Probably the best place to get breakfast in Wahiawa. Order to-go or sit inside. Either way, the food is great, and the price, it’s reasonable. You get a lot more than if you were to go elsewhere. Get the Fried Rice Breakfast Plate, $ 8+ with whatever meat you want(vienna sausage, Portuguese, link, or bacon) and they give you a lot. I got the one that came with bacon, and it came with about 6 – 7 thick crispy pieces of bacon. Yum yum. Does it come with eggs? Yes. Definitely a must. Tips: –Cash only

We only eat one thing here and that is the fried rice. We usually call it in and they are super quick. We often order multiple orders(like 10 – 15) and ask that they put it together– to take to sport pot luck — and people love it! The staff is amazing– a lot of hard working ladies.

THE best breakfast I had my whole trip in Hawaii. I had the fried rice special with eggs over medium and I tried different meats, but I liked their Portuguese sausage. It was the best fried rice I’ve ever had in my life. My husband opted for the pancakes which were fluffy and huge. We came for the plate lunch a few times too and I have to say, it was way better than other plate lunches we’ve had.

I was recently in Wahiawa to pick up a friend for a coffee date, and since she literally lives right around the corner from Sunny Side, I simply had to stop by the bakery after dropping her off. I know this bakery is famous for their pear peach pie, but I prefer the chocolate cream flavor, so I knew I was going to ask if it were available. Sunny Side has a small parking lot in front for customers. It seemed like you could either order outside from the window or inside, so I just went inside. Customers were eating at some of the tables, but the older bakery was definitely not crowded during the time of my visit. I was just grateful to have found a parking spot in one of the outside stalls. I asked if the chocolate cream pie was available or in stock, and the lady at the inside window told me it was. Note: Sunny Side takes cash only, so make sure you have enough if you want to buy an entire pie. I opted for an entire pie since I was taking this home for my whole family to enjoy(versus one slice); it was about $ 10.75. Not too bad for a whole pie. But, I figured I might as well order a whole pie, since we’re hardly out in the Wahiawa area. Pies aren’t my favorite when it comes to desserts, but this chocolate cream pie is an exception. I truly enjoy the silky texture of the chocolate layer, and even though I don’t like custardy textures, I actually don’t mind the whipped layer of this pie since it’s really light. But, my favorite part of this pie has to be the crust — it’s fresh, crumbly and buttery, and there’s absolutely nothing like it. Caution: Just be sure to put your pie in the fridge if you’re not planning to consume it immediately. It was a hot drive from Wahiawa back home, but the lady at the bakery told me that the pie would be fine, as long as it was safely in the fridge in about two hours.

If you or your workers don’t like people taking pictures in your establishment then post signs so that I know before hand so that I can choose to go somewhere else. Not talk about me only so loud that I can hear you. That just ruins my meal that I already paid for and makes me not want to come back.

One of my favorite breakfast spots especially when my homebody personality kicks in. Parking is tight here, so I usually do a phone order I can just be in and out. Fried rice is so close to tasting homemade, it’s irresistible. Paired with sunny side up eggs and bacon and there’s no reason to complain. Service may be slow at times, but that’s because they are accommodating for so many people and orders. Dining area is very comfortable and laid back if you choose to dine in. Don’t get me started on the pies, I wish I could take several home at one visit. Hardest decision of every visit is deciding if I should get several slices of every pie or taking home full pie! Chocolate pie, blue berry pie or my favorite peach pear! Go early to have a wider selection but what ever you choose, you’re sure to enjoy!

This mom and pop spot has been around for many years and with good reason. I can’t even count how many times I have come to eat here. They have the best breakfast around! The fried rice and homemade pies are probably what they are most known for. I’ve tried about everything they have to offer here and have never found a spot to satisfy me as well as this one. My favorite breakfast plate is the Fried Rice Special and is around 6 bucks. The plate comes with a huge portion of their amazing fried rice, 1 egg however you like it, and a hot dog(spam if u choose). The lunch specials are also worth coming by for as well. 5⁄5 stars because the food is so amazing and I would drive any distance to eat here any day. This is a neighborhood staple that you need to visit at least once in your life!

Great food, and great pies! Came here to pick up some pies for my friends, but stayed for the breakfast. I got the fried rice breakfast, and it was pretty good. Nothing special, but really good. Nice place to come for breakfast and pies! Haha.

This place never lets me down. If I wake up in time to get some fried rice, I usually always go w/the fried rice special w hotdog. If I go during lunch time, I like the steak w/onions. You can order either on the outside or go inside to sit down & eat. For dessert, try any of their pies! So good. I love the chocolate cream pie. This place is cash only so come prepared!

I like my eggs sunny side medium. When Lady L dragged me out of bed early to catch the North Shore monster waves I said only if there’s gonna be breakfast and it better be dang good. She said yes. But breakfast never came. She tells me it’s a hole in the wall place she’s been coming to for a long time. No problem. I like those kind places. She tells me this place is pretty famous. Ok. But, I’m too sleepy to get excited. She tells me the pies are good and we need to call it in because they run out fast. After going over the possible options I choose blueberry cream. On the east side of Kilani off of California ave, we pull into an empty parking lot. There’s a few people at the take out counter. Looking inside the restaurant, dead. Are you sure this place is famous? Are you sure the food is good? Lady L also said the food was good and cheap. I don’t know what to believe. Inside the tables and décor is from the 70s. The feel of the place, not the look, reminds me of Kam’s(good friend of mine) in Ewa Beach back in the day. The selection of plate lunches is small. What catches my eye is the hamburger steak is $ 6.75. I’m looking over the breakfast options but my eyes keep going back to the chop steak. The lady behind the counter tells us what vegetables are with it and I’m sold when she says onions and tomatoes. They only accept cash. So glad to see there are still some of us that will only accept the true currency. After our orders were placed, people start coming in. I kept hearing hamburger steak. My jaw dropped when I saw the first hambersteak come out. My eyes got big when I saw the 2nd one. Those were 2 big, thick patties that looked so tender as these bruddahs chowed down on some serious cow. I have got to try that next time I come. Blueberry Cream Pie $ 10.00 Let me just say this. Better than what I’ve been getting from Foodland and Safeway. Chop Steak $ 8.50 Love the flavor in here. Vegetables were not soft but still a little firm. The onions were great. There was a good amount of meat. Had a nice piece with almost every bite. There was some gravy that went well with the little white rice I ate. Okay, so I didn’t get breakfast but I did get something better. Blueberry Cream and Chop Steak. My options in Wahiawa just got expanded. And, there’s a bullseye on that hamburger steak I’m aiming for. Dang it. She was right.

If ever in Wahiawa or on your way to North Shore this place is a must stop! Or maybe you’re craving PIE then this is definitely the place to get it. This is one of my frequent breakfast spots during the workweek if I’m craving something hearty or comforting. Fried rice, over medium egg, and either bacon, Portuguese sausage, or corn beef hash. And if I had a good workout or just want to treat myself I’ll add a slice of pie! Or maybe I always add a slice of pie(because they’re pretty good)! Chocolate cream pie, blueberry, Apple, peach, banana! Ahhhh maybe I’ll start buying an extra slice to eat during my lunch break haha. I love the mom and pop atmosphere. You can tell this place has been a staple in the community for some time. The aunties are always friendly and willing to explain the menu which isn’t the most clear especially if it’s your first visit. I’ll probably pick up a few pies for this upcoming Thanksgiving(I’m writing this review in January 2016 haha). I think it’ll be a nice addition to the family gatherings. Oh yeah this place is cash only!

If you don’t know… Now you know! If you’ve grown up in Hawaii then you gotta know SunnySide breakfast special. If not how can you not resist fried rice, eggs, and either bacon or spam for less than $ 7?! Their fried rice is so good so just get it. Pies on the other hand. I’m personally not a pie eater. I just don’t like pie but I really enjoyed their peach pear pie. I don’t know what it is but it’s really a bite of heaven. Be sure to call ahead to see what’s available and just a heads up… It’s literally warm at pickup. Yum!!!

Cute café tucked away in Wahiawa just before the Wahiawa District park. Parking lot right in front with about a dozen stalls. You can order from the take out window or inside if you choose to dine in. Look for the pie of the day on the menu, and you can get them by the slice or the whole pie.

I asked a friend for a favor and had to travel quite a bit of ways to meet him. He asked for the chocolate cream pie, which is best to pre-order to guarantee you will have a pie waiting for you. Trust me, people from all over the island travel for this«chocolate cream pie». I’m sorry, I don’t eat this, so it’s kind of odd that I’m writing a review on a pie I have never tasted. But I had to mention, what I say it true, people travel from all over to get this pie and while standing in line, almost every other person is ordering a slice. I personally like their cheese burgers, it has that homemade taste. Parking lot is small, but lots of street parking.

$ 1.50 for a slice of pie? I’m there! The chocolate cream pie wasn’t as expected, but it was only because I read«chocolate cream pie,» but thought, «chocolate haupia pie.» Once I realized my mistake, my verdict was that this was an ok pie, although nothing mind blowing. The $ 1.50 price tag sold me more than the pie itself. For that price, you really can’t go wrong. While I wouldn’t make a special trip to Sunny Side(seriously, is it one word or two? Various signs spell it either way!), I’d visit if nearby to try their other pie offerings.
