Tony Group Autoplex

I’ve never met a harder worker than Tommy. He helped me when I bought my company van and today I just bought a Pro4. I went online and filled out the app. It was super easy. Then a day or so later Tommy contacted me and I told him what I was interested in. My credit isn’t the best I’m working on rebuilding it from my first marriage. Tommy was able to get me the very best deal possible and I drove home with the very vehicle I wanted. These guys aren’t pushy. Their style at their company isn’t the normal aggressive sales you might find somewhere else. Very good experience and I will continue to buy vehicles from Tommy and tony group.

My husband and I just purchased a new Honda Odyssey at The Tony Group for our family. Our salesperson Scott M. was friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout our shopping experience. Scott was very thorough and answered all of our questions entirely. We didn’t feel pressured nor rushed as compared to our prior experiences. We would highly recommend anyone looking for a new car to visit Scott and The Tony Group!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

My friend and I came looking for a reasonably priced vehicle to replace her current one. We were immediately greeted by Ken Smiley and he started taking us around the lot.
They have such a huge selection, but he was very patient in walking us around and allowing us to see what might catch our eye. We were all over the board in regards to the make and test drove a couple.
This was a pleasant experience for me because Ken did not pressure us whatsoever. He was ever so patient with my friend as she was suffering from a concussion and needed everything repeated three or four time.
She got an excellent deal and the Finance Manager Jack was extremely patient in helping deal with the credit union and her pre-​approved loan. He and Ken worked on the details and making arrangements to get everything wrapped up so she could take possession of her new car.
Our experience here was laid back and easy. Ken truly made this experience enjoyable and worth all the time we spent with him. Thank you for doing an amazing job. I really appreciate you and your approach.

Very pushy, I just wanted to test drive and collect information before deciding. They wanted all private information just for a quote! I can go to BMW, test drive a car, and get a quote without giving away all my personal information! If I told you once I don’t need to tell you a dozen times and I don’t need to explain why I don’t have it.
I had no problems at a competitor, no hassle, no time wasted.

Honestly they provide a good service. This is what they are there for. They get the job done. With that said, the stereotype is correct, dealerships are grossly overpriced. If you are on warranty for your car, bring it in and make them work hard. Otherwise take your vehicle elsewhere to your local mechanic. I would recommend Capitol Auto. Supporting local mechanics will support our local economy here in Hawaii. I had a engine starting problem with my 03′ Nissan Sentra once upon a time. They convinced me to buy a battery at Tony Nissan and I was sceptical that that was the problem but I bought it anyway and the problem was still there. The way their mechanic shop works is a hit and miss. They keep trying to solve the problem until they eventually get it, like Russian Roulette. I put that «problematic» battery into another car I have and she starts right up. Bottom line, dealership as a last resort.

Do not buy a car here and expect great customer service from the service department. I had an 8 a.m. appointment. I was informed that it was going to be most of the day waiting because they were 14 cars behind from the day before. I rescheduled for the next week at 8 a.m. Etta told my husband and myself that they would be waiting on the car ready to fix the recall issue. It is now 10:43, and they still have not looked at the car. I was told 43 minutes ago, that they should know something in about 15 minutes. Still nothing. They are telling customers 2 to 3 hour wait for an oil change that is more expensive that the faster places here on island. I have yet to hear them release any vehicles without adding something that needs to be done at an extra charge. Terrible service department. I wish I had checked Unilocal before scheduling here. Do NOTexpect this service department to be fast.

I was browsing around for used cars online and came upon a couple that I liked from tony group autoplex. I decided to drop by to look at the cars and see what options I had. prices, see other cars on the lot, the test drive, etc. I was greeted by a local guy named John who was very friendly. at first. He liked the fact that I already knew which cars I wanted to see. After the first test drive on the first car he wanted to run my credit, even though I was asking if they had similar cars on the lot. I wasn’t as satisfied as I was expecting to be on the handle of the car so I insisted on seeing other cars first. yes John, customers like options. So we looked around which I appreciated and I found a second car that I was interested in. so then the fun part began. we talked about what my payments would look like. That’s when John’s demeanor changed like he couldn’t accept that I didn’t wanna sign away just yet. He even insinuated that I wasn’t a serious buyer and he «knew what I was doing». He became pushy and RUDE! I told him I wanted to look at my other options for like the third time and that I didn’t appreciate his attitude. Word of advice… coaching. lots of it. better yet, a different career. The cars can pretty much sell themselves, but a rotten sales rep can turn away the most decided of customers.

Used cars are sometimes VERY used. Trade in they sometimes say it’s going to auction but it is sold as used. A trade in vehicle had a cracked engine and was traded in. Salesman said it would be sold at auction. I saw it listed on Craigslist Tony Honda, no mention of cracked engine. I would be careful in buying used cars. A carfax report would not pick this up. I’m not sure if this a normal dealership tactic but I’m even more cautious of buying used vehicles even from any dealership.

Recently I had the windows tinted on my new Honda Odyssey at Tony Honda. A couple days later I realized they had not put the back windshield wiper cap back on which covers the wiper screw. I was disappointed that it had been overlooked. Drove over to their service department several days later without calling ahead. Immediately a smiling enthusiastic young man came right over and asked how he could be of help. I told him why I was there and within minutes Kevin Bui had the service department replace the cap and I didn’t even have to get out of my car! Nice folks and great service. When choosing a dealership you hope that future services will be hassle free. My first experience with Tony Honda’s service department was 5 stars thanks to Kevin.

We came here just to look at their used cars and ended up buying a new one for a better price. we dealt with the Nissan portion of this complex and Tommy was the man! Very good service and very easy to work with. Me and the wife have both bought our used cars from here and couldn’t be happier! When you go I wouldn’t work with anyone else but Tommy Chun-​Ming!!! Tell him I sent you!

I very recently purchased a new 2015 Honda Accord to replace my former vehicle I had sold for my day to day use and commute for work. I’ve been there before and other dealerships trying to narrow down the best car that fit my budget and my needs. I met Scott Matsuoka on my first trip to Tony Honda and he is very down to earth, knowledgable, and straightforward about details I wanted to know as well as very attentive to helping me find a car that best fit my needs. I didn’t purchase during that visit, but came back a few weeks later after seeing and test driving other cars.
I had lost Scott’s card and I’m really bad with names so I couldn’t remember (thank heavens I ran into him while walking around the lot right before I was about to leave the second time). The sales guy that greeted me on this trip just rubbed me the wrong way. (Not going to name names.) I don’t know about other people, but I don’t dress to the nines to go to a hot car lot to buy a car. So I felt based on the way I looked I was judged for what he thought was wasting his time as that was the demeanor I was picking up, as though he knew I wasn’t purchasing or he felt I looked too poor to be shopping for a vehicle. Little did he know my intent was to buy on this trip, but I had run out of time and had to get my kids from school then returning and purchasing the car I felt was the one. As I was leaving I ran into Scott and told him I would be coming back and wanted him to help me.
Upon my return I was able to finalize my choice for my Accord. Scott even helped me narrow down which color would best suit me. I chose white because it would be the least maintenance and most forgiving color for dings and dirt. I drove away that night with my car. I’ve been very happy with my purchase and would definitely have Scott help me if I were to need another vehicle.
If you’re looking for a new car and want to look at Tony Honda, have Scott Matsuoka be your salesperson. He isn’t pushy and cocky like many salesmen are. That is really annoying to me. I know that’s the sales person’s job to push sales, but all that does is drive my anxiety through the roof and want to leave. I never once felt that way with Scott. Thank you, Scott!

I went for my Jetta TDI’s 10,000 mile service today. The service department was just as easy, friendly and professional as the sales department.
I didn’t make an appointment, but my arrival was met with smile. The service department completed a comprehensive check of my vehicle, tire rotation, fluid top offs, filter change and even checked my brakes (because I was worried about them squealing.) The entire visit was free, except for the $ 20 I spent on some VW swag. :)
Overall, I am so glad I went with Tony to purchase my vehicle.

I didn’t get a chance to call Tony Group back until today. Spoke to the Honda Service Manager, Mr. Kurtis Tsuha this evening. He was very professional. We discussed in detail what events took place during my appointment and what they are doing to improve better service.
Mr. Tsuha was very helpful and I will be returning in the future to service my vehicle. Everyone deserves a second chance.

They do a great job! It’s a little pricey, but I normally use the complimentary car wash card given to me by the service department and pay $ 10.00 extra for the deluxe wash. They clean the inside and outside better than other car wash services.

We had an awesome experience working with the Tony Group Autoplex. Greg and Tommy (the Portuguese salesman with a Chinese last name) were great! We had not bought a new car in several years and they made it really easy for us to say «yes» to a Passat. Tommy listened to what were were looking for, our budget and steered us to the perfect car! I would definitely recommend anyone needing to buy a new car to go to the Tony Group.

Do not go to the service department!!! Even though we get free safely checks for being military, I am going to pay to have mine done elsewhere! I first pulled up and had no direction or guidance. The guy popped my hood and I went inside. The inside guy told me to go back outside… Confused I went anyways. Here he comes yelling at the guy who popped my hood about how he needs to learn to speak English and not let people go inside. They were all very very rude and I will NEVER EVER go back!!! Sucks because the sales guy was really nice and I almost just bought a car from them.

They’re really A-​Ok. Not in a bad way either. I’ve come here twice now, to check out cars from all of their offered brands — Hyundai, Nissan, Honda, and Volkswagen.
The salespeople were quick to greet me and guide me to see what I wanted to see. They were open to just showing me vehicles, offering test rides, with no pressure to buy at all.
In fact, I would like to say that I’d even go as far as to give them 4 stars. However, I have never bought from here personally, and my mom has had her Sentra serviced here numerous times with mediocre service — hence the 3.5 overall rating.

TERRIBLE. I bought a 2011 Jetta from these guys in February of this year and was fooled by their empty promises. At that point (right when I purchased the car) I thought I had a good experience. WELL then I realized I had no record of my last oil change, AND the light failure light on the dash keeps coming on randomly (all exterior lights appear fine)
The guy who sold me the car. Todd Luciano-​Desmith. scheduled me for what I thought was a «complimentary» check up on August 3^rd. I didn’t ask for this service but was automatically signed up for it so I thought it was one of the so called perks of purchasing a pre owned vehicle. And I missing something or is everything not under warranties and whatnot?
I guess this was one of they lies they use as sale pitchs. I had a lady call me from the service department to remind me of the scheduled maintenance that I thought was inclusive to my vehicle purchase but she informed me that this would cost over $ 600!!!
I asked how this could be and she told me at 40,000 the vehicles are no longer covered. INTERESTING because there was over 30,000 when i bought the car. No thank you. That’s pretty sneaky. We thought they were a military friendly company but maybe we were wrong. Don’t get me wrong, when I purchased the car I THOUGHT I was happy with my decision, but looking back I wish I would have been more careful and looked into other car dealerships!!!
DID I MENTION that when I bought the car, and took it home it had a 2012 Jetta Manual inside the glove box (mine is a 2011) so I asked for the correct one and they WOULDN“T give me one?! What the hell. it’s not my fault they gave me the wrong one. Also had all kinds of problems with registering my vehicle. they said it was my responsibility and then when I went to do it at the DMV they told me it has to be the company and it was back and forth for WEEKS before it got done.
BE CAREFUL AND DON’T EXPECT ANYTHING ONCE YOU SIGN THAT CONTRACT.

I would give them NEGATIVE stars if it were possible!
Took our Nissan truck to Tony Group to have the tailgate hinge adjusted, and they dented the driver door while it was there! They apologized and said they knew they did the damage. They said they would fix it with a paintless dent removal process. Instead, they went ahead and sent it out to be painted, EVEN THOUGH we confirmed they would do PAINTLESS dent removal (which they said would be NO PROBLEM).
When we got the truck back with a horrible paint job, finish on door was badly «orange peel», I grumbled that it looked bad. They repainted it with and even worse job! After 2 failed attempts to fix problem, the service manager yelled at us and told us, «well too bad, it’s professionally acceptable, now get out». He threatened to call the police on us for trespassing on his property! I told him to go ahead and call the cops, but at that point he came at me yelling at the top of his lungs, in my face (spitting), and in a menacing posture, fists clenched, so reluctantly, we left. This manager was probably twice my weight!
WELL, I took it to two other painters who said that it was a terrible job! DENT DOCTORS even wrote us a letter to Tony, saying that it was «completely unacceptable job».
Stan Masamitsu and Tony Group Autoplex gave us the WORST service EVER!!! Owner chose not to speak for himself, mgr said HE speaks for Masamitsu.
THEN they have the nerve to email me promotional crap! I told them I would spam my FB every time I get an email. Thought Unilocal might be even better!
By the way, I know someone replied to my review to try and make amends for my problem, but I emailed her to discuss, and never even got a response. In case you were thinking that they fixed my problem.

This was my first stop in my search for a car. I thought it would be an easy experience since they have all these different brands in one place. Wrong! How does such a big place stay in business with such poor customer service? There was no cohesiveness at all within the autoplex. I felt like I was in a royal rumble with sleezy car sales people. I was outnumbered of course.
For such a big place they didn’t have any of the cars I was looking for. The also have huge BS «mark ups» on the cars. Do they actually expect me to pay that? There’s a thing called the internet now that helps us smart shoppers know what’s a rip off. Stay away unless you wanna rumble with some sales people all day. I felt like I had to take a shower after I got home. More on the individual brand stores later.
