definitely be back for more! Thank you so much Candice! You’re amazing at what you do!

I just moved to the So Cal area and after all the traveling and moving I needed to pamper myself… I found a local salon in the area I relocated to and met a wonderful stylist Shena! I did a horrible dye job trying to save money so was worried about what she would say! She actually seemed to care about how I felt and looked! I felt like a queen living the salon! she fixed my roots, broke up my nasty color with highlights and gave me an awesome haircut!!! I will be back and recommend the salon and mostly Shena to everyone new I meet! Thanks for all the hard work!

Poise is a *beautiful* salon located in the most adorable part of Vista, Main Street. I usually get really tired when I go to a salon; but Poise has these huge windows that let in the natural light and I felt amazing! The owner was really friendly and offered me a glass of wine (I treated myself by accepting! :) I got my hair done by Candice and I could not be happier! The highlights are subtle, and the layers are drastic: exactly what I asked for! The product they use is from a local company too– I think its called ‘euforia’ –and it was wonderful. I love a good salon vibe, and this was *it* !!! Thank you, Candice c/​o Poise! I feel like perfection! Until next time! Cheers!

Colleen transformed my brassy blonde hair into the exact ash shade that I was looking for! She is a true Master at color and board certified for color. Colleen will definitely be my future go to for all my hair «needs» ;)

For the past couple of years my mom’s hairdresser has been doing my hair. The last time I wasn’t thrilled with the color so I decided to try someone/​someplace new. Enter Poise Salon in Vista! My appt. was with a lovely young gal named Stephanie. She was friendly, professional, personable, and she did an outstanding job on my cut & color! We also had some wonderful conversation while she performed her magic. I gave her a brief rundown on my hair and a few parameters about my lifestyle, then I let her have at it. I couldn’t be happier… I LOVE my cut & color!!! I’ll definitely go back to see Stephanie at Poise!!!

I saw Ashli (Ashley) for highlights, paid extra for a base color that turned my hair darker by two shades all over my head. Came back twice for highlights (first set of highlights barely made a difference). I asked to speak with the owner to explain my situation but the receptionist would not let me speak to the owner and instead scheduled another appointment. My highlights did finally brighten my hair (lighter than I originally walked in with), but I had one inch roots when I left, and was asked to pay (no one mentioned this before). I asked again to speak to the owner and then told they would refund (cancel) the charge.
Bottom line — poor communication and attention to customers from the salons and while I LOVED Ashli, I’m just not pleased with my hair. It’s fried and the cut is very blunt.

I’ve been seeing Christina for over 5 years, she is amazing! I can send her multiple «ideas» of what I want and she will know exactly what I want done EVERY time. My hair is also naturally curly and anytime I have wanted to change the cut, she is mindful of telling me if it will be easy or hard to style (she knows how lazy I can be when it comes to doing my hair). I have fried my hair before by trying to bleach it myself & she has fixed it and helped get my hair get back to the healthy status that it is now. I will NOT go to anyone else– ever. I couldn’t give her my highest recommendation.

I have recently decided to bleach my hair by myself I thought it would be easy. My hair turn out orange and yellow. I panicked !!! I looked like a walking highlighter!!. Anyways I decided to not bleach or do anything to my hair. I decided to go to the salon Poise. The staff is really friendly & welcoming and also very helpful. They answered all my questions and gave me a realistic ideas. Brittney did an amazing job on my hair!. She was very helpful. She taught me how to take care of my hair. She also explained what she doing to my hair. Which I appreciated. She cut and styled my hair aswell. I left the salon very happy. I will definitely be coming back & I also recommend this place, you won’t regret it coming here!!!

This review is for my girl Britney! I drive up from Mira Mesa just for her! She does an amazing job and I will obviously follow her wherever she goes! She knows what she’s doing, is very friendly and makes you feel relaxed and welcome. I’ll keep coming back as long as she is here! I walk out loving my hair more and more!
The place is nice and everyone else is friendly as well.

This really should have been two separate reviews, one with 5 stars, and one with one star, so I’ll settle for 2. It just apparently totally depends on who you get.
My own experience was wonderful, I got a hair cut and highlights done by Lauren, and was totally happy. The cut was great, and the color job beautiful. I would have been a customer for life. Unfortunately, Lauren is no longer there, which I found out when I came back the second time.
I brought my daughter in because she wanted to color the ends of her hair pink. I don’t remember the name of the person who did it, but it was a disaster. First of all, it took 3 (!) hours. Then my daughter tells me, they «forgot» her for a while during the bleaching process, and her hair was fried. Then the pink didn’t take, and had to be redone. Okay, okay. I’m a patient person. We finally walk out of there with pink hair ends, my daughter is very happy, all is good. NOT. The pink was supposed to last a couple of months. Instead, it is now completely gone after a total of 19 days and only two times washing the hair. And for that I paid a hundred bucks?! Very, very disappointing. I don’t think I’ll set foot into the place again.

Just went here to get my hair done, since I usually go to Del Mar. Much closer to my house. Ashley was awesome, entertaining, and did an excellent job. The products they use are natural too! As expensive as a beach town, like Carlsbad or Encinitas was the only down side. They are bringing the good hair to the younger/​mid age since there is nothing like that in down town vista.

Brittney has been doing my hair for 6 years and I would follow her anywhere. She knows my hair better than I do. She is such a delight and the conversation is always great. Now she is at Salon Poise and the experience is even better! I absolutely love Salon Poise. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The people are so nice. All around a great salon with so many services. Definitely stop in and get beautified!

Amazing gifted stylist every single person there is gifted!!! I’ve been to Stephanie, the. Owner for 8 yrs and she couldn’t be nicer, did I mention gifted??? She has done my hair so many different ways! Her precision cut and color is always done expertly! The products they carry EPICUREN SKIN CARE and DAVINES HAIRCARE, GLO MINERALS !!! She strives on bringing the best locally natural products she can find! Thank you Stephanie and all the wonderful women at POISE

I’ve been to Poise several times now, all of which have been to see Brittney. I’ve gotten highlights and hair cuts by her. She convinced me to cut off my long hair in exchange for a super short bob, which was extremely nerve racking at first. Now, I cannot even begin to describe how many compliments I get on my hair. She’s precise and attentive to detail, but at the same time, a total cool and laid back chick to spend an hour out of your day with. I love this Salon, and am sooo thankful to have found a stylist that knows her sh*t. Thank you Brittney & Poise!

I love this place and especially love my stylist Brittney. I originally started going to salon poise about 2 years ago and was seeing a different stylist who has since left. I’ve been seeing Brittney the last two times I’ve went and she has done an amazing job on my cut and color! If your are looking for a stylist is would recommend Brittney!
