Whispering Oaks is 4 star based on cleanliness and it’s centralized location. If you’re looking for a place to camp and go do activities in the National Forest and need amenities (bathroom, hot-​clean shower, waste service) this place will suit your needs. It is small and had many vacancies. My group was 6 adults and we did get a little loud at times. No one hassled us and it appeared that the kept the younger adults in the back spaces. If you’re looking for an outdoorsy camping experience, it’s 2 stars and go somewhere else. The Manistee Nation Forest offers free range camping anywhere you want can hike to.
