The Waco Convention Center is the premier meeting space for Central Texas. The facility has 14 rooms that can be subdivided into a total of 26 rooms for breakout sessions or smaller meetings. Chisholm Hall, the largest hall, totals 33,300 sq. ft. and seats up to 1,900 at rounds. Brazos Ballroom, our signature ballroom overlooking the Brazos River and the historic Suspension Bridge, can accommodate 750 at rounds. McLennan Hall is 15,000 sq. ft. and can accommodate 1,200 theater or 800 at rounds. Other smaller rooms are excellent for breakout sessions or smaller meetings and events.

The Waco Convention Center is located less than 1 mile from I-35 and is across the street from Waco’s downtown entertainment district. Two hotels are located nearby, and many other fine hotels are within a mile of the Convention Center.

History
Established in 1970.
The Waco Convention Center was opened in 1970 and underwent a major expansion in 1989, which added McLennan Hall, DeCordova Room, and Bosque Theater.
In 2009, the citizens of Waco passed a bond election dedicating $ 17.5 million to renovate the facility from top to bottom. 25,000 sq. ft. in additional meeting and prefunction space was added, and every system upgraded or replaced, from HVAC to Internet to the kitchen and servery facilities.
The facility hosts many major conventions each year, including Technology Students Association (4,000 attendees), Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (2,500 attendees), Int’l Order of the Rainbow for Girls (1,100 attendees) and many others.
In addition, the center hosts Waco’s larger weddings and quinceaneras, as there are very few venues in the area that can accommodate 800 — 1,900 guests. Proms, graduation ceremonies, seminars, banquets, and corporate meetings and events round out the mix.
