History
Established in 1981.
Established in Chaska in 1981, Ladybug Child Care Center is still a family owned and operated child care center.
In 2006, Ladybug began construction in Waconia on our second site. Ladybug Child Care Center opened in Waconia on August 4, 2007. Currently, Ladybug teaches and cares for children ages 6 weeks to age 12.

Who ever heard of a 4 year old and a 6 year old naming a business? But, odd as that may be, it is what happened. When I considered opening a child care center, as they were called back in 1981, I first looked at the names of other centers. Problem was those names all seemed too adult or too stuffy to be about children. So, I consulted an expert on children — Mother Goose. But now how to choose? What would be easily remembered? Gripped by indecision, this time I turned to non-experts, people for whom the world was simple and simply fun-the 4 and 6 year olds mentioned at the beginning of this story. Let us not forget their 2 year old brother! Together, they declared «Ladybug» it would be, and thus it is!
As for that 6 and 2 year old – well, they grew up; but still attend Ladybug every day! You know them as Miss Michelle and Mr. Stephen. And during more than 30 years, Ladybug has been home to my six children and my other 5000 or so!
