Sugar On Top a Daylight Donut Company

I visited this location on a Saturday morning. I must say, the donut was good, in addition to the blueberry muffin. I will return.

The best donuts l have ever had. I thought the only way to get really good donuts and treats were to make them yourself; however, this place has changed my thinking. Since I do bake I have a certain expectation. Almost all sweet shops I have come across are not worth going into, especially the chains. This place I go out of my way for. I am constantly getting request from the people at work to bring in these donuts. My foreign colleagues either request these donut be brought in or bring them in themselves. Remember to go early or if you need a lot call ahead. They only make so many.

I wanted to like this place. But I just can’t. The 1 star rating is generous. I stopped in on Sunday Morning at 10:00 AM for a box of donuts. The display was empty. I was informed that they make church runs on Sunday and simply didn’t make enough donuts that day for the store. O – kaaay So let’s move on shall we? A quick perusal of the display and I saw cupcakes. Yay cupcakes, right? I asked the lady if they use buttercream frosting. Uh no, I was told they only use whip cream frosting. No me gusta whip cream so I decided upon a slice of lemon butter pound cake.
To my shock and horror, the lady sliced my cake, wrapped it in parchment paper and placed it inside a paperbag. Nobody does this to lemon pound cake except Starbucks and well, this place ain’t no Starbucks. I asked for a plastic container and was told that the size of the cake prevented it from fitting inside one of their containers. I had to explain that I just wasn’t comfortable with a slice of cake in a paper bag. The owner came out and suggested that we slice it in half to make it fit inside of a container. Thank heavens Sweet Tooth Fairies, I can confirm that the lemon pound cake is pretty good. The icing was perfect and the cake itself was really good. Not good enough to make me go out of my way but still good enough.
The scone on the other hand nearly chipped my tooth and tasted like blueberry flour.

A solid place to grab some delicious donuts, cakes, muffins, and other various pastries!
Although I’ve only tried their donuts, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by each and every flavor I’ve tasted!
Although they don’t have too many choices, they do have the typical ones like powdered sugar, maple, cinnamon sugar, blueberry, chocolate, glazed, etc.
The have other random pastry options like scones, pies, cakes, cannolis, and muffins!
I’d say this is the perfect place to get your sweet on in speedy time~
Note, their hours are kind of awkward and they’re closed on Mondays (the day I really want to treat myself lol)
The atmosphere is very homey and quaint– nothing fancy.
Staff is super friendly as well~
If you go later in the day, some of the donuts run out and the glaze kind of melts off the donut. So yeah, long story short, go in the morning!!!

Yea? we’ll make it your business to stop here! Their glazed donuts are off the charts delicious and we now are required to bring the 6 «high made from scratch Lemon Pound cake to all of our family gatherings… In NJ and Philadelphia!

Great donuts and pastries. You wont find anything better in wake forest!
