So, it has been a while since I have been here. I thought I would try them again. I had eggs, home fries, and a Belgium waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. I want to mention that the waitress knew my male acquaintance, which was fine, but tried to get his order first. My order should have been received first, as I learned as a waitress that a woman’s order gets taken first. However, my acquaintance asked the waitress to take my order first, which was very nice of him. I enjoyed the eggs, as they were light and fluffy. The home fries were a very small portion and they had way too much salt on them. There are ways to make very good home fries without the use of salt. However, I do love how they use red skinned potatoes with the skin still on them. The Belgium waffle tasted good. It was soft and fluffy. The fruit on top was fresh, but there was not a lot of whipped cream or fruit. The whipped cream was only five small dollops… four being around the plate. The waitress never came back to ask how everything was and I had to ask for more whipped cream, after she was talking to a lady in another booth for a while. Another waitress came by to fill my guest’s coffee and I had to ask her for more hot water. I do not go out to eat a lot and when I do, I find it a treat for me. So, I look forward to a nice experience. I have been a waitress in the past, so I was very disappointed at my time at the restaurant.

Awesome place for breakfast or lunch anytime. Everything here is made from scratch and to order so it may take a little longer on the weekends because it can be crowded. But it’s worth the wait. The Staff is amazing and very friendly. You just need to ask them what’s a FaDina?

I waited 45 minutes to get 2 eggs and one refill on my water. All in all the whole thing took an hour. I saw my waitress 3 times and one of those times she was asking me about a food order that wasn’t mine. What a joke. Don’t eat here.

Dont know how anyone can give this place negative reviews. Great food, big portions, good service, and the best prices in town. If you want a good breakfast skip Ricks and find this gem.

I know everyone in town loves Ricks on five, but Connies kitchen has them beat. My husband and I got omelettes, one with home made meatloaf inside, the other with homemade corned beef hash inside. There are no canned hashes here. The home fries that came with our dishes were crispy and delicious and did not come from a bag or freezer… they were little red potatoes with skin still on. Lastly, the cinnamon raisin and cranberry toasts were griddle toasted with butter and just the right amount of sweet. We got jelly but never even touched it so we didn’t ruin the bread.

Great breakfast, very fast and friendly service. Quieter than other breakfast spots in the area, so there was no wait which was nice for a change. Real close to home, so I’ll be back for sure!

Comfortable if a little cramped. Decent food that includes some seriously good oatmeal. Also, it’s one of the few places around in which you can order some turkey bacon. I’ll definitely go back.

I’m surprised by the low reviews for this place. Especially Jason’s review below… what do you expect for a plain waffle and a gluten free sandwich?! Haha. Kind of a plain choice where I wouldn’t expect the order to be amazing… Why not try a special? They’re very good when I’ve had them. When I have gone here the last few times, I have had the cinnamon pancakes(3) good size pancakes that I almost can’t finish, the Nutella and cream french toast(special) and most recently the breakfasts breakfast burrito which was really good and huge. The burrito had egg, sausage, bacon, home fries, cheese, and salsa which I asked for on the side. A couple other people in our party got the special which had an omelette stuffed with their homemade chili and they said it was excellent. In the past they’ve had the eggs and hash and I can say that the hash is delicious but they’re always running out! Minus a star for that. The people are friendly and welcoming, and if you have a special request, like if you want them to make one of their breakfasts a little bit different than they have it listed, they will do it. I always go here for breakfast when I’m in the area which is about 2 to 3 times a month now.

My boyfriend and I were visiting from Boston and found Connies on Unilocal. The staff was so friendly, the service was quick, the meal was delicious and generous portions. The homefries were top notch! Definitely a must visit if you’re looking for a cute, delicious breakfast spot!

This place was a dive. First impression was that it was a tiny shack tucked away in a low rent plaza opening, first impression was proven right when I walked in the door. Food was okay. Felt like I was eating breakfast at mom’s on a Sunday morning. The waffle I got felt like it was cooked on a $ 20 machine from Walmart. Nothing special about it, but it was still the same price as premium waffles at big league breakfast joints. The place felt pretty dirty too. Staff was very friendly. Service was super fast. Bathrooms were not the best, but were clean enough to do your business and they were decently sized(no standing in the toilet to shut the door for this guy). Parking and seating were awful. They do takeout so if I go back, this is the option. I took my girl because we heard they had gluten free options. They had gf pancakes and gf toast. Not many options if you ask me. Since I felt disappointed in the regular waffle, i can imagine how their pancakes/gf pancakes are. All in all, if you live in the area it is a great place to go when you do not feel like cooking, but if you are coming from a far, do not make a special trip.

This is a good place to eat if you want a good, cheap meal. I discovered this place shortly before moving away from CT. If I were to move back to the Wallingford, CT area I would definitely return here. It is a seat yourself type of place, the staff is extremely friendly and the service has always been fantastic. The food has always been quickly delivered and is consistently well-prepared and delicious.

Just moved to the area and my fiancé and I were looking for our new Sunday breakfast spot. Connie’s Kitchen is a cute little hole in the wall– very clean, everyone was really friendly. I wasn’t feeling particularly adventurous so I went with a western omelette(no cheese) while my fiancé went with the chili omelette special. Everything was delicious and you can tell the veggies were chopped fresh(which is a big departure from the old diner we used to frequent!). The waitress visited our table frequently to make sure we were good on coffee and she was polite and friendly. We will certainly visit again!

I thought I would update my review of this Diner/Luncheonette if you really want me to pigeonhole the type of Kitchen it really is all about. So here we are, some 5 months further down the road from my last review, and I must say I do feel a lot better about things now that I have been back many more times. The«Specials» which are up on a daily basis; for both breakfast and lunch, are pretty good. I did enjoy their Mexican omelette a few weeks ago, and I also liked their French Toast Croissant with fresh strawberries and blueberries. But come on guys, the basics still need some improvement. My first suggestion is to go from small eggs to large yoke eggs and my second would be to find another recipe for the hash-browns, they still need a lot of improvement. Please make your cooks look smarter(as in dressed), instead of street clothes, give them some type of clean uniform or apron, as they can be seen preparing food from the main dining area. And please, cover their hair with something other than a baseball cap, thank you. Getting better, but still needs improvement. PAG

It was are first time here. It is close to home so we wanted to give it a try. The waitress set the tone for me as soon as we sat down she was a waitress that just goes thru the motions not real sencere just going thru the motions. Menus are on the table. She gets us are coffee did not ask us if we are ready said she will be back to take our order she walked over and sat a counter and watched the TV. So we had to wait until she was ready. A big no no in my book. We the custmer have to wait for the waitress. Food was ok. Scambled egss were slightly runny, home fries are red potatoes unpeeled and very bland. To me that says to lazy to make homefries. Bacon was cooked good. They had orange marmalade for my toast. Over priced in my opinion. Might give it another shot. Will not be my first choice.

Read a nice article a few months back on about this place so I figured I’d try it out. Been here a few times since. The breakfast burrito and the Italian omelette are spectacular. Would recommend.

The best part about this place is the atmosphere. It is bright and comfy. While they keep it very clean, the food is average and the prices are just a tad high for what it is(in my opinion). I’ve been there a few times and each time the service was significantly slower than it should have been.
