Sushi Go

Today I bought a Black Ship Roll ($ 14.75 Oversized pieces rolled inside out with toasted sesame seeds using our special brown rice blend with Wild Yellowfin tuna, BBQ eel, crabstick, avocado, cucmber, scallion inside and masago roe with both sweet and spicy sauces on the outside,) preprepared but fresh and delicious. I also got the Seaweed Salad ($ 4.25 Lightly sweet and crunchy with a hint of sesame and MSG Free!) The Jumbo roll seems expensive but it really filled me up. The salad was lovely, not too much sesame oil and wonderful cold.
This Sushi Go is inside the Belmont Market Place and has been there quite some time. You can call in an order or stand at their counter and order or drop by, see what they have preprepared, pick it up and go. There’s a small area behind the florist area where you can dine if you don’t want to bring it home.
This is not your typical grocery store macerated meat/​dry rice/​tacky nori rolls you find manufactured at the big grocery store chains. Sushi Go has a restaurant (almost a hole in the wall,) in Newport that prepares the same delicious sushi. You can get nigiri, sushi, maki, even sushimi here or at the original location. Look online for what they offer, they have a really nice array. They boast that they serve fruit sushi but I’ve not had the inclination to try it. I noticed that they now offer «Japanese Pork Belly Buns» which makes me curious. The only bummer is that for extra pickled ginger or wasabi you get charged.

Best grocery store sushi I’ve had. Always fresh, friendly staff, good specials, good prices.
