In 2009 the restaurant opened as BUZZ’S Sand Trap and in late 2011, began doing business as Waikoloa Grill’n Bar. Same location, same owner, seasoned restauranteur Dickie Furtado, Our Chefs specializie in healthy fresh island flavors, grilled steaks & seafood. Located in Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Kohala Coast on The Big Island of Hawaii, offering locals, returning part time residents and vacationers an opportunity to experience something special! Richard «Dickie» Furtado, owner of the restaurant, comes from a family of restaurateurs & entrepreneurs on the Hawaiian Islands, with their restaurants always featuring a simple menu, casual atmosphere, great steaks, seafood & spirits along with outstanding flavors! Our culinary team and exciting new menu offers diners fresh, lighter, healthier choices, while still offering popular Furtado timeless favorites & comfort food! Generating a real «buzz.» at Waikoloa Grill’n Bar, formerly «Buzz’s» Dickie carries on the family’s tradition. You must try Dickie’s signature Calamari appetizer, which he shares with other family restaurants, like Buzz’s Original Steak Houses on Oahu. Dickie calls Waikoloa Grill’ N Bar «a throw-back» to days gone by. He believes that you should be able to go out for a good meal, have a couple of good drinks, be comfortable and not suffer when paying the bill.
