Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant

I’m a big fan of this place. Service has always been great. I visit often. It doesn’t happen often but once in a while something may not come out as expected. Their on it and will not only make it right but the manager will follow up for additional feedback. That’s great service. The beer selection I think is always spot on because no matter what taste your in the mood for the’ll have a beer thats right for the moment. My only suggestion is they add more sour beers to their tap but from what I understand from the bartenders is that sour isn’t a big seller in this area so I’m a little bias when it comes to sours.

First time visiting today and was glad I finally did. I had the fish and chips and it was a great size and the fish tasted great. Love the outdoor seating which is why we chose to eat here in the first place. My boyfriend had ordered a cup of the chicken gumbo and I really enjoyed that as well. I would be very interested in returning for a happy hour or late night bite to eat.

We stopped in for lunch today and the menu had lots of nice sounding options and the beer list, while I couldn’t enjoy (work) was nice. We had the special salmon which for the life of me couldn’t find any of the pesto encrusting. It had a nice lemon and roasted red pepper topping and was cooked perfectly. The side of rice wasn’t anything worth coming for and it also has a shredded lettuce and slices of tomato, it was a special but maybe try something else. All the other food was very good, the Hawaiian burger was real nice with a hearty slice of pineapple and the hummus appetizer was huge! Plenty of pita chips for dipping and the ingredients were really fresh as well!
I would love to give it a try when I can enjoy the beer menu next time!

I stopped here for afternoon mimosas with a friend and they tasted pretty good. They also came with a sample of a different type of mimosa that used beer; I didn’t really like that one that much. We were attended to very quickly; the server and the hostess were very kind. The outdoor and indoor seating appeared to be clean and well organized. Things are relatively pricey here, but I think it’s well worth it. I’ll definitely be back!

Frequent visitor, love the beer selection and am partial to the Hef. The food is good for a brewery and has a nice selection, definitely a great place to have a few drinks with friends.

Our server, zack, was fantastic. He knew his beers. The food was great and the atmosphere is great. Will definitely be coming back !

Excellent restaurant! Great location, great server, very helpful, excellent suggestions for beer and food. Most delicious seafood bisque! Definite repeat. Excellent ahi salad, very surprised at the smokey delicious taste of ahi chunks and well-​blended dressing. Daughter said she will go there just for that. Delicious crème brûlée. Beers, fav was the rose beer. Wow! Smoothe with a very light hint of floral. Nothing like what you’d think if the same. Be sure to include it as one to taste.

Absolutely phenomenal food! The bread was fresh and when you add the butter. Slow down cause it is so good. We went with my in-​laws for dinner. The mini crab cakes were bigger than I expected and were great. I tried my mother-​n-​law food and it was great too. Hubby had the gumbo. My entrée was not too good so they replaced my food. I was happy about that. The customer service was excellent. I can see why it was so packed. I tried to eat my dessert but I could not eat it, I was just too full. The area over there is really nice and you can eat outside if you want. I would recommend this restaurant.

Iron Hill is one of those local suburban chain spots I’ve always heard about but never took the time to explore. One time eons ago, I did stop in for food, but otherwise the brewery has remained a mystery to me.
I stopped in here with two friends on Super Bowl Sunday for lunch. We sat in the bar section and it wasn’t very busy. There was a splattering of patrons, but I guess we were too early to see a crowd.
Two of us started with flights and shared them:
–Russian Imperial Stout: Overpoweringly boozy with a hop kick. Gave to friend after two sips.
–The Highlander: A nice, classic scotch ale.
–Light lager: So not my thing!
–Other lager on (red?): Did not try. Friend drank quickly.
–Oompa Loompa Chocolate Stout: Cute name, weird flavor. Friend enjoyed it.
–Pig Iron Porter: Smooth and accessible. Roasty finish. My preference of the day (4 stars).
–Das Boot: I was on the fence since it’s a pilsner. Was okay. Nothing special.
–Witberry: Friend ordered but he gave it to me after a sip. I liked it. Typical fruity and wheaty.
On the grub front, my friends each ordered burgers (a bacon cheese and a Santa Fe) and both seemed to enjoy them. One of them cleared his plate (Santa Fe) before I had finished half of my margherita pizza! My pizza was good — I also eventually finished it off — but got cold pretty quickly. The sauce was on the sweeter side and I wish there had been more cheesy spots. Other than that, it was an acceptable pie, though I don’t think I’d try it again.
And that’s basically how I also feel about Iron Hill as a whole, too. All of the beers were okay, but nothing struck my palate to the point of requiring a return. I’ll keep an eye on their tap list and if something piques my interest, I’ll consider a stop. Otherwise, there are too many other breweries still on my to-​try list!

First of all, they have an excellent selection of beers as well as other alcoholic beverages. Regarding the food, I think the prices are fair however I thought the portions were kind of on the smaller side. As far as quality goes it was excellent. I like to try the French onion soup when I to go to a restaurant and I can say that their’s is the best I’ve had in quite a while. Also, the service here was absolutely excellent.

It’s certainly trendy. The beers are pretty good, and the waitstaff has been very friendly. It’s also always clean and beautifully decorated around Christmas. It’s a bit overpriced for what it is. The food is pretty average. I’d describe it as a classier, more expensive Applebees.

Never again. Why does every place have to be trendy and upscale’ish. Took 10 mins to find parking. All lots full or gated. we walk in. 15min wait. Yet i see 12 tables/​booths unused. Finally sit down. Everything has over abundance of unnecessary ingredients. For a bar, they have 4 burgers. None sounded appetizing. Not even a basic bacon cheese burger. I finally settled on beef stroganoff. I was asked how i wanted it cooked. What? Never in my life i was asked that for this meal. So i said medium. It finally came. Small steak on left. Noodles and mushrooms on right. I was looking for the rest of the meal. Furthermore i had to cut my own steak? Should be cubed and mixed with the sauce. I finished in less than 5 mins. Still hungry. When did voorhees become so snobby?

I like this place. The server was great. The food was good. The whipped feta was great. The pretzels were good and warm. The fish and chips were crispy and hot. The Garcia pizza was eehhhh. It needed something like salt or parm cheese. Idk but it lacked some flavor. I tried a beermosa which was odd but not bad. The menu is extensive and had many vegetarian options.
Recently went back for the bedotter brew. And both times was told its out. So that’s disappointing. Maybe they should brew more since it’s really popular. The food is pretty good. The salmon egg rolls and the sweet potato fries are tasty. The stuffed mushrooms and the Brussels sprouts, both good. The seafood pot pie… Ehh. Not so much. Very bland. wasn’t hot when served. I barely touched it. And for $ 24 I was kinda pissed. The giant brownie sundae thing. OMG. That’s awesome.
Maybe next time we go back they’ll have some bedotter for us to try.

Wow!.. Great beer samplers and very good food.I.had the jagerschnitizl which was fried pork chops. fresh green beans and buttered perfected egg noodles. Sause on side because you can order it that way and I don’t like mushrooms. and oh so good. Out favorite beers were the pig iron Porter .the pine barrens IPA and ore house
Really nice atmosphere. Not loud. Good music. And very cool bar. Friendly place overall.

I’ve never really been out at the bars in the suburbs of South Jersey, so this was a sort of strange experience for me, going out to a bar in the area where I grew up. It’s just a little strange to go out drinking in the context of the area you spent your formative years. So Iron Hill is the only bar I’ve ever been to in South Jersey, and to be honest, I really liked it. Anyways, sorry for the life story.
Came in recently to watch the Eagles game and enjoy some bar food and beer. It was a good time, minus the Eagles being a dumpster fire this past season. But I digress. The place is split into two areas, a bar section with TVs, and a main dining room. Both are pretty spacious, so you can’t go wrong. The full menu is available for both sections, so don’t worry about a limited bar menu.
We went with a pitcher of the White Iron Wit (similar to Hoegaarden), which was only $ 14. Not sure how expensive that is in the realm of bars in the area, but given that we were used to New York prices, this was a welcome sight. We also went for the buffalo wings, which were huge, delicious and also a pretty good price, as well. In general, the menu is pretty extensive, so there’s a lot you can try here. Nothing too crazy, but all the dishes we saw being brought around looked good.
Service was okay, but sort of uncomfortable since our waiter was being a bit too casual with us. I actually thoroughly enjoy when chatting up small talk with the waitstaff, but it kinda resulted in our food and drinks coming out late, and our waiter almost forgetting about bringing it out. Nonetheless, it wasn’t enough to ruin the experience, and it ended up all right in the end.
Easily now my go-​to sports bar in the area. Will definitely be back, should the opportunity for sports-​watching present itself when I’m back visiting my folks.

Food was good, nothing special. Could’ve used extra seasoning to give some flavor. Service was great at the bar. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive to our table. Would come back again, but not in a rush.

I went in on recommendation from someone who frequents the chain but was severley disappointed. The beers were great, the server was great, the food was horrible. We even tried to order more to fill ourselves because we stopped eating the cheese platter and calamari but everything seemed frozen and flavorless. I would come back for the bourbon beer but that’s it.

A tasty assortment of appetizers followed by entrees that were incredibly generous portions. As it was a visit to the brewery, beers were also part and parcel to the experience (we went seasonal with Cindrella’s Carriage)…then finished the evening off with some crème brûlée.
The service was prompt & friendly — the atmosphere upbeat & inviting.

In town to visit friends and they brought me here. Cool place and the beer selection was fantastic.
I tried the beer sampler and it delivered! They just released their seasonal Winter Warmer so I had to try it. It was delicious! Ended up ordering a pint :)
They must be known for the burgers because 3 of the 4 of us ordered them. They looked amazing! Huge, juicy and fresh. I ordered the PEI mussels because it’s something I don’t normally see on a menu in Syracuse. They were amazing. The «small» order was huge! The broth was creamy and garlicky and perfect for soaking up with the little loaf of toasted bread that came with it.
We also had the cold Dan Dan noodles because they sounded so good. Yum! Spicy, sweet, crunchy perfect little side snack.
Would definitely come back next time I come to town!

This newest location of IH is nice, clean and big. But, it’s in that weird space at the Voorhees Town Center. if you don’t know where exactly it is, you may miss it. Luckily we’ve been to other businesses in that corner of the parking lot, so we knew. We went in for a quick beer and a snack. My wife got the pumpkin beer and ordered some guac and chips. The guac was ok, nothing special, but she liked the beer. Especially the Cinderella’s Carriage. She said it was a nice, full flavored, drinkable fall beer. The service was good. We sat at the bar and the bartender was cool. The other patrons in the place were chill and no one really bothered with anyone else. We’ve been to IH at different locations before and this location is closer to home, so if we ever want some of their beer/​pub food, we’ll be back.

I think this place deserves more than 3.5 stars as I’ve been here probably over 40 times within the past year. There’s a reason why it’s always packed. The beer is good and the food is just as good, if not better. If you take a look at the menu, you will see that this place is delivering more than just the standard bar treats. If you’re new to the area, give this place a try. Get a sampler flight and try some of their awesome bites.

Much better service this time. This time I went with my husband. Everything was good. I got a BlackBerry lemonade it was a little sweet but still very yummy. We also tried the salmon rolls and to my surprise they were good. The dessert was my favorite. I enjoyed the brass pudding and would definitely recommend it.

Inside is nice and new and clean and perfect. I liked it a lot.
Sat outside on the patio … always my first choice.
Service was very polite but not terribly accurate.
Tried several beers, enjoyed them all.
Bonus that it’s brewed on-​site.
Food was excellent.
We need more restaurants like this.

My family from out of town (Florida, South Carolina, and North Jersey) stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after planning our grandmother’s funeral. We were famished and needed a place to eat and catch up after the emotional roller coaster we’d been on the past few days. I’d been meaning to stop in for a bite to eat after hearing they opened in Voorhees Town Center, and I’m so glad I made the suggestion.
First of all, our waitress Lacey was phenomenal. There is not often that a server can handle all of the demands from my eclectic family! There’s also not too many times when I learn my server’s name and make a note of it in my phone so I’ll remember their name later for my review. She was so helpful with the food, cocktail, and beer menus. She came to ask us for refills many times and to just check in on the 10 of us. Lacey knew the menu well and offered suggestions on various items. Right before our food came out she came over with a huge sampling of all of their different types of beers for us to try on the house! Because she made this extra effort, a few of us switched our drinks to try a pint of one of the samples we liked (nice move Lacey!).
We all enjoyed our meals and the dishes ranged from burgers with sweet potato fries to tacos, salads, and appetizers. They have a huge menu with various tasty options and our party took full advantage of the variety. Iron Hill even had a section of «small plates» on their menu which I really enjoyed because I was having a hard time deciding what to order. I chose the fried goat cheese (something I’d heard of and have wanted to try) and the pulled pork taco both of which were very flavorful and the perfect size for my appetite. We ordered 2 nacho appetizers which was plenty of food to start us off. I would say that one nacho appetizer is good for 4 – 5 people.
The best part was that we didn’t feel rushed out of the restaurant. We hadn’t seen each other in quite some time and were coming together to honor and plan our grandmother’s funeral. It was nice that we didn’t feel that time was up after we finished eating. Although we were too full for dessert we stayed to have another drink and figure out our plans for the next few days. Lacey did not mind one bit and encouraged us to stay as long as we needed (even after the check was closed)!

I have been here multiple times — everything is always consistently good from the beer to the service to the food.
Definitely order any seasonal brew & the reserve beers are also very good. The honey siracha boneless bites are delicious, too.
This place holds a special place in my heart because on my most recent trip for my birthday dinner, my boyfriend asked me to marry him! The restaurant did a fabulous job helping him out with this amazing surprise!

I had heard mixed reviews of the place.
The egg rolls seemed to be a fan favorite. I personally think they were a little too crunchy/​hard. But the cheesesteak part was good.
My husband ordered the brewski burger. Medium. It came out medium rare. We normally don’t send things back but he gets sick when it’s too red. Luckily it was back out quickly.
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the salad. I loved the salad. Prefer it to be in a separate bowl or plate. Either the dressing or the pork sauce completely saturated the bottom bum. It fell apart my second bite and I had to use a fork. The top bun was too crispy and hard. The pulled pork itself was ok– kind of cold, a good consistency, but not enough flavor.
The service was good. No complaints in that area.

Fun place to go to catch up with friends! Pretty setting and have yet to be disappointed with food. A little pricey but the food always seems quality. Had the small goat cheese salad, tiny but ate up every single bit of it! Then shared cheesesteak egg rolls, served with a horseradish sauce that was mild and not too overpowering. Finished off with my favorite dessert! Warm Banana bread
Pudding! They took it off the menu for about 6 months but now it’s back!
Parking is tight. You can make reservations through Unilocal,the weekends get very busy so do it while you can! Valet available for 5 dollars but at catelli.

I was SOOO disppointed last evening with my experience at this Iron Hill location. Even though this location is closer to my home, I will be traveling to the Maple Shade location from now on.
The restaurant was not very busy to start. We sat on the dining side which was practically empty. My husband and I ordered basic food: he had the Sante Fe Burger and I had a salad. He orders this same burger all the time at the Maple Shade location; it’s one of his favorite burgers.
When the burger came out there were a few things wrong: the burger was overcooked (when asked for medium rare — juicy and pink), it was missing a tomato as a topping, and the fries sauce that we asked for was a completely wrong. We asked for the Paparika aoili and got a rosemary peppercorn dressing — not even the same color or taste.
The waiter appologized and got us a new hamburger. We were seated right next to the kitchen and could hear every conversation. We heard the Chef argue with the waiter — who in the argument the waiter was in the right — and the Chef said it was prepared properly — no it was not. It is a hamburger.
The chef did not believe the waiter and told the waiter to bring back the burger to prove it. So the waiter politely asked for half of the burger so he could show the chef that it was welldone. So we had another burger made.
This time the burger meat came out perfectly but screwed up on the toppings again. THis time it was missing bacon, which was on the first one, but gave us a slice of tomato this time. Ugh. We didn’t want to say anything again. We wanted to just eat and get out. The waiter appologized again and was very courteous through the entire experience.
Then a manager came over. I did not get his name, but he needs to improve on his management skills. He didn’t keep direct eye contact, and it felt like it was a formality that he had to come over and present himself to apologize. He took my husband’s dirty napkin and said, «let me bring you over more fresh napkins.» …He never returned. My husband used my dirty napkin for the rest of the evening.
I was so disappointed that not only could the chef not cook a hamburger, but nothing else was done properly by management. I am a manager at a local business, and this is NOT the way I would treat my customers.
We will not be returning to this location. Maple Shade is always spot on with service, food preparation, and management. We felt like we were a bother at the Voorhees location.
