This is a nice twist on a coffee shop because of the inclusion of a cute little bar, hence the name Dichotomy. Whenever I visit A coffee shop for the first time I always order a cappuccino. Dichotomy gets very high marks for beautiful coffee art and presentation. The flavor was above average and not bitter, but honestly not good enough to get five stars from me. It just wasn’t rich and flavorful enough. Maybe on another visit, but not this time. The environment is great though and they have an awesome balcony up top. Not perfect but I’m glad we stopped by.

Great, chic and funky coffee shop in the heart of Waco. True to their name — there are some interesting cocktails that combine coffee and liquor for some tasty combinations.

This is my favorite cup of coffee in Waco. It’s $ 3 but worth it. People here are friendly and service is very good. It’s just a good place to hang out, study, work or do whatever. The balcony is enjoyable too. Recommend.

Dichotomy is my favorite coffee shop in the world. Literally out of the 47 states and 13 countries I’ve visited, nothing compares. I love hemp milk lattes and the vanilla hemp milk latte is my fav. When I moved back to California for a while, I ordered 4, stored them in a thermos and they lasted all the way to the border of Colorado…(my obsession is real). I also love their iced coffee and they let you add hemp milk to it if you ask. Be sure to come in when you are not in a rush, as good coffee takes some time! This place makes Waco feel like home to me.

The vibe is a little too trendy for my down home taste but the coffee is great and the baristas are friendly… can’t ask for too much more. Haven’t had an adult beverage there yet but always see people chilling there so it must be good.

This might be the best spot for coffee in Waco. The trendy and mature décor can get any person with a laptop or book to stay here for hours. Sadly I was only in town for a few days, so I only got to pay one visit. If I discovered this place sooner, I would’ve come back for beverages more suitable in the evening. Having said that though my recommendation goes out to the cappuccino. It was nicely done with just the right amount of foam.

The place has excellent coffee. Mine was made with MadCap; I’m not sure if that’s what they use for everything or not. Prices are high($ 4.25 for a mocha, $ 3.00 for a standard cup of coffee), and the atmosphere is super hipster. Definitely not something I had expected in Texas… now I know… they exist here too!

I spend a lot of time at this coffee shop. It has fast become one of my favorite hangouts. The staff is really cool too. On the coffee side of things I usually get drip coffee or an espresso. When I’m having tea like the green tea but I have fast became a fan of the raspberry green tea. Free Wi-Fi and lots of activity.

My friend and I met up in Waco on a Sunday. Little did we realize nearly everywhere was closed. But thank god! Because that led us to this amazing spot! We sat down at the bar and were taken care of by Hannah, who obviously has a real passion for her job. She knew her drinks, and made them insanely well!(Having someone passionately describe the drinks or help you choose them sets you up for not just a great drink, but an experience) She knew when to check in with us to see if we needed anything and when we wanted space to just catch up. Couldn’t say enough awesome things about her. The place is so beautiful! In the front is the coffee bar then further in are all the«spirits». And what good spirits they were. Great wine, and mindblowing cocktails! I’m sure they could have made any traditional drink, but the drink menu offered exciting, creative and unique drinks. Wish we could have tried them all!

Best coffee shop in Waco? Best coffee shop in Waco. Dichotomy has become a mandatory stop if I’m passing through. First off, there’s the coffee: it’s quality stuff. My usual is a latte, and this is the most velvety smooth latte I’ve had in Waco. Always tastes fresh. Always delicious. It’s also just a great space. I love what they’ve done inside, with the metal ceilings, long counter and black and white hexagonal tile. It’s open and big but still warm and inviting. The staff is friendly, and yes – if you *are* passing through and need to use the bathroom, they’re usually clean. I’m a tad jealous that this is here now!

Every time we are in Waco, we stop here for coffee or drinks. The service is amazing, the drinks are amazing and you can’t but feel just a little cooler for just being here. The cocktails are all handmade as are the ingredients that go in them — AMAZING! The coffee and other hot drinks are made with care and served by a smiling face. We’ve been coming here for a little over two years and the have been served by the same bartender. I can’t say that of any of the chain restaurants I have visited. You can sit here and chat, study, read, or just hang out and let the atmosphere soak in. This will be your new favorite place.

This is my first time here, and I don’t regret it. It is a very chill spot with indoor and outdoor options including a covered rooftop area. Half of the venue downstairs houses a coffee/tea shop while the other half is a bar if you feel like indulging in libations. Either way, it’s a must try if you happen to be in the downtown Waco area and just need a lax spot!

Coffee, coffee, coffee. The shop is really great, very inviting with friendly service. My friend Chase and I had some iced coffee and sat on the second floor, where its smaller and less congested. Plus — martini Monday means $ 5 martinis all day. enough said.

This place is awesome. It dwells in downtown Waco, in the shadow of the famous Alico Building. There’s something to be said about a quality coffee shop/craft cocktail bar/study space in a college town, especially when it’s the first quality coffee shop/craft cocktail bar/study space in said college town. It looks really cool, plus they make a good product, and there is ample room to study and/or converse. I’ll probably write a more expansive update review in the future, but this is a great spot in Waco. Hooray Dichotomy!

I was surprised to find such a huge space for a coffee shop in this small town. Thanks to Unilocal,we found Dichotomy and we loved it! The space is gorgeous and the 2nd story patio is an added bonus. I ordered a latte and it was one of the best I’ve had(definitely better than Starbucks). I couldn’t stop staring at the bakery display so I ordered a blueberry muffin. Not too sweet and oh so moist! And it’s made from a local baker down the street! Oh, and did I mention they have a bar as well?!? Coffee on one side and mixed drinks and beer on the other side. How can you not love this place?

Ok, this isn’t a full and fair review, so I’d like to state that up front. We didn’t have any coffee, food or spirits while at Dichotomy — we were there for a meeting. That’s what this review covers.(Why didn’t we have coffee? We’d already had 3 cups before we arrived and for the sake of everyone around, we needed to not let it go beyond that.) So thinking about this as a meet up/hang out space: It’s excellent. Plenty of room inside, including quiet nooks and larger tables. We went upstairs and met on the rooftop patio. It’s a great space there, but tough to hear if many other groups arrive. Voices carry in the space. We’ll definitely go back and give it a proper try. It’s a unique venue and if I lived in Waco, I’d be seriously tempted to buy out the space for a private event.

What a cool place! When you are in here, you really forget that you are in Waco. It has that vibe of Austin or Seattle. The Baristas are both knowledgeable and talented! I love the décor and the music in this place. You could literally hang out here all day. Almost forgot about the coffee drinks. I had the mocha latte, it was very very good! I hear their straight coffee is good too. They have a drink here that I didn’t try, it’s the 1885. It’s a Dublin Dr Pepper with a shot of espresso! Boom! I highly recommend it!
