History

Established in 2012.

To understand our history, you need to meet our Captain, Bryan Clark:

A sailor of Hawaiian waters since 1998, Bryan started his boating career on Catalina Island, fishing & parasailing. Wanting to experience the ocean not just as a hobby or employment, he moved to Hawaii and the ocean became his lifestyle.

With a 100ton Captain’s License in-​hand, his first position as a captain on a charter fishing boat was on the Reel Pleasure out of Kawaihae; a boat that remains in our fleet, now moored in Ko’Olina Harbor on the island of Oahu.

Next, Bryan heeded a call & headed to Saipan to work on a 75ft catamaran, running Saipan sunset cruises. After a couple of years, Hawaii was tugging at his heart once again and he returned, to continue fishing & sailing along the Kona & Kohala coasts for a local and well-​known company here on the Big Island. With vast amounts of knowledge & experience gleaned from his years at sea, he decided to start his own business: Endless Summer Private Charters~

A sailor of Hawaiian waters since 1998, Bryan started his boating career on Catalina Island, fishing and parasailing. Wanting to experience the ocean not just as a hobby or employment, he moved to Hawaii and the ocean became his lifestyle.

With a 100 ton Captain’s License in-​hand, his first position as a captain on a charter fishing boat was on the Reel Pleasure out of Kawaihae; a boat that remains in our fleet, however now moored in Ko’Olina Harbor on the island of Oahu.

With vast amounts of knowledge and experience gleaned from his years at sea, he decided to start his own business: Endless Summer Private Charters on the Makani Kai II. He continues to do what he loves, and he loves sharing ocean life, incredible sea adventures, and the thrill of Big Island sport fishing with anyone with a pulse. He is a surfer, and sailor and devoted to the Hawaiian lifestyle.

His acquaintances have become guests, and his guests have become friends.

What a day — like no day has ever been! There were six of us — ages from 12 to 73 — and we had the time of our lives! Brian found many, many spinner Dolphins and it was an indescribable experience to swim in the open ocean with them. He and Damon were full of information and were very concerned with our safety and comfort — Damon was always in the water with us while Brian piloted the boat. They served fresh pineapple, chips, sandwiches and drinks. The grand finale was a snorkel in one of the most beautiful coves we’ve ever seen — gorgeous fish, crystal clear water and spectacular reef formations. We turned for home and suddenly there were more Dolphins swimming escort at the bow of the catamaran. We will always remember our day with Brian and Damon and the Dolphins — five stars are not enough! Mahalo

This is the way to do it… a private charter gives you so much more of an experience. Another boat floated by that was packed with people. We had all the room we needed to enjoy the time on the water all to ourselves. Captain B, Damon, and Liam were the perfect guides. My family laughed and played and had the best time. This was the highlight of our trip to the big island. Three days later and we are still talking about it.

Incredible, once in a lifetime experience off the coast of the big island! We saw dolphins, turtles, whales AND a whale shark… all on our short 3 hr trip. Of course all rides can’t have great «boat mojo» like that but Capt Bryan and crew do everything they can to help you have a good time. Very fun, knowledgeable and accommodating crew. Katie was a standout, with a really enthusiastic, friendly attitude. Def worth doing if you’re on the big island.

I’ve been on many boat rides in Hawaii and this was one of the best. It’s small and intimate and they basically can tailor the cruise to whatever you are wanting. We swam with dolphins 3 times and watched whales breaching. Great way to spend the morning. Loved every minute. Oh and they were especially awesome with our two kids 3 and 5 years old. They both swam in the water with dolphins!

Wow this was so worth it! We sent 3.5 hours out on the water. Jackson and Katie knew lots of history, science, and random stuff about dolphins and whales, enough to impress my 10 year old which is hard! They also knew Hawai’ian history and pointed out sights along the way. They were great with our two kids aged 5 and 10. Lots of little extras like water, snacks, snorkel gear, floats provided to make it super easy on us. And with only 6 max, it was very personal and tailored to what we wanted to see/​do.
We saw whales galore, 15 over the course of hte trip, some far away, some very close, depending on their whims… One did tail splashes right at us, another breached, it was AMAZING!
We ended up surrounded by a superpod of spinner dolphins, maybe 200ish? for 30 minutes. They swam around the boat, played in the wake, did aerial acrobatics for us. They ignored the other two boats near us, and Jackson said he was pretty sure the dolphins can recognize boats, and since they never mess with the dolphins or chase them, they seem to like his boat best!
We also went snorkeling a little and it was great! But probably that you can find anywhere.
This was well worth the $$ — best tour of it’s kind we’ve ever been on.

Aloha from Jen and Anne! I’ll try to keep this short since there are a million things I could say about Captain Bryan and his crew. We booked our dolphin swim adventure at the concierge desk at our hotel with no real idea what to expect, just their recommendation that this was the best boat we could get ourselves on. Boy were they right! From the moment of introductions through the entire trip we felt like we were out with friends. Not to mention, within what felt like 5 minutes of getting on the boat we were already in the water swimming inches away from beautiful, playful spinner Dolphins! Katy was an awesome guide and showed us some great stuff while we snorkeled our hearts out all morning. The trip was so good that the next day we cancelled another planned excursion and booked another trip with these guys. Add Renee into the mix and it was another incredible day, this time we swam with sea turtles as well! Such an attentive crew, so friendly and hospitable, and they even went out of their way to make sure one of the kiddos in another group was having fun. If I could give them 10 stars I would, these guys will be seeing us every time we are on the island. Thanks for the incredible time!

We spent 3 – 4 hrs on the boat with Captain Bryant and Troy. Most fun on our 10 day stay on the Big Island. We literally were swimming with a pod of spinner dolphins in the wild within 30 minutes of leaving the harbor. My 7 year old got in the water with me and all she talks about is this part of our trip. A friend recommended Captain Bryant and he didn’t disappoint. Nice work guys… see you next year!

I’ve been meaning to post this review for almost a year and finally remembered when I looked at the pictures my wife and I took when out with Captain Bryant. This was far and away one of the best recommendations I could make for things to do on the island.
When we called Captain Bryant to book a trip on his boat to swim with Dolphins he said he couldn’t make any guarantees but that most likely we’d have luck. I really appreciated that he told us that before we even booked the trip although based on the previous reviews I felt very comfortable booking with him even if we didn’t get to see anything.
It ended up being an awesome experience. We found a pod of over 50 dolphins and Captain Bryant made the experience awesome. Really appreciated the service he provided and would use him again for any trip that he offers. Couldn’t recommend it more!

My wife and I booked a dolphin snorkel with Captain Bryant and Endless Summer private charters and it was nothing short of spectacular! Captain Bryant and Troy take excellent care of their guests and are very knowledgeable on the area, dolphins, fish etc. After about 15 – 20 out we were already in the water swimming with multiple pods of dolphins, some of 30 or more! After we got back on the boat Troy took excellent care of us providing us with snacks, drinks and great knowledge as Captain Bryant took us to a private cove. The snorkeling there was amazing as well! Many different species of fish and coral. Troy showed us many things we may not have seen on our own. After about an hour snorkel in the cove we got back on the boat and enjoyed the cruise back to the harbor on the great catamaran boat, which was a great experience in itself. I highly recommend booking any trip you can with these guys, they really love what they do and it shows! I believe they will only book up to 6 people so it is very nice to have the extra room and time in the water with a smaller group. Great experience and couldn’t be happier with our decision to book with them!

Captain Bryan is very good at what he does. I’ve been out with him three times over the past two years. Any one of the three would have been worth 5 stars, but three 5-​star trips in a row? This guy is incredible.
We saw whales, we saw dolphins, we saw unbelievable sunsets, everyone on the boat was chill, like being among friends.

What a fantastic opportunity provided by this charter. Captain Bryan customized our adventure to our expectations: snorkeling along the northern Kohala Gold Coast where we saw an abundant variety of tropical fish and other sea life; and swimming with the spinner dolphins just outside of Kawaihae harbor. The dolphins were inquisitive and they approached us fairly close. Not our first trip with Endless Summer in Kawaihae and each time has been better than the last. We have also been whale watching with them last year.

We went on a dolphin watching and snorkeling cruise and had a blast. Captain Bryant was extremely hospitable and welcoming and bent over backwards to make sure we had a dolphin encounter. To say he knows the waters is an understatement… he took us to a great location for snorkeling as well. But besides the wildlife encounters, cruising up and down that coastline was very relaxing and probably just as enjoyable. Don’t miss an opportunity to cruise with Endless Summer Charters!

We went on a 3 hour Whale Watching cruise and had the time of our lives! From the first interactions with the booking agent (Penny) to the actual cruising with Capt. Bryan and First Mate Jeremy, it was TOP-​NOTCH customer service. We got to the boat, which was a catamaran (love those! makes me feel so close to the water) and met our team Capt Bryan and Jeremy. Both were so attentive and thought three steps ahead to make sure the cruise was as comfortable and wonderful as possible. We even saw a BABY WHALE! My heart literally almost exploded from cuteness. :) Also, Capt. Bryan was an encyclopedia of facts — from whales to Hawaii. Super knowledgeable! Now, here’s my favorite part. He takes us to a snorkeling spot and sets us up to go see some amazing stuff. In the distance, I see another charter boat with like 15 people on it! We had 4… our experience was much more intimate. After that, they threw a kneeboard out and we had fun hanging out while being pulled by the boat. We even stood up a couple of time! That was SUPER FUN!
When on the Big Island, think about supporting a small business and having the time of your lives. CHOOSE ENDLESS SUMMER CHARTERS!!! You will not be disappointed and go home with the best memories. You can’t have this many 5 star Unilocal ratings without having the secret recipe. Plus, the Captain’s laugh is awesome!

This was by far my favorite adventure of our honeymoon!!! Previously, I had done the «pretend to be a dolphin trainer» thing, but this blows it out of the water!
Within 15 minutes of being out on the boat, we found a pod of spinner dolphins and just jumped right into the water with them! Captain Bryan knew exactly where to take the boat to maximize our interaction with them! We didn’t wear a wet suit, and it felt so freeing to swim along with the dolphins! There ended up about being 30 of them, and a little baby that was so adorable!
We were able to find them again and were able to get even closer! It took everything in me to not reach out and touch them all! It was certainly the quickest I have ever swam. We bought a GoPro to play with on all of our underwater adventures, and I am SO glad I have videos to look back on!
We went to a second snorkeling site, and were able to swim around on our own. After being out for about 10 minutes, a little sea turtle came out of nowhere and started playing with us! It was so friendly and cute! Once we were back on the boat, I also tried to give paddle-​boarding a go (little bit of a fail) but fun! They provided some snacks which really hit the spot after all that swimming.
I recommend this charter to anyone looking to swim with dolphins. It was a small group, the crew was amazing (they kept checking to see if we wanted water or snacks), and the captain knew exactly where to take us to see dolphins! Do it!!!
