Caritas of Waco is a non-​profit organization meant to provide urgent support to those in need in the Waco community. The Emergency Assistance program provides food, prescription drugs, clothing, household items and utilities to those who qualify. Caritas interviews all recipients of Emergency Assistance to determine their emergency needs. Caritas provides an opportunity for individuals who have an abundance to share with others who are unable to meet their minimal needs. Over 98 percent of every dollar given to Caritas comes from public support, and 86 percent of all Caritas contributions go directly into Emergency Assistance.
