I would love to come perform at your child’s birthday party, block parties, barbecues, as well as festivals and fairs! I’m also available to perform at libraries, daycares, schools, camps – you name it!
My show is highly interactive – I get the audience involved in a whole bunch of fun ways! And there’s something for everyone, from babies to older kids.
Out of my repertoire of songs (you can hear some of them at www.evangottfried.com, and you can see lots of photos from my shows), I choose around eight songs that have some kind of movement associated with them (such as reaching up high like a tree, or holding hands as they dance in a circle), and/or props. For instance, I have a song called «Rainbow» during which the kids are given long, shiny ribbons attached to little handles («rainbow wands») of various colors, which the kids love waving around with the music. I also have a song called «Shake,» and the kids get to use shakers to play along with me. I have a song called «Share the Earth,» and the kids gather around a parachute and bounce a big inflatable «Earth» ball up in the air. For my finale, a high-energy song I wrote called «Bubbles,» we turn on bubble machines, and the kids always have a blast. I also introduce them to one of my «friends,» Molly the Mollusk or Sid the Squid – both of them are puppets who are characters from my songs.
I am available for public and private events in NY’s Hudson Valley region, and in the tri-state area of NY, NJ, & CT (and Eastern PA).
History
Established in 2011.
When I first started writing songs for kids, I decided that I didn’t want to «dumb down,» but rather I always try to write songs that I myself would want to listen to as a parent, and that I would want my kids to listen to. I want kids and adults to absorb and learn the core messages of my songs – which often boil down to love for each other, for oneself, and for our planet. And I also place a lot of value on being silly. I want to remind kids to be kids, and to remind grownups that they are still kids at heart.
Over the past four years I have played at dozens of parties, festivals, libraries and schools, and it’s always a blast!
