I frequently visit hardware stores and I ask for help a great deal because I’m unfamiliar with many of the products I need for my projects. I try to do many things myself at home and on our farm. I was at Ace again this week and again they were very helpful. If they don’t know the answer to your question they check for you. I like their attitude.

This is not an Ace Hardware store. Suggest Rolesville. Service, selection and price seem to be benefits of the short trip. Youngsville, Louisburg, N Raleigh are options.

We use this hardware store for just about all of hardware needs… ok, that may not be that much, don’t want to give the impression that we are cutting wood and installing shelving, but if it means a trip to Lowe’s Hardware is in order, we go to Ace instead. We are usually in this store about 3 times per month. We go for things like paint, light bulbs, garden needs, hubs goes for tools, etc. We would rather go right up the street to Ace rather than the big box stores and here is why: 1. When you walk in, you don’t even have to look around for the aisle you need because there is ALWAYS a staff member asking you for what you are shopping for and they walk you to it and help you get what you need. 2. There is a post office in the back so you can mail boxes, letters, purchase stamps, etc, 3. There is NEVER a wait at the front registers because staff will walk you to another register to check you out. 4. They have a popcorn machine and you can leave with a free bag… FREEPOPCORN!!! The only thing that sort of bumbs me out is that I really do not know what all they sell because it is uncomfortable to browse. The staff members are so on top of it that I feel awkward roaming around the store looking at things because they always ask what else you need. It’s a shame that my negative is that they are attentive but a girl likes to browse sometimes. Love supporting my local Ace, especially since it is supporting the smaller, local store in Wake Forest!

This is my second visit to this location in the past couple of months. I went in while bored a couple months ago and was very pleasantly surprised at the selection and pricing of items. I suppose I have become accustomed to specialty or convenience stores being more costly. I learned on my first visit that in addition to having reasonable prices the staff is very knowledgeable. I was comparing the brands of A/C filters and noticed that the terminology used in the ratings was different. A staff member was able to explain the differences to me and also discuss what was important and not important in a filter. A basic cost /benefit analysis if you will. I also learned that they have a rewards program and signed up for a free card for deeper discounts. I returned again today looking for 9 volt batteries for my smoke detectors(chirping for several months now until I became annoyed enough to borrow the neighbors ladder to replace the batteries) and to price mulch. Scored on the batteres with a savings of $ 3.98. The Energizer and Duracell 9 Volt batteries were $ 11 for a 4 pack. The ACE brand was slightly more expensive at $ 12 but with my rewards card I got them for $ 8. I would definitely recommend this store but also caution you to be wary as some items are more expensive than they would be at other stores.
