Tradewinds Mart & Deli

Really great food. Had sandwiches, chicken and rice, and chili dogs. All were amazing and the guy behind the counter it’s so cool and friendly.

Overpriced, dingy and a little sketchy. But the guy behind the counter is super friendly!

You know, it’s been a while since I stepped foot in here, but when I did, I was pleasantly surprised! I came to try their fried rice, and after speaking with the lady there, who I found out was the owner, I left there with much more!
As I waited for my order, I gazed around the store and saw that they had some fresh vegetables for below open market prices! I asked about this and she said they usually have fresh vegetables to sell cheap daily. If I could have, I would have bought all, but that would have depleted their inventory for the numerous condos around the area.
After tasting their fried rice, I must say, it was the best I’ve had on Maui! She admitted they get it from someone in Haiku, but they also have it almost daily. Very delicious and worth going there just for that! During the weekdays, their hot food is available about 11 a.m.
Their sandwiches, all homemade, are also very tasty and worth the cost. Definitely not Subway, but not commercialized either! Pick up a bag of chips and you have a picnic waiting to happen!
Like a little Mom and Pops store, but in the heart of Maalaea. Limited parking, but convenient if you’re on a tour there and wanting to eat something other than sandwiches from the nearby deli.
Tradewinds is not visible from the Street, and is tucked away on the ocean side of the first condo off of Hauoli Street. If you drive in, round the building and there are a couple of parking stalls there. If you walk near the Coast Guard building, walk further toward the condos and you will see Tradewinds to your left, in the very first building.
Tradewinds is a little convenience mart set up for everyone, and they have almost anything you could possibly need if you’re on a tour, hungry or a kamaaina who is missing something for a recipe or craving a little snack! They even sell liquor!

Very, very small but very cool. My 12 year old girl needed chap stick. I said let’s try this place and they had it. They also have beer which is good. And fruit, snacks, personal hygiene type stuff, etc. The gal working the register was friendly and helpful. Neat place.
BTW. If you are going on one of the boats in the harbor next door and you forgot or need something try this place, they just might have it. :-)

We stopped by looking for a quick snack and a coffee. My husband and I shared a ham and Swiss sandwich on a Hoagie roll. I was pleasantly surprised to find the roll toasted. It was very good and the perfect blend of the tangy Dijon mustard with the flavor of the meat and cheese.

Best little Deli on the island. Friendly staff & great selection. There Lunch specials are great! :-)

I love this place! Great specials! Great service! Just a quick lunch at a good price! Perfect lunch to take to the beach!

ok… here is a small little market in the back of a condo complex. Doesn’t
look like much but if you are looking for a quick, cheap breakfast snack, or a great lunch to take to the beach, this place is the one. Fresh made fruit salad in the mornings… bananas, strawberries, mango, pinapple, all for about $ 4. And then there is the special take out lunches… if you like curry… this place makes it on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Red one day, yellow the other. A big portion for only $ 5. The curry can’t be beat. We like the yellow the best but others prefer red. Only problem is that you’ve got to get there before noon. All the locals know about this place and go there for lunch. The curry is usually gone by 12:30! And, lets not forget the deli sandwiches… for $ 6.99 ea they can’t be beat! This is a take out place. If thats what you’re looking for and you’re in the area try it…
