The Inn at East Wind Long Island

Attended a business retreat at East wind. The staff was very accommodating. Kerry the manager of business events was generous and helped our group. The restaurant was excellent. The wait staff was wonderful the best part was the cheesecake. I had the eggplant rollatini and salad and cheesecake. Everything was delicious.

My husband and I are soooo happy we chose this venue for our wedding. My sales rep, Laura, Maitre D, Scott, and Bridal Attendant, Mary Lou went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect! The food was incredible and since we didn’t hire a florist, we needed a lot of help. I would recommend this venue to EVERYONE! We had our rehearsal dinner at Desmond’s and EVERYONE loved the food and the service. I also got a massage the day before the wedding at the spa and it was amazing! I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for us.

Ok. Did not meet my expectations. Room was ok. No view. Sink in bathroom cracked. Little things bothered me like coffee pot in room had two cups but only 1 pack of creamer auger and stirrer. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean bed was ok. Pillows were terrible.

All was resolved.

My visit this past weekend was my 2^nd time at this establishment and I couldn’t rave enough about the staff and the food! The hotel is exquisite and food is outrageous. I recommend this venue to anyone getting married or looking to host a party even the parking attendants were polite and friendly and very accommodating helping cary our bags to our room! My only negative is they didn’t have a bellhop to help us to our room but my niece’s wedding was superb and magnificent!!!

Let me give you the context of our visit: The wife and I got a fall escape package for our anniversary which included a room and a few brochures ranging from 10 to $ 50. With the that said we were very excited to visit this place mainly because one of our friends had her weeding here and it was beautiful.
But (here is the big but) after spending the night here we have a total different opinion.
Let’s start with the disappointingly creepy pool area which it reminded me of a basement, then there was a tiny fitness area which consisted of 2 or 3 stair climbers and a raggedy bowflex type of machine, extremely disappointed.
Once we got to the spa both sides (men & women) had tiny steam and sauna rooms, when we inquired about the jacuzzi we were told that it costs extra if we wanted to use it (what a joke).
Now for the good, we got two full body massages which were incredible, I have to say the masseuses were wonderful and very friendly.
The room were we stayed was nice but it was missing little things like slippers and the the light in the bathroom mirror wasn’t working which needless to say annoyed the heck out of the wife.
In my humble opinion if you want the «the more bang for your money» spa wise, travel farther east to Gurneys. Lesson learned.

I had my wedding at East wind this past Friday 10÷9÷15 in the veranda and had an amazing experience. Laura Allison was my coordinator and always was there to answer my questions. When I met our maitre’d and bridal attendant they were fabulous. They took care of us and our guests all night. We were never without food or a drink. They set up the night perfectly… they let us have alone time before cocktail hour and brought us a sampling of all our food. Then during the night they brought us drinks constantly. We then got a sample of all the dinner food and it was amazing! She even brought us 2 perfect Icecream sundaes so we wouldn’t have to wait in line. At the end of the night they walked is to our room with all our belongings plus all the leftovers.
Our cake was amazing and from francescos bakery. We paid to have flowers put on it from their florist and she did a great job! The cake looked and tasted amazing. The room was decorated so beautiful and the centerpieces were awesome!
We chose Marco photography and Adam was our photographer. I loved him! He was so nice, calm and funny. He took every shot I wanted plus soooo many of his own in all locations. He was patient and had great ideas. I would recommend him! They also do not charge any extra for the day. He came to our house at 12 and followed us everywhere we went.
We chose Tommy tunes and they did a great job! The floor was always packed and he played all great songs. He played almost every song we requested and didn’t play any if we weren’t in the room. We also paid extra for the up lighting and it was so worth it!
We chose sir Oliver for the limo and our driver was amazing. He totally took charge at my house and directed my parents (who were overwhelmed) on what to do. He packed the limo and at the church he directed everyone. He calmed me down by explaining what was happening.
The food was amazing and huge portions and they come around with seconds. We also payed for breakfast the next day and it was delicious!
My one complaint is the hotel portion of eastwind. I wouldn’t have done anything different because it is so convenient but no one’s knows what they are doing there. I had to book my own room 3 times because they never had my reservation or didn’t know how to look it up. They wouldn’t let people know about our block when we called so guest kept calling me confused. They spelled everyone’s name wrong. They are over priced and it seems they don’t care, especially the women in charge. It all worked out ok but I didn’t like dealing with them at all.
That aside I had a perfect dream wedding and would recommend east wind to any bride. The price is right and they do an amazing job and have amazing vendors!

Awful! Stay away! I recently stayed here for a wedding. A couple of weeks later I noticed an extra charge on my credit card. The horribly rude person on the phone said it was due to smoking in the room. However, I do not smoke and no one was in the room. Her response was «too bad.» So disgusted!

My husband and I enjoyed the wine tour a few weeks ago. Our driver Lamonte was friendly and accommodating! Kristy at jamesport vineyard was amazing– she gave us a great dinner recommendation (la Plage wading river) and the wine was great too! Macari vineyard had delicious dessert wine and the deck out back was relaxing and quiet! We ditched baiting hollow and went to LIV (just up the road from BH) and enjoyed bloody Mary’s and the best Gin & tonics ever! I highly recommend this tour with our little switch at the end! Thank you #EastWindlongisland for a great stay and the massages in the spa were excellent too! Can’t wait to come back again as soon as we can sneak out of work for a Sunday and Monday get away!

I recently got married at the east wind, and they do a fantastic job. My maitre d and bridal attendant were so good at their jobs, I did not worry about a single thing on my wedding day. We had an after party and breakfast at Desmond’s, the restaurant located right in the east wind. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights, too. The rooms are huge! I would definitely recommend the east wind to anybody planning his or her wedding.

my husband and i drove from from CT to attend my brothers wedding, which was held at the cottage next to the inn. when we arrived, we had to wait 45 mins to check into our room. once in the room, we discovered several damages/​things in need of repair (pictures included).
the fitness room downstairs was a joke — the cardio machines were old and dirty, and only half of them actually worked. the weight stacks were cracked and the pins did not fit into the holes, so lifting weights was impossible. as someone who likes to maintain an active lifestyle when traveling, this was a huge disappointment.
when we checked out, we were surprised by the bill — $ 249 plus tax, for one night?! i would expect to pay that at a 4 – 5 star hotel with great amenities, certainly not at this hotel.
one thing that i did enjoy was the large jacuzzi-​style tub in our bathroom. other than that, it was hard to find the positives during our short stay here. we will not be returning.

I stayed over one night with my fiancé because we wanted to tour the grounds to potentially have our wedding there. we are from nassau county bordering queens so it was definitely a drive but it was so worth it! the place is absolutely gorgeous, we had an official tour with Faith, one of the banquet sales managers and she convinced us to have our wedding there. we toured a few different rooms that fit our budget but ultimately we chose the Estate room because of it is secluded from the rest of the grounds and was my favorite room/​menu! knowing that my fiancé and i were spending the night, faith had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne sent to our room which was a really thoughtful (& delicious) gesture!!! we had dinner at Desmond’s located at East Wind and it was really good!!! it was affordable too, we went with the prefixed price option which included an appetizer, dinner, and dessert — yum.
over the next few weeks faith kept in great contact with me and eventually we settled on a date and we booked! she’s really accommodating and willing to work with budgets so i really appreciated that.
what we loved most about east wind was that it was a place where we could build memories with our family in the future — whether its just spending the night or hosting our children’s baptisms, etc. so we really liked the idea of having a wedding venue that we could still continue to visit in the future.
our wedding won’t be until april of 2017 so ill write another review in the future.
till then, i suggest any prospective bride to call and request Faith! definitely attend the bridal expo they have too (its free if you already had a consultation with them) — they had a great display of the foods and desserts and so many great vendors that know the properties well!

I was fortunate enough to be invited as a guest for a wedding being held at The Inn at East Wind Long Island. I’ve never heard of this place before and since it was so far away, something had to be special about this place, because why else would they choose to have their wedding here.
I always enjoyed reviewing wedding venues and now with the power of Unilocal,I can easily post my reviews for the whole world to see. That being said, the two most important things to me when it comes to a wedding are: décor and food.
My first impression pulling up to this place was that this venue is going to be amazing. Their perfectly manicured property grounds really caught my eye. The setting is one of simple serenity and elegance: a garden path brimming with beautiful flowers, an artfully crafted arbor leading to a Victorian gazebo, and a waterfall softly trickling into a stream set the background.
We were a little early for the wedding so we decided to give ourselves a tour of the joint and boy were we pleased. Upon entering the main entrance we were greeted by a beautiful, classic, double staircase that leads you to either wing of the building. It reminded me of a scene from a storybook.
This property is so big, my only request is that they offer some sort of shuttle service from building to building as many of the patrons were elderly and cannot do such a walk on stone pavers.
The actual wedding reception was a very intimate gathering of the bride and groom’s close family and friends. The cocktail hour began in the Cottage, and it sure had a cottage setting to it. The property looks like it was updated probably 10 years ago, the problem is methinks they forgot to redo the Cottage. I felt like I was back in the 80s. The same can be said about the food. With such a beautifully update property I was expecting the food to just as updated. Gone are the days when you can get away with serving onion rings as an appetizer at a cocktail hour. I hope the Inn will realize that sooner than later.
After the cocktail hour, we were asked to go to another room for the main reception. Again the room felt outdated and the wait staff looked like they didn’t care to be there. Dirty uniforms, not properly groomed, and unattentive. The only thing that salvaged the reception and made the night enjoyable was the big piece of steak that I got as my entrée.
The Inn at East Wind Long Island has the potential to be one of the best Wedding Venues on the island, it just needs to beef up it’s menu and focus it’s attention on improving all aspects of the property grounds and not just the main entrance.

Spent the night, room was very Long Island Gaudy, I liked it. It was clean, staff was really nice, parking was easy. I spent a few hours in the spa, it was fantastic. I stay at a dozen hotels a year, this was a great one I would recommend to anyone.

I organized a Formal at this place. The process was very smooth and dealing with them was pleasant. Day of, upon arrival things went downhill. Every guest had some kind of problem at check in– from the rooms to the service. The event went smooth except for the fact that the food was EXTREMELY under cooked– couldn’t even eat our main course.
Oh and not one employee at this venue emailed or called me to find out how our event went :) And they were very aware we had some issues with them the day of.
Overall– Fun time, bad service.

Easter Brunch :) this is our third year and we love it! Food is fresh — service is fantastic and everyone has a great time — every time!

My boyfriend surprised me by taking me here for my birthday weekend and I had a memorable time from the moment we checked in til the moment we drove off the lot! We stayed there 3÷22−3÷23
First Impression
Just driving up to the hotel, you already know you’re going to be living like kings and queens. The architecture of the building and the grounds are meticulously kept. Once you step inside, the awe continues!
The Room
We had a suite which means it came with a jacuzzi tub. The room was very «royal» looking as I had initially described it to my boyfriend. The dressings of the room match the vibe of the hotel to a T and the jacuzzi tub was to die for. For the price of the rooms and the quality of the service, I was a little indifferent to the fact that we had a pretty old television in the room. You would expect an updated flatscreen. Other than that, you had robes in your room to lounge in after a soak, high quality complimentary toiletries, and an in-​room safe. Our suite didn’t have a mini fridge so we weren’t able to keep leftovers from Desmond’s.
The Spa
Maybe I’m just not used to being pampered, but I was in love with the spa! The boyfriend surprised me with a facial and a massage (1 on one day, 1 on the next day) and each experience was great. They first escort you to the locker room where you change into a robe and flops. Then you wait in their relaxation room which is dimly lit, has a gorgeous fountain in the middle of the room, and a tea bar with fresh fruit. Both times I was called by my technician at least 5 minutes past my appointment time. The facial room and massage room were very cozy and elegantly decorated. Each experience was unique, relaxing, and refreshing. I received the basic facial which was $ 95 and then a Swedish massage which was also $ 95. I usually get a massage monthly where I live and this particular masseuse, Okky, was out of this world. I recommend him 100%.
The Restaurant
They have an American-​style cuisine restaurant on-​site called Desmond’s (please see my separate review for full details) but this restaurant helped make my experience there even better!
Overall
I give this place ⁵⁄₅ stars. I felt like a princess, the service was incredible, the food was amazing, the spa was upscale and it was overall the perfect birthday weekend. We will definitely be returning in the warmer months to experience the pool and everything else this place has to offer.

This place is beautiful. There is no doubt about it. I had my senior prom here and then this weekend I was invited to a wedding here.
Arriving an hour before the wedding began, we decided to sit at the bar. I ordered a Jameson and Gingerale. Not too bad. My sister ordered a vodka martini extra dirty and she really enjoyed it. The rest of our party drank wine, which they liked.
Cocktail hour was lovely. So much food, especially cheese. But all very delicious. At the bar I ordered a vodka tonic and I couldn’t even drink it. Tonic water tasted like sprite and the vodka was so watered down, strike one. Then our family friend ordered a glass of wine, the glass was dirty. Strike two.
As we entered the ball room, everything was beautiful. The second we sat down someone came over to take our dinner order. After a little while our first course was brought out. It was a spinach salad with grilled shrimp and pancetta vinaigrette. So delicious. After a moment I decide to try and get another drink. I ordered a tequila pineapple. It was horrific. One of the worst cocktails I have ever had in my entire life. The pineapple juice was funky and the tequila was, once again, watered down. Strike three. I gave up after that. Even the champagne we toasted with was repulsive. It’s a crime to serve bad drinks. But, I wasn’t getting married, so it wasn’t my decision.
Food was good, especially for a wedding, my meat was cooked to the appropriate temperature, which is impressive. Staff was very accommodating and polite, and the venue was beautiful. Aside from the drinks, I had a lovely time.
