Love! Love! Love! Everything was awesome and the staff was the best! The chicken parm was delicious… Toasted raviolis for an app were awesome too!

Hidden Gem! This place was great! I bought a groupon to try it out. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but I was pleasantly surprised when my seafood lobster ravioli dish arrived — it was fantastic! Probably the best I’ve ever had. Owned by a couple, the wife was our server and gave us a little overview of the menu. Everything is made fresh. Worth a try for sure! We’ll be back.

Average food for the price. We got takeout on a Wednesday. Maybe it was a bad night for them?

Great food. You are not going here for the décor but the food is solid. My family has been going to this restaurant when it was in Chelsea, Everett, Malden and now Wakefield. There food is always consistent and delicious. Marsala, Franchese, Parmagiana are all excellent. Must try the Massimo Special which is a creamy pesto sauce. Also best Pasta Fagioli.

The four of us went to Massimo’s last night since it moved from Malden. It was busy and was seated promptly. Wait staff was friendly. We ordered veal Marco Polo, chicken parm, chicken broccoli and ziti, and chicken marsala. Food came out quick and hot. Portions were huge very delicious. The owner came out greeted us and asked how the food was which I thought was great. The décor is not the greatest but I’m there for the food. What a hidden gem. A must go to place you will not be disappointed. Will definitely be back.

We had no idea Massimos had moved from Malden to Wakefield. What a great surprise to find out that they had relocated north about a year ago(as we had done 3 years ago)! My husband loves the chicken saltimbocca, which he tries at every Italian restaurant we visit. He agreed that after tonight, the best is at Massimos. I got the linguine with clams tonight and it was delicious. The portions are large and the prices are low. The servers seem genuinely concerned about whether you feel at home and are enjoying your meal. And the owner comes out to chat/check on you at least once while you’re eating. He’s extremely proud of his food and he should be. Why fight for parking in the North End when you’ve got this place?

I wish the owners took some pride in the appearance of the place. Service was adequate, although only two tables. Food was very good but the place is a dump. Imagine dinning in your grandmothers basement. No windows, decode was sparse and /or from Kmart. Why no bar? They totally miss giving u an experience. I won’t go back.

This place is awesome. We are new to Wakefield from Boston and this is our new favorite restaurant. Every dish we have tried has been amazing and the service is great.

New to Wakefield and craving Italian, we decided on Massimos. Whatever you do, don’t let the outside of this building fool you, don’t let the inside fool you either. It’s old school in every sense of the word. Older décor, older signage but very very very clean! The most important part, the food. AMAZING! go with an empty stomach because the portions are generous. Everything is fresh and made to order. Extremely delicious! Wait staff is friendly and courteous. This place is a must for authentic Italian.

It’s a somewhat small restaurant, hidden away a block off of Main St. There was one waitress, and the guests were seated at opposite ends, so she was always bustling back and forth, seeming a bit harried, We started with the zucchini sticks, which were very tasty. My wife ordered the chicken parmesan over ziti, and it was delicious. I ordered the seafood smörgåsbord special; I liked everything except the calamari. We finished with an order of the tiramisu, which was alright. No free refills on soda, always a disappointment. There was a mixup with the bill that took 10+ minutes to resolve. The owner came over to talk to us about the mix-up, and while understandable, it was a challenging end to the meal experience.

Great! The outside looks dumpy, feels like walking into a boat, you drink water from plastic cups, but then the entrees come out and wow! Excellent authentic homemade pasta! With tangy balanced sauces and tender protein. Pro service. Awesome desserts too. In a town saturated with Italian food, Massimos is king.

We ordered the fontina spinach appetizer. It was a soggy eggplant slice topped with boiled spinach and soggy mushrooms topped w white cheese, lacked flavor and texture was not good. The mixed calamari, shrimp, scallop was soaking in a ¼ inch of grease and tasted like it was fried in old oil. We ordered the Marco Polo veal and chicken Frances, both were okay but pasta watered down, which was probably good because it provided moisture to the stale bread. if you don’t get a seat in the front of the restaurant, it feels like you’re sitting in a basement. For appetizers, drinks and meals for 3, we spent a little over $ 100, totally overpriced for the quality. Would not go back.

We went with a couple last night and had a blast. The food was excellent with huge portions. The service was fast and friendly. The owner even came over and asked how everything was and we replied, «it was fantastic.» They also had a great restaurant week deal which was buy one protein dish and receive the other half off. We had a bottle of wine, beers, and entrees and the bill was very low. We will definitely be back.

On a cold snowy night, we decided to go in search of Massimo’s. A staple in Malden has now moved to Wakefield. Just off the main street in the town center, there they are! I was happy to see plenty of parking, in a lot right out front, sometimes it is tough to find parking on the main street. The exterior is charming and welcoming. Inside is pretty basic but cozy but we were there, as always, for the food. I’m happy to say that the food is just as great, if not better, than we remembered. Portions are still large, prices still reasonable. My personal favorite, chicken franchise was sooooooo goooooood! Extensive wine list, expanded menu, friendly and helpful waitstaff and of course, the homemade dessers and visits to the table by Max were highlights of our evening. This is a great place to come for traditional Italian without making the trek to the North End. Next time, we bring the kids!

Quite overpriced for mediocre food. Wait staff was very accommodating and kind. But the food just doesn’t justify North End prices.

It was just ok, passable by my standards but nothing outstanding. Boston lettuce salad, veal parm was pounded thin and was not substantial. Maybe a meatball sub next time!
